I saw Nicola play in 1992. Sadly she gave up the guitar a few years later due to a neurological problem. Nice that recordings like this, as well as her CDs, exist.

Nicola developed the same problem which is now affecting the great Liona Boyd and has brought to an end her guitaristic career. It's a type of Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) often experienced by musicians. Nicola went on to be a lawyer, Liona is now developing her career as a singer and has a new CD to prove it...!

She suffered from a debilitating physical impairment: an injury to one of her arms. I dont know what was the nature of the injury, or which arm was affected although another viewer provided such details as a comment to one of her other video-clips. This happened some time in the nineties. But this not uncommon accident among musical performers.

Other than that, I think she is alive and well, according to what I read on the internet, although the information about her is very scarce.

I have a friend who had tendinitis of the left index flexor from playing too many pieces with too much "barré" (is this the technical word in English ?). He had to stop playing for quite some time, but is well again.

I hope Nicola Hall's ailment will soon disappear, whether or not she comes back on stage.
