  • Silvio Dante !

  • The show is good, the musicians are awesome but the public suck. It's just a bunch of guys in suit... Where is the original power of the clash ???!

  • merci joe

  • I love bassist's punch ! :P

  • wow that's some raging testosterone (sp?) on that stage

    WELL DONE BOYS

always love how Steve Van Zandt looks like he's clinging to that mic as if his life depended on it

one of the best songs ever

  • I remember seeing this at the time. It sounded awesome - a huge adrenaline rush.

And to those that say Springsteen, etc, had nothing to do with punk; well, the Clash had evolved WAY beyond punk by the time they recorded this. They were the definition of timeless rock and roll.

  • Springsteen and Van Zandt are more punk than 99.9% of self-described punks. I'm talking about the idiots who think being punk is being an asshole jerk.

  • So whose the bassist and Drummer?

  • Tony Kanal from No Doubt and Pete Thomas from Elvis Costello and the Attractions.

  • thnx 4 this video!!!

  • I like how most of the dissenters here are acting like they just gathered up a bunch of nobodies. Springsteen and Costello alone are, at the very least, on a par with The Clash, Van Zandt was in the fucking E-Street Band, and Grohl was in two of the biggest alt-rock bands of the last twenty years. It was an awesome thing to see them all on stage together, they did a passionate reading of the song, and those solos were fucking brilliant. I can't believe PUNK fans are complaining about sloppiness.

  • Could not agree with you more. Maybe, they could have had a different bassist than Kanal bouncing around out there. But the rest of the crew is a freaking all-star team.

  • this is just fuckin awesome!

  • aha,thanks...so where is Steven

I'd don't know how he looks like

    I just heard of him

  • steven is on the far left....then grohl....then springsteen....then costello....

  • aha

    he is little Steven

I thought that lillr Steveb wasn't steve van

    zandt

  • what a great combination+

    little Steven on bass

  • actually bass player is tony from no doubt....

  • Pretty good, but Joe Strummer at his prime was a better vocalist than all of them, even Springsteen. By the way, Steven Van Zandt seems to be struggling with pitching his voice while Dave Grohl, a former drummer, does a great job. Go figure!

  • you're RIGHT dude!!!!!!!!!

  • That song was in "Die Another Day".

  • thats him from the sopranos lol

  • this is so awesome i luv it!

  • Amazing.

  • man... those guitar solos werent good... they pissed me off

  • actually they were amazing

  • Yeah, because the Clash were so well known for their guitar solos...(huh?)

  • for some reason it just feels so stupid, especially the part where steven van zandt sings in a british accent but i could be wrong.

  • did you really just call him the "sopranos guy?"

  • Go back to listening to Britney you moron. This ROCKED.

  • not a very good tribute

  • London calling-awesome song, RIP Joe Strummer.

    A great tribute to him

  • It was a tribute so it's not all about the quality, it was why they did it. And really the quality wasn't that bad. Joe deserved it and I think he would have been pleased. And it did suck that not everyone stood up for a departed legend, although I'm not sure that it was just the rappers.

  • awesome tribute. i think tony canal is such a solid bassist. and of course bruce springsteen, elvis costello, dave grohl, and the sopranos guy are the shit.

  • lol, all the guitarist are standing in a row, but the bassist is just jumpin around in the back

  • i enjoyed it, a great TRIBUTE to the late great Joe Strummer

  • the worst london calling ever fuck it

  • you missed the bloody point - it was a tribute to Joe Strummer!

  • Awesome. One of the best pieces of music I ever saw on TV. A perfect tribute to Joe Strummer.

  • Sweet video, these guys are not The Clash, that's true. But they did do a pretty good job.

  • I agree with branca, stupid yankees! God save the queen!!!! NewCastle...

  • how can you agree with that dick-head branca it was a great tribute

  • that perfomance was sick!!!! in a good way of course! Love Bruce, xxx Love Elvis! xxx

  • Sorry guys, but you're not the Clash. Elvis, go back to doing songs for dippy romantic comedies, Bruce, go back to your painfully boring music.

  • dude they were his friends, it was a fucking tribute, gorw the fuck up old man.

  • shut it u its just a fucking tribute

  • who the hell do you think you are that tribute was bloody fantastic

  • Absolutely awesome version. I have been looking for this!

  • I gotta agree with Branca- not impressed. Not 1 of these guys gave a good vocal delivery not saying theyre bad singers but they just didnt a very good job with this song.

  • This is one of the most amazing live performances I have ever seen.

  • they should have put the no doubt bass player in a small dark room behind the stage. that kid is so fruking gay. and why does bruce say osamas there too (2.50)

  • he doesnt say osamas there too he says "yes i was there too". Joe was great and this is the perfect tribute and a great version

  • he says: yes, i was there too

    (london calling)

well some of it was true.

  • that was the best london calling cover i've ever seen

  • stupid yankies, they ruin the song.God save the queen!!!Uk!

  • whats wrong with it? Elvis C is from the UK and the Clash were Internationalists...

  • Actually, it was a pretty ropey version. A band I was in with four girls tried it differently with acoustic guitars and violins, but sadly no version exists.

  • What a surprise, one of my faves sung by 3 of mine.

  • Tony Kanal from No Doubt on bass? Pete Thomas from The Attractions on drums?

  • I believe so.

  • i hate the fact that everyone gave em a standing ovation except 4 all those rappers, i think that was rude.

  • Thank you for sharing this one... Joe was the greatest and this is the best tribute.

  • that is pure awsomeness right there, holy crap

  • That looks so cool... I love this version I don't know why. It just looks cool

  • Dave Grohl... Keanu Reeves.... you be the judge.
