@Syndicateman I wouldn't exactly call Kikaider kiddy.

Ishinomori has many adult works, he's just most known for his Rider franchise. All of his stuff though is pretty dark, it wasn't until later they started making it more poppy and universally kid friendly. Check out his work that started it all, Skull Man if you want an idea of how so. They recently remade it as a tv live pilot and anime.

Nah it came out in the usa too but it just got send straight to dvd. I cant remember when it came out seeing that I just found a old copy when I rented it.

wait, just to ask and clarify things: was this video from the film "MECHANICAL VIOLATOR HAKAIDER?", we haven't seen it yet. but in all seriousness, HAKAIDER is one of our favorite Shotaro Ishinomori-created characters. I recall, Hakaider is originally an antagonist in the Jinzo Ningen Kikaider (and Kikaider-01 series). It's a good thing that he's portrayed in a very different (and vindicating) light this time! Banzai to all Hakaider fanatics!

the name spoke for itself! MECHANICAL VIOLATOR as he is. Just to re-instate, Hakaider is indeed one of Ishinomori's greatest characters. To share, another one of our favorite Ishinomori character is Shadowmoon. :-)
