damn I only bought the 12" single because it was the first one of the first to be totally

digitally produced and mastered. the sound quality was amazing. Please someone post the song in a high bit rate. the highhats and the song was so clear. this doesnt do the song justice. muffeld compared to the original.

To me, Claudia Brucken encapsulates everything that was good about the 80s! Through Propaganda to Act - how the hell was this track not MASSIVE?!!? - to her small solo output, she was that 30s Berlin dilettante incarnate, smart lyrics, hooky music, detached elegance itself! Always looking like a star - Perfection! Still is...! Looking forward to that Best of album...and the new stuff!

@carl3684 Couldn't agree with you more - this should have been a huge hit. One of those great 80s 'wall of sound' industrial humdingers with those swooping strings, angelic warblings and Claudia's occasional squalks like the cherry on a particularly rich and fattening cake. Claudia looks like she's having an absolute ball in the video - who can blame her with that hairdo and those dresses?

There are a select few songs in this world that bring full-body euphoria for me. The version, "Remixed, for Stephanie Beacham", found on the CD maxi, is perhaps one of the finest examples where this happens. Impeccably well done. "That's Entertainment" is also very good, while the "Naked Civil" is merely just okay.

The mixdown above is unique to this video.

Claudia Brucken was HOT HOT HOT...!

I Ioved Propaganda and "Act" were an interesting spin-off band. I have this on a 7" single and a brilliant extended version on a CD single - the longer mix is awesome!!!

If you've never heard Propadanda's album "A Secret Wish" you've really missed out. Nearly 25 years after its release, it's still in my Top 10 albums ever.....

Ah yes, ZTT would do an extended mix, but it would still contain the entire content of the 7'' version. Slave To The Rhythm another excellent example.

@daftdeejay: A Secret Wish, namely the original German CD pressing, is still, twenty years on, my favourite album of all time. Many others have come so, so close to being even better, but that album — that version of A Secret Wish — is a symphony.

To see it released again for sale in completely remastered form would be wordlessly priceless. No other version comes close. In the meantime, I will hold onto that 1985 disc for the rest of my natural life.

Good song and album (Laughter, Tears and Rage). It was really good to see the video - thanks! I have given it 5 stars, but I'm not sure it actually adds anything to the song. Much better than the videos of today though, most of which are nothing more than soft porn.

It's a typically stylish ZTT 80s video. I'm not too keen on the words being splashed up every so often, but I think it helps put a picture to the song for those of us too young to remember Yuppies ;) (At 1:13, what's that supposed to be in the envelope? Is it "guilt and sorrow"?)

This song is utterly excellent and simply perfect, a mix of clever lyrical sensibilities, pop and orchestra and a staggering production effort by Steve Lipson it is literally the whole "lexicon of love" album in 4 minutes and 34 seconds and it comes very highly recommended so have a listen!
