I sold my RS Turbo H plate for exactly the same price i payed for it many years before. Strange thing though i payed out a shit load of money to restore it back to factory standard thats probably why i got my money back. I have seen it around on the roads and she still looks great :).
Years ago I had an XR3i and I totally loved it. It was fun as all hell to drive. I have driven maannny cars since then but nothing was as fun as that car. It FORDED me to speed!!! My brother recently bought a Mondeo ST and its a very nice car and a dream to drive, but it still is not as fun as that 20 year old Escort. I have considered buying a new car recently but I keep coming back and looking at the Mk4 Escort and considering buying one instead; it was that fun. Nice car man; I am jelous :)

Actually Nobby, the CV is one of the WORST engines Ford ever built. It was harsh, thrashy & crude. The motoring journalists were very critical of it. CVH engines suffer terribly from oil starvation to the cyclinder head, they nearly always die from being sludged up. In a single word, the CVH is SHIT. Because a small engine with turbo don't use so much fuel when you are driving at normal speed, it only takes a lot of fuel when the turbo is working and 95% of the time it's not in nornal driving. We have a saying in Sweden about American cars with V8:s. "You cant fill it up on idling"

Ford completely lost the plot in the 1980's & manufactured lots of front wheel drive garbage. No matter how you cut it, the FWD escorts were utter dross. NASTY CVH engines that sounded like a bag of rusty spanners! The Mk1 & Mk2 Escorts were quality-just look at their competition record in rallying. RWD AWESOME-FWD GARBAGE. XR3i/RS Turbo-NASTY FWD RUBBISH.

Actually Nobby, the CV is one of the WORST engines Ford ever built. It was harsh, thrashy & crude. The motoring journalists were very critical of it. CVH engines suffer terribly from oil starvation to the cyclinder head, they nearly always die from being sludged up. In a single word, the CVH is SHIT. However, if want to delude yourself that it was good, crack on amigo!

sorry guy,but i have an 1986 escort 1.6 cvh whit 350.000 km on the engine,and it works as the first day,no oil conpsumition,and it touches 7000 rpm.....true that of the oil to the head,but...it is still working!

Are these cars reliable yes? I'm considering getting a convertible one, not much, but are the parts relatively cheap compared to bmw? And are they good on fuel compared to 1.9tdi audi A6. Also are they reliable for driving about 15 miles a day only not fast but normal slow driving. Thank you i appreciatiate your help.

ma m8 has an rs turbo its gt a custom hand bilt titaniam engin but we wnt racing n he forgot to put oill and watter in da car so it is kinda fucked but hopefull will be fixed soon (got it up to 160mph)

Bottom line is a LS1 makes 500+ with a supercharger alone on 93 octane can your SOHC 4cy do that.Lets see what it would take to make 500+.Fully built lower end,ported head,cam,Custom or ported intake,full fuel system,full exhaust, and possibly alcohol or methnol injection,Front mount inercooler,In other words EVERTHING.Thats not even including all the suport mods for the driveline.Talk about warming the earth.

Because a small engine with turbo don't use so much fuel when you are driving at normal speed, it only takes a lot of fuel when the turbo is working and 95% of the time it's not in nornal driving. We have a saying in Sweden about American cars with V8:s. "You cant fill it up on idling"

size does not matter. at the local drag strip a chav in anewly brought c6 got banged hard by an RST and a cossie. the rst stayed whit the c6 all the trak down the wining diference between the 2 was minimal only a bumber away. when the cosie showed in the c6 was forgoten... lol another difference was after 2 races the c6 needed fuel big block suka.
