I read a report that they have linked a predisposition to vitiligo and lupus to a single gene. And that one of the triggers of the vitiligo and/or lupus is exposure to phenols. That is a chemical often used in insecticides, some hair dies, etc. It may also be in some makeups. This may explain why the typical pattern of pigmentless patches around the mouth, cheeks, eyes and hands, and scalp.

hehe. i got vitiligo as well but im used to it, got it more in my face then the lady in this video, but im white so you cant see it as clearly, then i got on my stomac, huge spots on my knees etc. ^^ anyway im happy with myself im only 17 so i dont get laid on a regular basis;D;D

Sweetie you need to depigment and fast. You shouldnt walk around looking like that. I know you want to hold on to your blackness and it would be hella difficult but you should get some monobenzone. I cant ever imagine going through that. I love having dark skin and turning white...omg I couldnt imagine good luck
I hope you get this skin condition so you can actually experience what life is like with it. It's not just so easy as to bleach your skin, n one wants to do that.
She is unique and she doesn't need to depig is her choice. For you comment I can tell that you have a poor soul and I don't know how you can walk around with a poor soul and always remember God is always looking down for your acts. vitiligo didn't bother me until two years ago because i grew up in dallas and everyone knew about me and my vitiligo. i was good in school in sports teams and everything. when i moved to toronto two years ago in my new high school people had the worst and ugliest reactions towards me and called me names such as milky way boy. after that i stopped wearing short sleeves and shorts and since its mostly cold here i never leave home without my gloves on.
People are idiots. I have vitiligo. It isn't all over my body. My worst areas are my arms, thighs, and face. I have it developing on my back too. I still wear shorts, and tank tops. I will admit that I have to wear my foundation on my face that. Other than that I could care less about it being on the rest of my body.
Michael Jackson has vitiligo too, mabye people will belive that now.. or some time. He deserves that people are understanding and don`t ask him questions. MJ rocks :D

I have tunnel vision. I don't notice other people. There were only 2 times that I noticed people staring. Some asian lady at a restaurant literally was staring hardcore. I ignored her. I guess she was nearsighted. She actually bent over and put her face about 2 inches from hands and was staring at them. I tried to be polite and ignore her. The old lady then followed me out the store and asked what it was. I yelled nothing and kept walking. Jesus Christ.
There's special make ups that doesn't rub off and is not sticky. Im a Music Teacher and I have to wear it other wise the attention will be in my hand and not on the Lesson. It Boost your confidence to a 100% you should try it with that I don't have any stares anymore. ; )
