  • leonard's strategy so far here reminds me of ali's when he said he was gonna 'dance' in his fight with the fearsome puncher, foreman. it's a way of drawing a very dangerous puncher into deeper water where the puncher becomes out of his element. hearns learns a big lesson on not being enough of a well rounded fighter, ie., his defense was lacking...even the common sense strategy of holding onto his opponent when in trouble was lacking. leonard was a very "smart" boxer.

  • Toomas Hears legs were wiggling after the 6th rd you can tell

  • the let hook by Leonard was great

  • what a fight!!

  • hearns*

  • dude hearts would have been so much better if he knew how to tie up

  • tommy hearns was a beast!!

  • Again count the number of punches Hearns lands after getting hurt with that left. He lands 10-11 clean punches just in that 40 second period. And he won the first 2 minutes of that round. So how in the fuck could that be a 10-8 round? No way!.

  • @shire2005 I agree, Leonard was missing more when they fought on the end side and his most effective punches were landed while Hearns's back was against the ropes, and even then he only hit him one or two times while Hearns was also landing shots. I had it 10-9 Hearns.

  • Why would Leonard get a 10-8 score for the 6th rd after hearns won the first 2 minutes of that round and still landed several punches after being hurt.

A 10-8 round without a knockdown would be the Pac-De la Hoya fight. Not the 6th rd for sure.

  • Neither Pacquiao nor Mayweather is fighting in dis video. Shut da fucc up and enjoy dis fight or go comment on an actual Floyd or Manny clip fuccin kids.

  • SRL was one of the smartest fighters ever. Like Al Davis would say "Just Win Baby" see rnd 6 and who ever thinks SRL wasn't a fighter who couldn't fight hurt is out of their minds

  • SRL was one of the smartest fighters ever. Like Al Davis would say "Just Win Baby"

  • Why are all fights rounds scored 10-9? Even if Ray dominates the round still 10-9? You never see a fight round scored 12-7 or 10-5 or 14-8. Why is it always 10-9 even if one fighter dominates the round?

  • @shelleyinthecity fights are scored on a ten poin must system a fighter that wins the round will get 10 point the loser of the round will get 9 even if he;s being dominated.

If he got knocked down he would get an 8

  • @shelleyinthecity 10 point must system means one guy always gets 10, the loser 9 or less.

Ray SHOULD have gotten a 10-8 round in Round 7, but inexplicably, did not. A knockdown normally gets a 10-8 round, and a round where one guy gets hurt is a 10-8 round. Short of that, it's normally 10-9, unless a point is taken from a fighter.

After the fight, the main question everyone was asking is why Leonard did not get 10-8 for six and seven. Six I could see 10-9, seven was clearly 10-8.

  • Sugar Ray Leonard was ferocious in Rounds 6 & 7. And even though Thomas Hearns got in a few good punches, Leonard just kept attacking! At the end of this segment, my scorecard was Hearns: 67, Leonard: 66. Great fight!!

  • no disrespect to these great men but they would be in 50/50 fights if they were around todays fighters likepac n may..hearns wouldnt have lost to floyd or pac but ray wouldve definitly lost to floyd and pac imo..pac v ray wouldv been 50/50 cos pac isnt smart..duran beats floyd n pac tho

  • @Ronz93 sugar ray would have murdered pac...PED'S and all!! man i think ppl forget just how good ray leonard was this guy was one of the most well rounded fighters ever! he could run with the best of them but he could also fight with the best of them when he wanted to...there arent very many things if at all that pacquiao does better than ray leonard!

  • @youz1uglybish .hate me for saying this i could see khan beating pac right now..pac cant do shit when ur boxing him from range,he gets wreckless..floyd isnt busy enough for pac thats why i think he'd have a harder time..he's a stand up counterpuncher who relies on defence but with pac whos a lefty will definitley catch u from wierd angles..floyd knows this that is why he's making excuses..floyd knows the pattern of combos thrown by slow ortho fighters and pac is the opp

  • @Ronz93 ehh i dont think khan would beat pac at all..lol i dont think khans defense is where it needs to be in order to beat pacquiao..and if you dont have great defense you better have a world class chin khan has neither pacquiao will k.o him!!! mayweather is going to beat pacquiao because for 1 pacquiao will be clean (PEDS) FREE...number 2 floyd is the best counter puncher in the sport right now there is a reason ppl dont throw that many punches against floyd its not a 41 fight coincedence!

  • @Ronz93 as far as khan bro im not even sold on khan beating tim bradley much less pacquiao and mayweather..i think ppl are jumping on the band wagon way too soon when it comes to this kid..lmao who has he ever beaten?? zab judah who's never beaten an elite fighter in his career??marcos maidana a B class fighter at best who very well may have knocked khan out if given a few more rounds??a feather fisted paulie malignaggi?? a washed up marco barrera i can go on and on point is hes fought nobody!

  • @youz1uglybish yeh bro well everyone has there own opinion..people get too caught up in this "oh who has he fought bullshit! the truth is the guy is better or more dangerous than most guys on floyds resume..khan isnt the finished article but i see him as the only legitimate threat stylistically to lay the smackdown on the 2 current p4p champions..braldey isnt quick or tall enough and he certainly cant back khan off with his punches.wich is why he doesnt wanna risk taking the fight now

  • @Ronz93 i mean yeah he's a prospect!! and yes everyone is entitled to there own opinion but personally i think your level of competition is a huge deal! lmao i remember when everyone thought juan manuel lopez was the shit! im thinking in my mind gamboa will destroy this dude in 3 rounds!! this is a super fight that never happend because juan ma and his over rated ass got knocked out by orlando salido! garbage opposition can make a mediocore fighter look great things arent always what they seem!

  • @youz1uglybish lopez would ko gamboa who i think hasnt done anything yet..the guy gets shaken from a every punch he takes(lopez too) but i think lopez is bound to catch gamboa 1st and if he does its good night..gamboas chin is horrible..man i dnt rate either at all but yes they have skill and there talented..donaire smokes both men on the same night lol

  • @Ronz93 are you being sarcastic?? lol bro if not then for your sake i hope your not a gambling man!!! lol iv'e seen gamboa knocked down a couple times only to pop back up off the canvas infuriated and smashing his opponent into oblivion for the remainder of the fight! the difference in speed is so 1 sided i cant see how you feel like juan ma would hit gamboa first! gamboa fought salido and batterd him for 12 rounds they even took 2 points away from gamboa and it was still a U.D!

  • @youz1uglybish i guess its just a case of who lands 1st when its gamboa v lopez...i still dont see gamboa doing too great at higher weights or even with donaire..i cant imagine his chin holding up at 135 or above cos thats what theyr talking about doing, moving up n up..

  • I see Ali in the stands along with Jessie Jackson, Cher or Joan Collins definitely a star studded worthy event.

  • Hitman is definitely a highly skilled fighter lethal power and is actually out classing and out boxing my boy Ray Leonard....uh oh hold up GET EM RAY! GET EM!...

  • Pacquiao is faster but i think leonard has more technique

  • What happened to boxing?

  • fight of the year

  • Both of these guys would destroy pacman and mayweather

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 year right, maby thomas hears would, but only because of sheer size and power, but ray leonard would not

  • @lassedw. Pacquiao would duck both of them just like he ducked paul williams :(

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 and so what, Pacquiao is also a guy who has come up from super bantam weight, to welter weight, the size advantage would just be to mutch, and you saw what happen to paul the moment he started fighting guys his own size. Pacquiao has fought some of the best fighters of thise era, and he is a true legend just like hears and leonard

  • @lassedw the only good fighter pacquiao beat is cotto marquez won the second fight hatton sucked anyone can ko hatton DLH was weight drained clottey, marg were bums mosley's past his prime i just dont see nothing special about pacquiao

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 ohh year did you forget barrera, erik morales, and you say clottey was a bum, the guy had never bin dominatet, knockdown, or hurt in a fight, and he gave cotto a hell of a fight, and Pacquiao has won 7 world titles in 7 different weight devisions, and the only boxer ever to become the linial champion

at 4 different devision, the man is a true legend, deal with it.

  • @lassedw. Clottey was a class B fighter whio failed most of his big fights how the fuck did he get a shot at pacquiao but bradley dosent? And dont even ask about barrera and morales im getting bored of reapeting my self!!!

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 bradley at that time was hardley even a known fighter, and you say barrera was a bum, ohh year barrera was only the feather weight champion and one of the best pound-pound best fighters i the world, and clottey came up short in a lot of his big fight just like hears, atlest clottey had a gut chin unlike hears had

  • @lassedw fact is your just a hater, trying to find everything bad about todays boxers

  • @lassedw. Im no hater im just making my opinion

  • @lassedw. WOW

  • @lassedw PACQUIAOS SON WATCHES MOSLEY KO MARGARITO AND SAYS THIS

SON: DAD R U SURE U WANNA FIGHT HIM?

PACQUIAO: NO SON I AM A COWARD IM GONNA WAIT UNTIL HE AGES WATING FOR AN OPPONENT TO AGE IS A GOOD TECHNIQUE IN BOXING I LEARNT IT FROM LEONARD WHEN HE WAITED FOR HAGLER TO AGE AND CALZAGHE WHEN HE WAITED ROY JONES.....GET IT SON?

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 like i said, HATER

  • @lassedw. Nah pacroid is a ducker and hes got the retared fans ever lol u guys are worser than tha calzaghe fans LMAO

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 and your a HATER

  • @lassedw. Nah I just speak the truth and the truth hurts

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 no your justa hater, who just cant accept the fact that manny pacquiao is an all time great, your trying to take everything away that he has earnt, so year you are just a hater

  • @lassedw. And ur a thommy hearns hater. Ur trying to shit on his legacy by trying to say that pacquiao is better u little racist fuck you should be ashamed of your self :(

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 what have i tried to take away from thomas hearns, the only things that i have said, is that he was a bit chinny, and that he lost some of his biggest fight, and all of those things were tru, and i haver never said that loosing to ray leonard or hagler is a bad thing, the only guy whos a hater is you, your the one saying every one pacquiao has fought is bums, and he no were near a legend. so your the HATER not me

  • @lassedw. All I said is that pacquiao is overrated.....that just my OPINION every when someone speaks bad about my favorite boxers I dont call them haters I respect their opinion but when someone makes their opinion on pacquiao we get called haters and racist..pactards like u are very lame :(

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 and your still a HATER

  • @lassedw. Prove it...

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 dont have to, you alredy proven it with your coments

  • Comment removed

  • dam that was a real slugfest baby.

  • Pacquaio is good but he is not great, he has been beaten when he fought against smaller fighter at lightweight. For some reason all the welterweights that he as fought didn't do so well against him. I think its his natural, smaller fighter speed. If you have notice all the welter weights he has fought never really landed any really big shots on pacquiao, because of his speed, but if some one were able to connect with some power Pacquiao will go down!

  • Comparing Pacman to Leonard or Hearns is silly. Of course he'd get killed by either one. He should be compared to guys like Duran instead. Pacman is not a true welterweight, and fights at that weight to get bigger fights (no pun intended).

Put him at lightweight, and he's much more competitive. It's like comparing Hearns to guys like Archie Moore or Bob Foster at light heavyweight.

  • Hearns was truly game in every fight but when someone clocked him he would become a sitting duck. Leonard exposed this in rds. 6 and 7. Too bad the Sugerman didn't end it with a KO.

  • it actually sounded so gay when he said leonard has been able to penertrate tommy hearns....lol

  • @RJSNew you seem to gay by being so turned on by the idea of two black men penetrating each other you sick bastard...LOL

  • @ah93704 im not being turned on by it u mug looool i just thought it sounded funny

.. chingona pelea.

  • leonard doesnt want to get to close. tommy's jab is dangerous. his right hand is ready to knock leonard out.

  • @attaboy527 what are you talking about? the last two rounds was leonard basically walking down hearns trying to finish him off. and i don't know if it was due to the fact that hearns came in to the bout entirely too light, or what, but dude could simply not take leonard's shots. leonard was a good puncher, but that can mostly be attributed to his speed, but hearns is making leonard look like a monster. as soon as leonard started to open up and put his hands on him hearns just folded.

  • if hearns had a good chin he would have been the best his era

  • @loueyikpeba

Hearns could punch, but he had no chin and weak legs. I was surprised Leonard didn;t take him out in the 6th round. If there was a minute more left on the clock he more than likely would have. I do applaud Hearns for his fortitude and heart.

  • Tommy Hearns DESTROYS pac man in round 1 ! ! ! ! ! !

  • Ray had the heart of a champion because he was getting throughly outboxed by hearns, he took tommys best punches, and never lost confiedence, he never stopped believing he would win the fight

  • Leonard took on a monster in the peak of his prime, not many ppl took on a the hearns of thei generation.

  • ray is the man respect

  • @thuglyf121212 hearns was 1 ugly motherfucker but tough and was arguably the hardest puncher of all time just like tyson said

  • The body shot at .26 of the 6th Round was the punch that Manny Steward said changed the fight. It was the punch Hearns ever recovered from according to him...it was where the hunter became the hunted.

  • love hearns wearing his trunks up to his tits....what a crock of shit

  • GODDAMN!!! SUGAR RAY LEONARD is the BEST I've ever seen... BAR NONE!!!!

  • Hearns can reach across the ring with that jab.

  • no disrespect to pac or mayweather, but these are the best of the best! any boxing fan knows this without question, like someone said, cut from a dif cloth. pac and may weather are great but these guys are the blueprint.. 32 fight, 30 knockouts for hearns.. incredible. 15 rounds.. no steriods or performing inhancing drugs on the market yet. stop comparing!

  • @kojicash mayweather could fight both guys

  • this fight was on my birthday !! but i werent born lol :P

  • Tommy hearnes and sugar ray leonard........ that era of welterweights is loong gone they were cut from a different cloth compared to the welterweights of this day.... either Tommy or Sugar Ray would have killed a mayweather or pacquiao thats jus my opinion.... Their punching power and speed was too great

  • @chris012208 @chris012208 I think Aaron Pryor would have destroyed Manny, but on the other hand I think Floyd's defense and accuracy are superior to Hearns' and Leonard's, his speed is equal, power Floyd has less, so I don't know who'd win, but my money says Floyd.

  • @kingq01 i dnt like floyd a single bit but hearns, leanord wudv bin a walk in the park 4 him..i dnt see leanrd winning a single round with a guy who has a similar but more polished style with much better defence..pac wud kill leanard n give duran a 50/50 fight cos theyr both the same in my opininon

  • @Ronz93 nope duran would beat pac he'd take pac's best shots then stop him if a slow margarito culd force pac too almost take a knee think wat duran would do to him as for heaarns to much reach advantage pac is kind of talior made for hearns, hearns jab would be the factor plus his size since the wouldn't be able to fight him weight drained hearns late stoppage

  • @Ronz93 Sugar Ray Leonard is no stranger when it comes to handling defensive fighters ex. Wilfred Benitez & Floyd sr. who I must admit isn't as skilled with the philly Shell as Floyd. Sugar Ray Leonard also definetly has the punching power to get Floyd out of there. It has also been stated that to even have a chance agaist Floyd you need a good jab. I think Oscar keeped the first 8 rds even by using his good jab and lost the last 4. SRL has everything he needs to beat Floyd.

  • @chris012208 definitly..floyd wudve not been able to handle that kind of intensity if he traded but i see pac knocking both these guys out..tough fights tho but there suspect too..i see pac ko,ing hearns in 2 rounds cos his chins quite weak n leanard wud also get stopped but later on cos of all the running

  • @Ronz93 Do you realize you said in your opinion "Pac and Duran are the same," and you see Pac KOing Hearns in 2? But Hearns K.O.ed Duran in 2. There is no way Pac could get inside on Tommy. Pac would eat too many jabs. Pac is way too small for Hearns. Pac def couldn't stop SRL w/only a draw and split vs. Marquez.

  • @Ronz93 lol but his a good fighter man Love watching old boxing

  • @thuglyf121212 i know they were beasts..the punching power was phenomenal, its like they make todays boxers look domestic level in terms of power

  • @Ronz93 i disagree but those closet thing to a hearns -pac fight would be pac- Williams and we know that fight won't happen Williams has height and reach power good jab good hand speed but most of all high volume of punching

  • @Ronz93 that;s the stupidest thing I've heared. Pacquiao KO Hearns in 2? Pacman would not even reach Hearns chin!

Margarito is big BUM of guy with zero boxing skills, a terrible left jab & moves like lava. So don't even think Pacquiao can handle his size.

Try watching Hearns-Duran. Tommy Hearns in 5 minutes.

  • @chris012208 yeah thats what everybody says. the old greats would of destroyed the athletes of today. it never ends. i gotta deal with this crap i just about every sport. its so annoying. let me guess jordan pisses on kobe? or brady shouldnt step in the same room as montana right? oh and ray robinson would of destroyed either hearns or leanard. this never ends. for some reason ppl always let the classics be classics. new guys never get respect til they become the olds.

  • @drepop803 Well Ray Leonard and Hearns did fight in the era of 15 rounds and this is also a unification bout which doesn't happen that often today.

  • @capablemachine yeah i know. that wasnt my point.

  • @chris012208 U a gotdayumn lie....Hearns would get MAWLED by a prime mayweather....Floyd is a counter puncher...he doesnt throw punches until u throw punches, and at some point u say to urself, "Everytime I throw a punch, I miss and get hit", so U STOP throwing punches and become prey....Genero hernandez had speed...Floyd was ALLLL around his ass....Floyd wouldnt have a difficult fight with herns like ray is..Floyd would adjust and then it would be ONESIDED...cuz herns is not good enough

  • @tenfoldsoffspring like floyd could get through hearns' reach...

  • @marinlille Floyd fought many tall fast strong fighters....what herns and lenard is doing in this video is OBVIOUSLY not extroadenary...U could never say that these two overly cautious fighters could take Floyd on...Floyd is cautious but these two dudes actin like they scared of eachother....Herns wasnt perfect...Floyd MAY be perfect...it is what it is

  • @tenfoldsoffspring , did you say Hearns was not good enough? That man was a great fighter but was defeated by the best (Sugar Ray and Marvin Hagler) of their time but remember a top legend like Roberto Duran received a serious beating from him. Besides, he was 32-0 (30 kO's) going into this fight. Just my opinion.

  • @scoppy80 Ur right!..They are all legends my fellow Boxingdweeb!

  • @tenfoldsoffspring , point of correction, I am not a boxing dweeb but just a fan who likes the sport.

  • @scoppy80 Lol...That was an Inside Joke between Boxing fans....Boxing is not as popular as it used to be so when u meet another boxing fan u adress him as a boxngdweebazoid!

  • @chris012208 , I agree with you 100%. Sugar Ray Leaonard, Marvellous Marvin Hagler, Hit man Thomas Hearns and Roberto Duran are the best ever non heavyweight boxers of all times.

  • @chris012208 agreed.this era was something else.looking at this fight it really seems these guys could beat either mayweather or pacquiao.this sort of technique, skill are rare these days.

  • Pac started at 106.. these guys started at 147, right? Not even fair.

  • Either Leonard or Hearns would beat Pacquiao and this not a knock on Pacman. Simply put, these two guys are just too big, too strong, too fast, and too powerful for Pacquiao who at best is a small welterweight.

  • good fight

  • i knew someone would bring up pacman. trust me he would be be in hell either TH or Sugar ray!

  • nice quality video.

  • hearns would destroy pacman

  • @topcat42 duh!!!! would you fight a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy taller man? ..................... i don't think so................ Manny got lucky and had a chance to fight shorter man in his era... but still, 7 world class title is impressive.... more than being undefeated IMO.................

  • @dsrevo79

Duh, wtf are you even talking about? Would I fight a taller man if he was the same weight as me, of course I would. What are you even trying to say?

  • @topcat42 i will only fight a giant man if my life is on th line...but in boxing u must be really dumb to challenge a boxer with way to much reach and height advantage....there's is no way PACMAN will challenge PAUL WILLIAMS..........that is just nuts...haha..............get it?

  • @dsrevo79

Newsflash for you dsrevo. Professional fighters fight bigger, smaller guys all the time. As long as they are the same weight class t doesn't matter to them. Have you ever heard a fighter say "I'm not fighting him he's too tall". could name plenty of smaller fighters that beat "bigger guys", if the price is right Pacman would fight anyone in his weight class..... get it?

  • @topcat42 yah, i get it,,, little flloyd is too scared to fight big pacman! and thats a newsflash for you also...

  • @dsrevo79

It's all about the money, son.

  • @dsrevo79 Then you can never compare Pacman to SRL...ever. Thomas Hearns was 6'1 and Ray Leonard was 5'7, yet Ray fought Thomas Hearns twice. Williams is 6'2 and Pacman is 5'6, not that much of a difference from Leonard and Hearns...Pacman is a joke, he is scared of Williams.

  • @YoungDrizzle215 Leonard was 5'10". Your comparison is poor.

  • @YoungDrizzle215 What on earth are you talking about? Williams hasn't fought at welterweight in 3 years; a division Pac only went to in the first place to fight DLH, then Cotto & chase Floyd. Basically he's only there because thats where the money is, right now, he should rightfully be at lightweight. Yet you're criticizing him for not fighting an unmarketable middleweight? Get a clue. Ray was 5'10 BTW & Pac is closer to 5'5.

  • @huthut91 I dunno what happend to my last post but I said "My bad Leonard was 5'10" already. And he isn't there because thats where the "money" is at, if that was the case he woulda went back to after Floyd declined. He is trying to be built as a great WW as well, if he wants to then tell him to beat the great fighters at their weight and not catch-weight. But enough of that here, lets watch the 2 legends go at it, this ain't about Pac or Floyd.

  • @topcat42 and maybe Floyd too

  • @topcat42 agreed 100%. it would be foolish to think that just because pacquiao beat de la hoya, clottey and margarito; hearns size would not matter. Hearns in a way different league than these bums.

Margarito is an idiot who happens to be tall with a a terrible left jab and mediocre punching power

  • @topcat42 Yeah and Sugar whooped Hearns...

  • @Lee94503

    And Sugar would whoop Pacman.

  • @topcat42 your nuts.

  • @topcat42 so would leanord or duran

  • @1cwa

    I agree

  • these two are bigger, smarter, stronger and faster then pacman. they would kick his ass. Pac is shit compared to these two

  • @ichirima i dont i agree with that,,if you would make these two about the size of pacman they will be killed easily...their only advantage is height and reach. PACMAN's offense and conditioning can't be overlooked. also Roach will study this too and will probably tell pacman to stop chasing a running opponent... why chase anyway..let them come to you.

  • @dsrevo79

these guys are faster, stronger, and more conditioned then anybody who pac has fought.

Pac's conditioning isnt as good as these guys.

Pac would duck hearns, too big. Hearns would knock pacquiao out brutally. hed fuck up pacquiao with the jab pac comes in and gets annihilated with a straight right hand, pac gets stunned and gets KO in round 6.

Leonard comes out dancing pac comes in getting boxed up. Pac tries to brawl but gets KO'd in round 8. too much power, agility and speed.

  • @dsrevo79

how would he beat them? Really?!

I dont see any way. These guys conditioned for 15 rounds pac conditions 12 rounds at catchweights. He's too small for these guys. Pac ducked foreman because foreman's too tall, both of these men are taller than him. Ray's chin is too good for pacquiao. Pac wouldn't even think about signing that contract with hearns' right hand in mind. These guys beat pacquiao in every way. Man He'd get Annihilated KO'd brutally. seriously. too fast, quick and smart

  • @dsrevo79 Tommy would box circles around Pacman, he hit like a fuckin freight train. Pac has no defense so he would feel those bombs head on until he hits the floor.

  • @NeOGoD01. Pacman is a steriod user a dirty fighter :( :( :(
