Burndt Jamb could have been the beginning of a different direction for weezer, more jam based. I love the funky guitar, sorta john frusciante sounding. One of my fav songs from them. Maladroit is their most underrated album in my opinion.
I agree! It seems like (in my opinion) they lost it after Maladroit. I didn't think the next 2 albums were that bad, but nothing special. After the red album though. I just decided to stick with weezer - maladroit.
@theredreceivers While Burndt Jamb is one of my favorites of theirs, I for one am really glad they DIDN'T become a jam band. Rivers is too much of a pop genius to be doing simple jam music.
This song is based off of a jam the Grateful Dead used to play in concert, and can be found on "Dark Star > Jam" off Dick's Picks Vol. 2, as well as "Dancing In The Streets" Vol. 8
Can someone please name a song that is better than this one? The only ones i can name that are better than this are by WEEZER! This band is awesome....i dream of this song in my sleep!
What a killer performance. I think this is a great and such forgotten-about song. Easily in my top 5 favorite by Weezer. Also, Maladroit is the most underrated album and possibly their best.
maladroit is the most underrated weezer album by far. Most "hardcore" fans completely dismiss it. I think it blows their past 2 albums out of the water...
Ditto, I've found a lot of love for it since I've basically burnt myself out on Pinkerton, Blue and Green. I still can't listen to Make Believe all the way through
yeah, its my favorite album by them, but thats most likely because i listened to blue and pink way too much over the years and burned myself out on them :-/
True, but his look doesn't fit the band's image. Yes, he's a great bassist, but he's too buff and menacing to play live in a band like Weezer, you know?
I know what you mean. Mikey... and hell, even Matt Sharp... couldn't give a sweet bass intro like that though so really its for better or worse.
I remember seeing them and Scott was performing with a leather jacket half the show, and topless with a cowboy hat the rest... its kind of funny when you think about it.
if you listen to some of the ss2k stuff you can hear mikey really shred it: he's a talented bassist... but he doesn't play with the attitude that scott does.
What I was trying to say was, I think Scott is a good bassist, and you can clearly see that in this video. I'm just saying why can't Weezer incorporate that skill into more of their songs.
What, more songs that Scott plays on? He's not the most talented bassist they've had. Matt Sharp, in my opinion, takes that title. Scott, however, comes in at a close second. And anyway, the Red Album is all filler songs. The only good tracks are the first three and Everybody Get Dangerous. Okay, maybe Heart Songs. Scott hasn't really had a chance. Wait till Raditude comes out. There are probably some good basslines on there, knowing Scott.
This is one of the live bonus tracks on the Make Believe Japanese import. On the track you can actually hear the pyrotechnics going off. Great performance.
what means "serminizing"?

Is it just me or is there a serious Radiohead influence on this song? The dreamy guitar and the high pitched vocals?? Anyone else see it?
Teejs52 2 years ago
I kinda see it. The best I could think of as a comparison would be "My Iron Lung," where it starts out soft and slow and then rough and fast.
However, I still like this some no matter what~
