I will never forget the very first time I heard this song, I went around all mahavishnu's discs and came this one los obscure gem: Dream, what an absolutely fantastic name that makes me wonder, this the apocalypse song and in my opinion has one of the best endings a song could have, the end up from 9:27 its just beauty itself.
i'm so glad you posted this!!! you really have made my day,if not year!!!! awesome song...one of the greatest compositions of all time, and your the only one to post it...crying shame.......at least you did though!!! thanks again!!
The live version on "Nothingness and Eternity" is amazing, but I actually think I might prefer the studio precision of this one. Either way, I think it is probably their best composition.
My first taste of Mahavishnu was Inner Mounting Flame in '95...I finally heard Birds of Fire a couple years ago...now I'm discovering the rest of the catalogue, and I'm finding the Trident Sessions to be very tasty...a little more smooth and accessible than the early stuff.
"Dream" is really a dream...Between Nothingness & Eternity was and "is" a unbelievable musical moment...I'd like to know if someone in that day of 1973 was in that Central Park concert and...catch a video (or photos) of the birth of Between Nothingness...
I want the funkiness from 4:20 on to be its own 10 minute jam.
