I've learn that it's like a roller coaster, you just got to get out when you are at the high level, and it's discipline. When I first started playing, I would play really good in the first hour, and half of the times, I would lose the money. I'm learning that I just need to leave while I'm ahead, and don't be greedy. I come back another day.

But i was too greedy, my game got worse after an hour, and it's more difficult to double up or tripple up if you have a lot of chips on your table. And you can't use what is televised as an accurate depiction of his poker skills. For all we know, the producers of those shows might not like Daniel and purposely show him fucking up and omit his good plays.

If Raymer had AA, KK, AK, KQ, or KJ.. he would almost always bet the flop, cause any diamond, aces or 9.. would be bad cards for him..
Gabe kaplan also says that Raymer has been very aggressive, so would he really slow down if he had hit that flop...
The overshove on the river.. makes the call hard, but he is repping so thin.

Pretty easy call. Raymer checks the flop. Anybody in their right mind would not check the flop in position with king or jack cause they would want to know if opponent had flush draw.

std, raymer doesn't check back a king on that board and risk being drawn, he can't have a 2 cause he would check back the turn with showdown value, no point in betting it HU, the 2 on the river is essentially a blank, the only thing that would make sense is 8's full and because raymers range is super wide there it's a pretty standard call. raymers just to stupid to fire the K OTF cause he is retarded obv betting the flop then barreling the turn is optimal from raymer. besides folding pre

Pretty standard heads up call. Chances are decent hes doing this with a jack as well and will most likely split the pot. BUT Raymer bet really fast on the river which is a big sign your bluffing. I would have called as well

I'm ranked number seven in my home league, which has over 200 players. I have been playing poker for years. I've heard many commentators say "he doesn't like folding" about almost every player. Dwan, Ivey, Hellmuth, all of them. No player likes folding, so your argument is invald. Again, a "calling station" is a derogatory statement made about new players who don't know HOW to fold.

Pretty easy call the way the hand played out.Raymer wouldn't check a hand like top pair on the flop,maybe a set but that's pretty unlikely.The only hand he could really have played this way that beats Daniel is 88,and judging from Raymer's snapshove on a blank river screams that he doesn't have that hand basically ever,he would at least think for a while and value bet,because from his perspective it's pretty tough for daniel to have anything better than a Jack there..

@coreycunninghamkarl Maybe some more passive players but I don't really see and aggressive player like Raymer checking back with top pair here,especially against a calling station like Daniel.Since he's gonna be bluffing on that board most of the time when he cbets he has to balance strong hands into that cbetting range as well,otherwise he'll be too predictable.

@dothequack it's easy anyway, not just if you see the cards: when you play Heads Up the second pair is a very good hand. Maybe it wasn't an absolute easy call, but if you play against an aggressive player who bluffs a lot (and Raymer definitely is that) you definitely can't fold that.
