i really dont see the point in the ipad, everything it does is already done by an existing device, you want to read a book? pick up a book and read it. You want to listen to music? use your ipod. Its too big to carry about with you and use on the move so it isnt really portable and for 600 pound it certainly isn't cheap. Personally If i was going to spend six hundred pound I would buy a 400 pound laptop and keep the change

I really enjoy watching unboxing videos, especially of Apple products. When I got my iPad, I was so excited that I literally sprinted home from my local Apple store as fast as I could so I could get on with using it straight away. @midnightapalooza: That kinda holds true for all tablets: they're all pretty much just giant versions of their phone counterparts (iOS phones and tablets, Android phones and tablets, WebOS phones and tablets). I said the same thing before I got an iPad but your opinion really does change after you get one (or any tablet for that matter). If you buy a tablet you'd understand.

I have an iPad 2 and the little switch by the volume rocker doesn't turn turn the accelerometer off or whatever. It just mutes the volume.
