He did 4:15 yesterday in winning a World Cup race. Today he went sub-1:02 in winning the 1000m. It's impossible to predict what he will do. I would not rule out a road career also.

@oldaardvark Obviously he's one of the best on the track. but he does short distance stuff, so if he wanted to have a road career he'd probably have to give up short distance track to train his extreme-arobic system for rides in the hundreds of kilometers. just a thought

@davidwill6 he won the us pro tt this weekend and got 8th in the road race. i'd say he's doing alright on the road.

@TobyRosen When i say 'road career' i mean the tour, the giro, california, oz etc.. he wouldn't be able to keep up with the top performers of today like the schleck bros, contador and guys like Hesjedal who are making their name better known. but he's obviously thought of his long term career.

I fixed gear is still referred to as a single speed. A bike with a free WHEEL can also be a single speed. Some riders will choose to use a flip flop hub so they have the option.

actually they use fixed gears. singel speeds have a free gear. you cant coast on a track bike
