  • Rome is our topic in History this week

  • thanks helped me with my homework

    :) :) :) :) :) THANKS BRO

  • how did they get britons?

  • and i believe you are using post marian reform roman soldiers

  • Is the battle of Zama where Scipio beats Hannibal with equal troops.

  • That was not what really happened. They actually had a party that day which lasted 4 days and left 100.000 wasted casualities.

  • historically did this battle take place before or after the marian reforms?

  • Where did you get your sources for this battle?

  • I personally hate Rome...Carthage is totally owning them...CARTHAGE RULES!!!

  • good job

  • this battle is a fucking nightmare D:

  • Pretty good, but you could have shown the envelopement of the Roman army better, and how they barely managed to escape by breaking the Carthaginian line in the middle.

  • think your thinking about the Battle of Cannae, where the entire roman army was wiped out.

  • that did happen at cannae, but it also happened at this battle as well. not to cannae's degree, but it still happened.

  • I agree with TheRoopeKonna :)

  • actually what he said wasn't really wrong. He meant that Hannibals attacks didn't weaken the Romans it made them unite under one cause because Rome wasn't really united they were in 3 factions. But they united to fight against Carthage.

  • What video recording software did u use?

I've downloaded like 6 programs already and they all screw up when recording Rome total war

  • Otherwise good...but roman infantry was way better than carthaginian infantry. Even carthaginians was experienced, romans was still better.

Hannibal trusted to his tactics to win out the battle asu kno

  • ture but rome amry was not good till it was an empire 300 years later.

  • It was. First line of hastati, second lune of principer and third line of triarii were better than carthaginian mercenaries. They didn't care about death(the romans), just fightes till the last breath taken.

  • @TheRoopeKonna

The Iberians Hannibal had trained in spain were really hard troops, the rest were mercenaries and barbarian tribesmen which were already fighting for years. The Romans on the other side just had citizens which were called to war, nevertheless their practice and discipline was really hard. But, because of their huge amout, as you've said, Hannibal had to use special tactics to gain such glorious victories...

  • @couchpotatoe91

Of course, but roman disciples, citizens and other garrisons gathered nearby Rome and from it's allies countries provided Rome an endless source of manpower, allowing Rome to gather quickly mass well-trained armies whereabout Hannibal had no way to call reinforcements from Spain or Carthage. This way romans won Hannibal. Hannibal also had superior edge in cavalry which allowed him to do his maneuvers. Without his cavalry he would've been screwed, and a demonstration of this

  • @TheRoopeKonna

You're totally right about that. Afaik Hannibal didn't even get reinforcements from Carthage because of some nobles who thought he/the Barcas would become too mighty or something like that...

  • @couchpotatoe91

I recall that once he did get reinforcements, but most of them remained in Spain due to Cornelius(?) Scipio and his brother's success in Spain.. and i think when Hasdrubal came with the gauls... well he got slaughtered

  • U were right I heard the same pronunciation of principe on history channel 2 months ago sorry about what I said before

  • In latin, C's are pronounced as K's (Principes, in the video, has a K sound), for all you wondering. Ceasar is pronounced Kaiser (as in German) in Latin.

  • @flyingduckie

There're actually both ways to spell this, with C and with K, but K-spelling is the old one, that's right...

  • @flyingduckie wow, before i read that one message about the C's as K's, I pronounced Prinkipays (or however you spell them) as Prinsipays. I know i'm misspelling, but i'm trying to get it so you understand how i'm pronouncing it.

  • i have this game its awesome

  • its all about Sparta man thy kicked ass lol cn u do a vid wiith thm in it ???? plzzz lol

  • Excuse me? Could you say that without typing like a complete idiot?

  • what are you, a 10 year old?

  • @flyingduckie he must be, never in my youtubing have i read such an offensive, no good, backstabbing, hating, mother fucking asshole say such words!sorry that he did that 2 you flyingduckie. You don't deserve it, i love the educational vid though! and keep it up! :D

  • @flyingduckie good vid, but i know that the veterans of the roman army formed a square and fought their way out. and the S at the end of principes is pronouced

  • @borntobewild420 JESUS CHRIST KID JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND WATCH THE GOD DAM VIDEO!!!! Dam kids like you these days can appreciate what they receive, instead, they have to complain, complain, and complain some more. GOD DAM their so fucking greedy!!!

  • He means that Hannibal's attack against Italy brought the romans closer together.. not that he united them under his banner and started killing his beloved kinsmen XD

  • OMG you got it ALL WRONG at the end. Hanibal didn't help rome the romans attcked Carthrage and hanabele returned to defend his homeland where the romans defeated him. Do your research. Still good vedio

  • he said it wrong, what he meant was that Hannibal's victories help to unite the Romans AGAINST him.

  • dude you really messed up hannibal was a carthaginian and he attacked rome not help it attack his own people dude that was a big flaw at the end there

  • flying duckie, plz answer, how did you get this map and all?

  • this map can be playede demo

  • yeah, but this is far different from the demo version. the armies are much larger and stuff.

  • did you do this multiplayer?

  • Its a historical battle.

  • yes i know but u can do multiplayer historical battles

  • This is amazing, your video and the game itself! so realistic and the game play is unmatched!

  • man are you some kinda strategical tactical mastermind or someting because your knowledge is quite extensive

  • there's a lot of poor pronunciation of words in this.

  • Nice ass battle!

  • how did you get brittnia units in a carthagienan army

  • this was a damn good video keep op the good work

  • thnk u 5/5 i feel i know alot abt the battle at trebia river , ive desicded to do my history homework on it and tell my history teacher to shuv it up his ars =]

  • wat recording software do u use??

  • Also, you'll need a tutorial and I'm looking for the tutorial link which I lost. Finally, you cannot render your camera movements unless you'll play with version 1.2. Rendering makes your clips utterly lag-free but FRAPS does a decent job.

  • The cinematic editor would have made this good video awesome.

  • How can you use the cinematic editor

  • When you right-click the RTW icon and select properties, you'll see the command line which is the directory of the RTW game. So you'll see something like: C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome Total War etc. It should have quotations around it. So put -movie_cam at the end of this line, after the quotations. Then apply changes and start up the game. To use the cam, play a replay, save the replay, then open the replay and the movie cam interface should come up.

  • Thank you too much.Cinematic editor is perfect

  • How do you get those chosen swordsmen and warband etc in the carthaginian army?

  • that was weird. how did he get those units?

  • It's an historical fact that after Hannibal crossed tha alps there were just 2 elephants left and a big part of his army was composed by italian celts tribes as Taurini, Ambroni, Liguri and so on....

  • Actually, all the elephants survived the crossing of the Alps, but were so badly weakened in health they died soon after Trebia

  • I have only this to say:

The roman forces in this battle have gold chevrons. In this video they were so noob that I think you were playing on easy mode. Well done...NOT.

  • he's doing a reenactment of an actual battle, the higher the difficulty the harder it is to portray the battle accurately

  • its not prenounced prinkipae its pronounced prinsepae but other then the prenounciation its an awesome video

  • No its pronounced with a "k" as "C"'s are pronounced like k's in ancient latin.

so Caesar is Kaiser hence the name of the german emperoers of the holy roman empire

  • wow that was possibly the best video i have EVER seen :o

    ~ well done ~

  • How did you get the chosen swordman and warband units to the Carthaginian army?

  • I agree. BRAVO!!!!

  • Excellent video presentation ! Very very well done !

  • is it normal or gold pack u got and what is the age to buy game

  • in the demo you can play the real battle of trebia and the carthaginians where with less people.

i played it and it was

    843 carthaginians vs 1543 romans.

    but is stil won.

  • is this a custom battle?

  • yes it was

  • dud the romans ruled a world wied empire yo dip shit

  • It wasn't world wide ever. And this happened in Rome's early years. When Rome was just beginning to rise.

  • well that was a waste of life....

  • i mean maker of this video

  • lol it is so clear to tell that the maker of this game liked carthigians way more than romans but that is hard to disagree about

  • great video. the narration was somewhat irrelevant. but other than that, good job!

  • how do u move your whole leagon forward at once

  • pres cntrl A if i remember correctly and press where you want them to go XD

  • awsome!

  • great vids im subscribing

  • your so dumb u do know you basically CANNOT destroy a phalanx from the front

  • actually, the romans broke the carthaginian lines in their flight, so it was almost a defeat or draw for the carthaginians

  • I dont normally post comments, but i found the naarative especially interesting, without it video will be almost meaningless.

A bit more of background info on your tactics would be good!

  • u need to stop narrating ur own videos

  • man good story, this should be on History Channel, i love this game!thanks for giving out the history bout it,im so into knowin how this Empire was made.LOve the way u did this history

  • is this a project?plus u sound high

  • errr at 3:46, those are gauls...

  • carthaginians used mercinary gauls in the 2nd punic war

  • make some more vids pls lolol

  • Good vid anyway!

  • That was some hard work you did! 5 stars.

  • that was cool 5 stars and favrotied

  • im sorry to say but the movie could do with a lot less of ur talking....but either way this was a great movie.....very well planned out....also did u personally organize ur forces on this campaign?

  • Hannibal make his ambush befor that the roman general could get organise his legions
