@darkneomartin It might be because you have a '07 or '08 wii. If you have '09 it has to be an updated motherboard. The update came in August '09

i don't get your tutorial..where do i get that file called tbrboot.dol and the other two? the tutorial doesn't show anything where to download it or where to find it. i am majorly confused right now. also, which apps folder? i'm really confused and i would like to have the answer as soon as i can cause i have been suffering for months now...

@strikerno14 Ok, the tbrboot.dol step..... just forget it, its not needed. and teh pack for this tutorial is at the link in the discription. (you need to sign up to see the link BUT its worth the time because the tutorial works.)

@Yowzer4 Thanks so much...And I was going to try uninstalling the HBC, but now that I upgraded when I went to go to that Boot.Elf on the SD or whatever, it automatically takes me to, uhh, Waninkoko's thing with the blue screen and like the guitar hooks!

@iamkakashi20 It won't brick your wii, nintendo just adds ios249 to your wii with update to keep you from using hbc, this tutorial replaces it with cIOS38. Im pretty sure if you tryed to downgrade it would brick, but you should be good to go if you complete the steps carefully.

In step 7(b), I found IOS 53, 57 and 70 in "Dop-IOS v8" menu, but I don't know what option I have to choose in each one:

[A] - Install latest version vXXX of IOSXX

[-] - Install older version vXXX of IOSXX

Note: IOS70 is the only one that has just the [A] option.

If it was like mine. The screen probably went completely black. You just have to hit A a couple times on your Wii mote. Eventually, the lights at the bottom of your wiimote will stay lit and you will notice that TBR is on your screen. Hope that helps you.

I got it to work finally - there's 2 things people should know, since the instructions don't mention this

1. The cboot2 file in the package is important.  After installing HBC, install the cboo2 (just place the 3 files on the root of your SD card, preferably with nothing else on the SD card) Launch HBC - launch BootMii - then it should load cboot2. After that, follow step 3 from here on.

2, At step 5, hit left/right arrow button to get to System Titles. The unknowing person might see it loading, and think its frozen --- but you just have to hit left/right

3. To scruffer: I saw those errors too, but as long as the wii isn't frozen, everything is fine. Disregard those errors and keep going.

I'll give this a 3 out of 5. Something like this could have been done in an hour, but took a few days, due to some missing info. Just my 2 cents. I'll make a vid. when free

if your still having trouble with freezing while trying to uninstall iso 249, try installing it in the menu first and then uninstalling, if you get okays for all 3 notifications you should be good to go. Also, after the network connection step if you get error 116, turn your wii connect 24 on and make sure it has internet connection. Hope this helps, your welcome bitches.

Ok its your choice:

Option 1:Delete ios 249 and in wadmanager use ios 250 to uninstall ios249.wad

Option 2: Delete ios 250 and use ios36 in wadmanager to uninstall ios249.wad

and can switch the ios to use, using the d-pad. Or IF that doesnt work try downloading a different version of Wad manager (1.5 is the latest)

You name tbrboot.dol to boot.dol and put it on the root (main thing you see) of the SD card. and the other part Make a folder in your apps folder named CIOS downgrader and put the boot.dol for cIOS downgrader in the folder. :SD/apps/cIOS downgrader/boot. sorry i should have explained it better... =]
