  • @creativerosger

    may be not

  • for me THE VERVE ended after A Northen Soul...........2 ALBUMS some of the greatest music ive ever heard

  • Love this whole cd. Shame on the people who associate this band with only "bittersweet symphony"

  • Euphoria

  • this song is just too short!!

  • one of the greatest albums ever.

  • tremenda banda

  • Back in the day, when they were good!

  • Back in the day, when they were good!

  • I love that this track is titled "Verve". Not "The Verve". Hats off to the upload.

  • Tomorrow night...smoking a few joints, drinking a beer and cranking this album up on my CD player. Turning off the lights, closing the blinds...it's going to be just magic.

  • Never get tired of this. Can't really say I like their newer stuff but at least I have this to fall back on. They have become a big influence on a lot of other younger bands.

  • this is music!!!!

  • high on some verve right now, anyone want some?

  • THE GREATEST SONG OF ALL TIME

  • Oh damn, i knew the Verv were awesome but this album has blown my fkn mind.

  • WTF?

An astonishing opening for an album that has really shaped me.

The Verve's "shoegazer era" was definitely their best moment. I don't mean britpop stuff is bad, in fact, it is terrific but... guys.... this is soooo bad-ass.

Nick Mccabe.... what a piece of guitarist! A great Kevin Shield's "musical child".

  • wooow McCabe!

  • Must be listened to LOUDLY!!!!

  • @shermobad and while high :)

  • I remember hearing them for the first time on Lollapalooza's second stage back in 94 I think. I kept hearing this amazing music and had to find it. It was cool to be only one of about 30 people entranced by them live on this little stage in the middle of a field.

  • love it not one single dislike and if ever someone clicks on that button i'll track them down and.......

  • @Fgh2rvb relax buddy !!??

  • listen to the lyrics as they melt into the riffs man it speaks to your sould when your on acid it expands your euphoria to another level of postiveness lets do it .... ill see you on the other side cheeers

  • listen to the lyrics as they melt into the riffs man it speaks to your sould when your on acid it expands your euphoria to another level of postiveness lets do it .... ill see you on the other side cheeers

  • read an article about McCabe's "go to" equipment that gets us up there in the clouds.A vintage Watkins "Copicat" echo & Stratocaster & ES series Gibson. You can find a guy on YT that gives a fair demo of the "Copicat".in action.

  • Verve , Bjork , & PJ Harvey were the finest bands to come out of the 90's.

  • I prefer Paul McCartney's song Press!!

  • This album changed the way I played guitar forever. A masterpiece. How Richard Ashcroft can realease the smouldering turd that he did recently is unbelievable when you hear what he used to be part of! Bring on the Black Ships

  • This song always influences my state of mind. It´s like a big discharge of energy, sometimes good and sometimes bad energy....

Listening to this song and closing my eyes, I empty my head.

It´s a magic sound for me since the first time I enjoyed this track...

  • this takes me right back to wondering around some woods on acid, top days

  • @MyAshcroft Thumbs up to that, brother.

  • It's a shame the people responsible for this masterpiece of an album will be forever remembered, by most people, for Bittersweet Symphony.

  • @MercuryClock Didn't they breakup just prior to it's release & then reform w/ out McCabe for a tour ? No doubt a combination of urging by the" suits" at their label & Ashcroft's withdrawl pains.Anyway you are so right-ironic isn't it?They had to gear down (Symphony) to gain some radio play in the States.Amazing .that song was probably in the "round file" with the coffee grounds.

  • I love listening to this stoned.I get thrown into a relaxed trance for an awesome 4 minutes

  • Pass da pipe ma brotha ...

  • Man, does this take me back to some high flying nights in college, may have been the best album i owned back then and still a stellar listen, i swear you can soar on it......

  • I see Verve people....

  • takes your soul to a journey across the astral..ethereal planes of peace and meditation

  • This record is pure beauty....the intuitive shamans of mellifluous chaos and incorporeal turbulent travelogues open the gates and the Cosmos becomes a wonderful mess...the universe...the stars...beyond electric storms....thank you The Verve

  • i love shoegaze! and this work from the verve is just amazing!

  • These are like the sounds I hear in my soul.

    I love this album!!!! 100/100

  • perfect way to open A Storm in Heaven as it describes it the best way

  • I love this song and this album. I´d like to know bands playing similar music.

If you know any band like The Verve, please tell me. Thanks!

  • @kalaikus. Check out "We're On Our Own" by Exit Calm.

  • Good song, my friend, very very good song. I love this kind of music.

I´ll continue investigating about this band.

Thanks from the North of Spain!

  • this album came out of the shoegaze scene and there's plenty of those bands around but none as groovy as this unfortunately! You could try Slowive's early stuff, ride and sway: 'millia pink & green ep'

  • @kalaikus

You might like Spacemen 3, as this album was heavily inspired by their music. Other than that I can't really say, this is a pretty unique album.

  • @kalaikus: have a listen to Kitchens of Distinction's '3rd time we opened the capsule'. It's not exactly the same as the verve; but every great band is unique.

  • havent heard this for ages, and just remebered how genius this album is. pure class. most bands today cant compare or compete

  • Same here, i dug this out the other day and cant stop listening to it, their best album by far! I got into this when i was about 13, blew me away!!

  • wish i could have seen the verve back then. Never got bored of this album either, every song is incredible. mccabes guitar work on this is no less than perfect.

  • I agree.

This is my favorite album of all time, not a single weak track.

And McCabe's shimmering guitar textures, along with the booming rhythm sections and Richard's voice, sends me on a voyage....

  • yeah they were awsome..ashcroft still the bloody same today..a genius..in everyway

  • @glasgowdmon it is my favorite album in the word u speak the truth

  • this was one of many gems included on the Sliver Soundtrack. the movie bombed, but the soundtrack was awesome.

  • This album was fucking brilliant

  • no, this album IS fucking brilliant :)

  • Is it just me,

Or does the opening of the cave get brighter as you stare at it???

  • Ahhhggg.........the light argghhhhh.

No, actually it is just you.

  • This is a beautiful album

    It's so dissonant and expressive...

The sound conveys feelings that words simply cannot

    Thank you for posting!!!!

  • una marAVILLA DE KANCION :)

  • Amazing band and song

  • Greatest band I've ever heard.

  • You're and idiot.

  • tit

  • Its something the likes of which reminds me one night I was laying down in a park under the stars staring at the stars watching the multi-colored acid induced patterns play with stars and moon, this song is unparalleled.

  • I really love this fuckin' song.

A Storm In Heaven is a gret album. "Beautiful" I must say.

  • μουσικη για να ταξιδευεις.......ψυχεδελεια....

  • Truly one of the best album openers

    Terrific album

  • This is so good music, I'm so glad i discovered them
