Hi Lee, I purchased one of your Air Keys - and I'm having a ball with it. I was wondering, are you a Trumpet Player? -- I'm a trumpet player and your air key seems to feel more "natural" to me than a straight key for sending CW :-)
Though when I was a kid I had a teenage ham friend who could reliably whistle "RY RY RY etc..." with 170 Hz shift into a microphone hooked up to any terminal unit (TU = prehistoric TNC) and get it to print out on a Teletype machine. This was good entertainment at the hamfest flea markets!
Top speed is as fast as you can train your tongue to work. Lee has been able to do 20+ wpm. No, it does not do RTTY. Neither does a regular key. KE5SAB
Thanks, Randy for pointing that out. In trying to keep the video short we left out that part. It does plug into the standard 1/4 mono jack plug on the transmitter. Just like a regular key.
