I believe much of what Indigenous people contribute to these discussions is often supported by the average Western person who has some understanding of the motives and plans of the World Bank, IMF and the like. I think what is important is for Indigenous people to find a way to include their non-indigenous supporters in their fight. It's a paradox whereby the more Indigenous people define themselves as somewhat distinct from others, the less support their claims can recieve.
My indigenous brothers and sisters we have to fight against this western disease so call corporate, globalization and industrialization. Greetings from Kirati. native of the Himalayas, Nepal. Like all other indigenous people of the world, my land was invaded by Aryan from northern India in 330AD. Kirat ancient civilization was destroyed and our language, culture and religion were suppressed by these invaders. Today we are fighting back.

this sums up the 'stitch-up' that we are all labouring under on a macrocosmic scale ! when will the 97% wake up and take their power back form the 3% ?
To rid the world of debt we must rid ourselves of the World Bank and the IMF.
Nations must print their peoples money only and send back all the present World Bank and IMF money to them. This is our full payment back to them and we can deliver all their counterfeit money to their front lawn. All the countries and the world are now out of debt. It is that simple. Force your local politician to start printing the peoples money. Spread this around to everyone.
The Royal Proclamation of 1763, which declared that no one could take possession of Indian Lands unless they had first been ceded or sold by Indian nations to the crown.
The Wabanaki never sold , ceded or surrendered any lands!
Shameless and cheap manipluation by a non-indigenous individual with sour grapes. The UNPFII and its Chairperson has done an amazing job raising the profile of indigneous peoples issues whilst some have simply come along for the ride - with no solutions and nothing but complaints. Rebecca should be ashamed of her behaviour.
Indigenous people are right from the begining about climate change. We should listen to them, they have a better bound with Nature and we can learn a lot from them
Their Chief like Seattle was right and all the other GREAT CHIEFs too 500/600 years ago.Their prophecy is recent and very very true.
Lets learn how to listen and dont fall into the trap of our ancestors made for us,it is the road of desctruction.
dang art i wish i was there lol...excellent video by the way i love it...Alex just emailed me this... i have a group i will put this up on "deceitful colonial ways" on facebook ... check it out

24 Sept 2008UN Admits REDD Could Threaten Indigenous Peoples:
-deprive communities of their legitimate land-development aspirations
-hard-fought gains in forest management practices might be wasted
- cause the lock-up of forests by decoupling conservation from development
-erode culturally rooted not-for-profit conservation values
-REDD benefits in some circumstances may have to be traded off against other social, economic or environmental benefits
