I absolutely love that Holmes here is shown thinking about proof. Not the usual silliness of just him thinking some absurd sequence of events is perfectly obvious, even when any rational person would think he was wrong. This version ROCKS.
Oh, so very charming... One of my favourite quotations of his. I just cannot understand why on the one hand they chose to take over quite many phrases directly from the books and on the other hand add so much nonsense like that seance or Holmes' consumption of drugs while on a case.
But what somehow bothers me the most is that it's Christmas. Why?! I do love Christmas, but I do not see any connection between it and the Hound Of The Baskervilles...
@AleeraGorvan Lol I'm thinking the same things, sitting here racking my brain trying to understand the point of these fucking rewrites, they're like chinese water torture in that trying to find the pattern or logic will drive you COMPLETELY INSANE. they seem entirely without purpose except to irritate readers of ACD. 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' and the original story definitely ain't broke. I still hold the original as the gold standard for a mystery story.
@cityofwhat The originals are hardly workable. ACD wrote very few stories that make sense. "The speckled Band" a doctor that trains a snake with a whistle, a saucer of milk to climb a rope??? Snakes don't drink milk, don't hear, and can't climb ropes. " The "Muskgrave Ritual" A brilliant butler asks a woman that hates him to hold up a trap door, when any idiot could have figured out to just prop it open with a plank. Just to name a few. Ten year olds know better. They have to be changed.
when part 6 ended and all you see is the running to the sound of the screams...it cut off and i yelled "DAMNIT, WHO DIED?!" and my mom just look at me like what?! cuz i was sitting next to her in the living room with my headphones in....who has 2 thumbs and and feels realllyyyyy stupid?! THIS GIRL!! *points at self with thumbs*
you've got to watch this without reading the book first, I guess it would look really scary then, especially with Holmes' laugh. Unfortunately I practically memoriesed the Hound of the Baskervilles, so the surprises were kinda ruined. Still, lovely movie. The actress who plays Mrs Stapleton is very pretty.
@playgirllou123 Seldon was wearing Henry's clothes which Mr Barrymore was ask to dispose of by Henry. So when Henry told Mr Barrymore to get rid of his clothes Mr Barrrymore gave them to Seldon.

I just wrote a great screed defining BAD in re Roxburgh's Sherlock but it seems to have disappeared I will rewrite it some other time when I have eaten and slept
well, if you had wrote something tangible and worth reading you would have an argument at least. However you dont, so goodnight, sleep well and dont come back. :)

haha Stapleton played Dr Jack Seward in Copolla's Bram Stoker's Dracula movie! I just realized that....recognized the voice.
Holmes and Watson always reminded me of a married couple.
