His views were speculative and many of them probably wrong or just a rough simplification. But I think he was right in one aspect, love is a natural imperative for the reproduction of our genes.However, we humans are good at cheating on our genes (contraceptives, for example).

Homosexuality is present in many animals, but it is still a mystery for Biology.

@RatherBeWatchingPorn Schopenhauer said about suicide: the act of commiting suicide is also a act driven by the will of life. Its an act of not wanting to live on the given circumstances. Suicide is for Schopenhauer a very selfish act.
