  • what pedal does this one imitate? I mean, is it the "imitation" of Ibanez TUBE SCREAMER?

  • Fantastic tone. What amp are you playing through? Its a great combination.

  • @ImageRiver It's a red stripe Peavey Bandit 112 the guitar is Gibson ES-335

  • I just got this pedal today. Sounds GREAT :-). Tried through a bunch of amps and also direct with a GDI21 direct box amp sim thing. Now I dont need to sell my soul to get that nice focused tone. I cant stop playing and messing with it.

  • You sold your tubescreamer for this?

as far as i know is the to800 a clone of an tubescreamer, the same pedal dude! :D

  • You play nice, man !

  • It really shows how blinded we are to marketing...to perceptions of branding and what 'famous' artist use....

  • I have one of these, and I hate to admit it, it is excellent value,,,,I keep coming back to it as it is such a good pedal!!

  • This Vs. Digitech Hot Rod XSeries?

  • its an thick sounding pedal for a nice price(for the hobbyplayers aswell as for pro.s)

currently i use an dod mystic blues and the biyang od8 (changeble opamps)wich has more rugged casing for almost the same price as the behringer vintageblues if ordered directly from china

  • Great video. The tone you got in this video sounds authentic to the type of music you are playing. I would expect to hear this sound at a really good concert for blues music.

  • Thanks for your demo. But what is the difference between this one and a bbe screamer???Im a steel guitarist and use fender twin reverb.I dont want alot of overdrive just a warmer middlerange with just a little bending overdrive

  • sounds like nice overdrive but doesn't sound 'tube' to me. Uless it's the limitation of the video sound that filters it.

  • there are many so called musicians out there who have been blinded by "brand mentality". Behringer pedals have always been under rated. But i got myself 4 pedals over the weekend, RV600, VD400, TO800 and BO100. I already got equivalent pedals from Boss (BD2), Ibanez (TS9), ModTone (Analog Delay), and EHX Holy Grail, but am gonna make the Behringers my main gears this year.

  • this green item is a pedal;

  • NICE!

  • this for a solid-state amp?

  • @bryansouza both are great. Bad Monkey has a few pros over this, it has Low and High Boost, as well as in my opinion a better build quality but the tone of the Behringer is really good.

  • Great video mate absoliutely stunning. You are a great guitar player. Thanks again for this video it was very helpful

  • Nice playing intheblues. Thank you using BEHRINGER TO800 as one of your gear. Keep the videos coming!

  • @behringer Thanks Behringer! :) I have the most viewed videos of your pedal demos on youtube! Thanks also for using them on your website.

  • bb kings thrill is gone!!!is one of my favorite blues songs!!!the song has the most sexy vibe in it! bought me also an to-800 on ebay!!hope it sounds as great as my ibanez ts7 brown mod????also i use an dod mystic blues 402 stompbox wich is also awesome!!!there's an texas op amp in it!

keep up the great play'in!don't let the blues die!!!

  • @SPICYPLACENTA How did this rate compared to your other pedals?

  • Good playing man! Reminds me of me... Check it out! Where abouts in Aus are you. My Grandfather and uncle live in Coff's Harbour. I went there three years ago. I now have a brother in law in Brisbane (I just got married - to the girl in the video I've attached) -

Jase North. Also check out JasonNorthBlues and jasenorthblues vids.

    G'day mate.

  • I've seen these in the shops in Aussie.

I've considered buying one, but I thought I'd ask an expert this first:

What the exact difference is between a Tube Overdrive and a regular overdrive?

    Sorry, I'm just a beginner =D

  • Comment removed

  • @NightXemnas It's just a normal overdrive pedal. It has tube in the name because it is based on the Ibanez Tube Screamer, which was designed as a light overdrive to color a tube amp's preamp. Tubes kinda look like lightbulbs, and are inside the amp head. Many modern amps don't even have them, but tube amps are generally sought after for their warm tones. Lots of high end amps have tubes, and lots of pro guitarists use them with tube screamers or one of the million TS clones out there.

  • @GhostOfAE Thanks heaps for clearing that up! Your explanation was clear and simple but still gave me a bit of insight into the whole thing. Cheers

  • Buy Boss.

  • @DrumGuitarDude Why? It's what everyone else does. Why would you want to sound like everyone else?

  • @lordieuan777

because of the quality, and for a better sound.

  • @DrumGuitarDude Hey there are plenty of other people out there who make pedals as good as if not better better than Boss. What are you, an endorser or something? Besides, value for money wise these Behringers are probably the best pedals on the market today, rivaled only by the the Danelectros.

  • @lordieuan777

i know dude, not saying that they suck, i just prefere Boss.

  • @DrumGuitarDude Boss is great, but if you buy their pedals you are going to sound like everybody else. There are plenty of other good manufacturers, and there are loads of DIY pedals that are not difficult to build. BYOC pedals are DIY-only and IMHO sound better than anything Boss has ever created. Recently I built a Dr Boogey pedal (not byoc) and it is by far the best pedal I've ever heard in my life.

Why limit yourself to only one brand?

  • @GhostOfAE

im not only using Boss, also Electro Harmonix.

  • i just sub'd. i think that behringer really is a decent company. it kills me how people turn their nose up at something that would be more likely to be labeled "economy" despite the fact that it is better than your tube screamer.....i'm just sayin' :]

  • yea thats a nice sound got me buying one thanks and keep playing you sound great

  • It's $30 US

  • awesomee guy! nice music ! :D

    great job ! hug :-)

  • Search YouTube for Gjika Mini Amp. It is a real powertube distortion pedal! Rare find!

  • Nice playing

  • cheers! :)

  • hi, what is the backtrack ??? Pretty nice for improvise!!!!!

    I want this pedal

    very nice playing

  • I think it was "the thrill is gone" i just typed in Blues Backing track and that came up :)

  • Sounds good.

    Does it switch every time?

I've got a Soundtank Tubescreamer and a plastic Morley pedal and they both switch unreliably. Sometimes you step on them and nothing happens. I dont know if it's from cheap switches or maybe the plastic just doesnt provide enough mass.

  • Hi,

It's reliable in terms of the switch. if you use it on AC all the time the DC might stop working. It's a stupid flaw but it happened to two of us so far.

They sound great man, work for ages!

  • whats makes this vintage compared to the Behringer TO100 Tube Overdrive? is it worth the extra £15?

  • same pedal construction just a different price and tone. I like the green one (this one) over all of them)

  • Man I love that sound! Great playing by the way. am kind of taken back. A Behringer pedal thru a Peavey Bandit solid state amp...and you pulled it off very nicely. I think I will check into one of these. Have you had the oportunity to play one of Behringers vintage tube monster pedals yet. Great video, I have been educated....ad suprised!

  • excellent :) thanks. I haven't tried that pedal yet I'll check it out.

  • I was thinking about getting a cheap pedal for my son, I think I might need two. I wouldn't have even bothered checking this out otherwise. It has a lot of good reviews, and this sounds pretty darn good.

  • yeah the tone is as good as anything out there. Check out belcat as well. Belcat make an exceptional pedal for their price (Can also be called crossfire)

  • What pickups were used? Very nice tone

  • Stock Gibson 335 pickups (whatever they are :) )

  • Thanks for the excellant blues playing and demo of this pedal. I bought one about 2 months ago after watching this demo, and it has been on my pedal board every since!

  • Your sound is great even without the pedal! What are you using for an amp?Nice playing as well...

  • Thanks :)

It's Peavey Bandit 112. One of the best clean channels of all time :)

  • soon as i heard the letters "BB" i thaught "thrill is gone" ^^ sounds amazing, would it be any good if used over a distorted amp with tubes but only used lightly? Im trying to get a more PUNCHY sound for powerschords and a boost for solos.

  • Lmao $39 !..It has fuck all audio artifacts. Ive seen boutique crap costing 400 bux that isnt anywhere near as clean as this. Great score .

  • why is it called TUBE overdrive?

  • For surely it reproduces the sound of lamps amp, and lamps are also called tubes, i think

  • i know what a tube is, but i wondered why it's called so. is it becouse it has tone simiar to tube amp natural distortion?

  • i think yes

  • cool. thanks

  • @shiknalt

Because it is a copy (or trying to hook into that marketing) of the famous Ibanez Tube Screamer.

Which is named that way because it makes your tubes scream ;-) These pedals are meant to be used in front of tube amps, they react to it like they should.

  • This pedal = TS-9 (the same sound ...)

  • It cost 20§ in Sweden.

  • 2:57 Great

    "YEAHH!!"

  • I don't even like guitars much, but I liked your playing.

  • hehe thanks mate! :)

  • Nice playing man.

  • cheers dude! :)

  • did you know that this video is on behringer's website on th vintage tube overdrive's produt page??

  • Yeah I do, Behringer USA was too lazy to write me back in regards to using my videos. They started to then it got passed around and no one bothered in the end. Kind of what I was expecting to be honest. I belive they are using all of my videos

  • i did not know your thoughts on that, i just wanted to let you know :]

  • kick ass , much better that the tube series demos , is this a copy of the ibanez tube screamer?.

id thik i ll buy this toy

  • yeah it is :)

  • its a good pedal isnt it

  • yes have a listen lol

  • great playing bud, Im buying this pedal for sure

  • can you plz tell me what you are playing?

  • blues licks

  • what do you think about TO800?? does it sound same as if you put this to tube amp or transistorized amp?? we want to buy one. is this pedal hard???? is it hi - gain??

  • Great sound. I ordered one myself one minute ago. I like your SRV/BB king hybrid phrasing !

BTW, am I wrong to say the backingtrack is "the thrill is gone" from the great BB himself ?

I'm not a lefty myslef, but power to the lefties ! (Knopfler, after all, is a lefty playing like a righty)

  • What guitar are you using?

  • Gibson ES 335

  • Hey nice playing man.

This pedal sounds great and im considering one but i heard the durability and the electronics are crap.

They kind of die after a long time.

How old are ur behringer pedals and do you think they will last long?

  • I've had mine for over 2 years now and it's been bashing around the back of my amp all that time. Mine in particular has lasted ages. It out lived my metal Ibanez TS7 easily which I got about 6 months out of. My mate dropped his on a hard floor and his broke but I've dropped mine stacks and had no issues so who knows. My TS7 was well looked after as well I think with all electronics u never can tell. :) Plus Plastic doesn't rust :)

  • Technically, because plastic bends on impact it should resist drops on hard floors better, because the impact is absorbed before it reaches the components ... :D

But Boss pedals don't rust either ;) don't know about Ibanez...

  • hello, can some explain me how to put a 9V battery in it ?

    thanx a lot

  • ok, go to the store, look in the electronics department, and buy an ac plug. those things eat up battery faster than rose odonnell eats cake. its much more economical to get the plug xD

  • I just got this for £25 and a blues overdrive for £20 bargin

  • wow this sound great and it's cheap

  • How would this sound with a Boss MT-2 through a solid state amp? I've heard that Tube pedals add overtones to the distortion.

  • It would be most useful on a clean channel to get the benefit of an overdrive sound. it would thicken a distortion channel up if you use it, but it's not really that sort of heavy sound.

  • hey mate..yep i just bought this pepal about 2 hours ago and im in shock thought i was making a mistake by buying a cheap light plastic pedal pluged in to my bugera 333 combo with my squire 60s strat a fairly cheapish set up all round?and it sound unreal great classic rock and srv tones love it...

  • awesome :) I A/B it with the classic Ibanez Tubescreamer (original japanese 80's one) and there's no difference in the tone haha it was funny to see that in person. Glad you love it.

  • Does Behringer make a metal version of Overdrive or watever ...sorry not to cluey about this stuff

  • you can buy distortion pedals. overdrive is more subtle and less gainy/crunchy.

  • It sounds like it's got that warm fuzzy SRV tone. Or is that just your fingers? :)

  • Both :)

  • shit I was in the groove and video stops ^^

    good job ;)

  • hehe thanks man

  • Graet demo!

  • Thank you :)

  • Excellent demo

  • Thanks Marc

  • Shane, I put this pedal in the closet

a few times. But then I keep bringing

it back out to place on my pedalboard.

It has a bit more tone like you said

than my TS-7 on the TS-9 setting.

I was comparing them last night side

by side and that's what I found out.

But the TS-7 HOT side is really deeper.

I might eventually make a demo, too.

    Stu

  • loved your demo dude, awesome stuff!

  • toca pra caralho ! parabéns

  • Just so everyone knows, this is an EXACT TS808. Down to the values on the caps.

  • there is a behringer/ibanez a/b video on youtube somewhere it's pretty awesome to hear zero difference in tone :)

  • is it possible to get close to this tone with a vox ad15vt or would i still need the pedal?

  • Great demo vid. I have one & for the price it's amazing. I've A/B'd this with an original TS9 & TS808 & the Behringer has more tonal range & actually sounds better. Plastic case is tougher than it looks, but the rotary knobs lack the 'solid' resistance feel of the Ibanez-but then it's a 6th of the price of a TS808! My only concern is reliability. Mine developed a switching fault where the pedal switched itself on and off. It's been sent back & hopefully I'll get a replacement shortly. Rich

  • Ive had mine for ages now and its been rolling round the back of my amp since I got it and never had a problem. My friend had one and it broke the first time it fell on a wooden floor. That said, mines fallen out my car, our my amp, on the floor and Ive had zero issues. I guess it's luck of the draw. My old Ibanez pedal broke within the first 12 months and I've had the behringer longer than that now.

  • Ditto that! I remember buying my TO800 back in 2006 just to try it out for a mere $25. I already had a Japanese Boss SD-1 Super OD, and the TO800 sounded better out of the gate. Opened it up and saw the familiar JRC4558 op amp as was in the SD-1 (also in Ibanez TS9 and TS808). I've never put the SD-1 back in my pedal board. The TO800 has stayed and has been quite reliable in my experience regardless of the cheap housing and knobs.

  • Thank you many times over for posting this. I have tried so many overdrive pedals and wasted tons of cash. I was very impressed with your video and figured that the pedal costs so little that it was worth the try. I purchased it and have used it ever since. It is open, airy and natural sounding, and it is dead quiet. This thing cannot be beat if you are lookng for natural sounding overdrive at any price.

  • thanks mate, no problems at all. Yep, these pedals kick arse indeed! I used it live again tonight and I really enjoy it.

  • I am glad you made this vid coz people usually bash the tone with their chugging E's and I needed to hear some good chops with it. coz i like playing along with SRV and ZZ Top. I dont need gain i just gotta get that fat chunky warm tone

  • What do you think of Marshall pedals like the bluesbreaker and the other 2 overdrives

  • they are good. I dont think the marshalls are as smooth. The BO100 is a copy of the marshall version which has more gain than the pedal in this demo. If you like your blues rock you might need to choose a different pedal than this. This is great for blues but doesn't have as hot out put as the other mentioned. :) they are all good pedals. It really depends on what you want to play.

  • Thanks

  • the only behringer thing i had was an ampli and dude trust me it was the worst ampli ive ever had, but i like the tone you got here and at the same time i need a overdrive pedal so i think im gonna check it in the store since i dont have the money to buy ultra-pro-killer pedals. BTW, what is that guitar?

  • these pedals are great otherwise I wouldn't have put any videos up. :) The guitar is a Gibson ES-335. The behringer amps are horrible, I agree. What I can say for behringer is this. They make some awesome products not only for their price but in comparison with brands 4x the price and they make some aweful stuff as well. Youtube is great for finding out what is good or not ;) Glad this helps.

I am using a peavey bandit 112 in this video which is a killer amp for the price/tone :)

    Shane

  • Right on man! Great playing and a great pedal. I have a few of these. But I use them to drive my Marshall heads. Sounds as great as any tube screamer to my ears.

  • by the way... nice chops.. tastey.

  • dude.. that thing is harsh and killing your tone. The only saving grace in your sound is your guitar's excellent tone (which would make anything sound good). Dump that solid state POS and get you an HT overdrive.

  • Use your ears and not your brainwashed ego.

  • i like the sound of this pedal i might get one

was that backing track "the thrill is gone" it sounded like it

  • oh right it is i missed that the first time around lol

  • Yepo it was :)

  • sweet

  • what guitar is that im a lefty too

  • Gibson ES-335 :)

  • I'm a lefty as well I would get an es 335 but don't have enough money so getting epiphone dot instead lol

  • Those Ep Dot's are amasing guitars. Still the best guitar in the price range hands down. They sound great, I had one for years! :) They play awesome.

  • yeeh ive got one and a to800 and it together they sound amazing

  • love the "yeah" just after you've engaged the pedal in the BB king bit. glad i'm not the only one who does it sometimes... :o)

  • hehe thanks :P

  • i play mostly metal.. But i'm lookin to start playin blues.. i've learned a few licks but i don't really know where to start.. What songs would you recomend for a beginner like me?

  • Get a BB King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Eric Clapton and SRV album and see what sort of style you like best and go from there :)

  • is that the ES-335.....??? the coolest guitar ever spawned in gibson's nashville custom shop?? (correct me if im wrong in location)

  • yep it is :)

  • great playing and blues technique man

  • Thank you :)

  • Great playing

  • awesome playing!

I have that pedal its amazing for the price - great for an srv tone if you have a strat

  • You rock.

  • Pretty good mate,

    which amp are you using?

    Cheers

  • For blues should I get this or the BO100?

  • you said you put the tone forward cause u were playing humbuckers. does this have to be done with all pedal if playing with humbuckers?

  • You have a very thick accent

  • Compared to how most australians sound I don't think i do but all i can say is LOL ! :)

  • ya lol ur accent isnt bad, compared to some i heard but i think accents are cool I can do some good ones :)

  • So which one do you prefer now, the OD400 or T0800?

  • Well the OD400 is a new sound because I've been using the TO800 for ages so I really like it. That said, I found the OD400 not as instantly awesome to get the tone I want but after a quick turn of the knobs it's great. I must say it kicks arse with a humbucker guitar I love it with my 335. But I also love the 800 as well. It's win/win. If u like vintage tone go the 800 if u want a bit more kick in the sound go the new 400 :)

  • power to the leftys

  • Good demo...I believe you are right, Behringer does get a bad rap, but the pedals aren't bad...Particularly if you go to jam sessions at bars and don't want to bring your expensive pedals to play. I have the Behringer leslie simulator and it's very close to my Hughes Kettner and Option 5 pedals which are super expensive. Great guitar playing by the way!

  • If more people weren't influenced to spend 10x more on the same thing, people would really enjoy these pedals. I can't say they are all good but the ones I have are excellent and I like some of them more than my boutique pedals which cost a fortune. Never leave the house without a behringer rattling round in the back of the amp :)

  • I have it next to me right now. It is heavy and good tone

  • when you buy it what do you get with it, what cable or stuffs like that

  • pedal alone. SOMETIMES the store you buy it from will include a power adapter.

  • ok, but there are two cables i think, one you put in the pedal and one to the amp, am i right?? Im new to pedals thanx for answering

  • correct yep, u need to go from guitar to pedal out to amp :) - Shane

  • nope, just the pedal and case like all other pedals on the market :)

  • ok thank you

  • g' day mate

  • they are 29.95 here in america.can anyone tell how all the other behringer pedals are in general...cant find any reviews or anything anywhere

  • what pedal are u interested in?

  • the compressor/limiter and the equilizer mostly

  • sounds great men , nice pedal , but the guitarrist is most important , you rock .

  • thanks mate :)

  • I got mine in exchange for a pack of smokes. great pedal for blues and fusion.
