legato mode (clips programmed to launch other clips) is a very very powerful tool. cool video here. it seems like you have all your instruments setup to switch at the same time, try having them switch at different intervals to get a more gradual phasing in and out of song elements.

That's not what legato mode means. It means you can switch a clip in the middle of the first clip playing and the second clip will start where the first one was.
