No talk of depriving men of their right to vote, own property, etc. To become a 2nd class citizen your rights would have to be diminished or taken away. Yes, many of these studies are funded by universities, as such could be exgtremely dmaging to said university if falsified. The emotional display of girls at the end of this rite of passage is most often attributed to the strong social and friendship bonds, not necessary educational experience. If boys do, in fact, feel as though they are being released from prison at graduation, that points more towards teen socialization, effective teaching techniques and parental support of the child.

Since businesses have paid unequal salaries based on gender instead of merit for well over 50 years and refuses to alter this inequity, it is time for legal action to correct this. The market only bears this injustice because our "choice" has been bear it or get fired - get less or get nothing.

If a woman earns 80 cents to the man's 1.00, they're going to have to take .10 from than man to even things out, even if the man merits more. If a woman earns less, it has to do with many factors, not cuz she's dumb. My sister in law is smarter and has higher education creds than my brother, but earns 1/3 his pay. Her job is a comfy happy mix of family and work. His is absolute hell, which he does for his family. Some day, the extra work would pay off if it is not transfered to a woman.

I've always been a strong proponent of equal rights/responsibilities. Here's an interesting factoid: when people negotiate their salary - on average they get 20% more starting pay. And most women don't negotiate - they take the first offer. Learning to negotiate would eliminate 20 out of 22 cents of pay inequity. Women, we have to take responsibility for our outcomes ourselves - that's a fact in business.
If employers all paid women the same as men for the same work, this law would not be needed. They don't, and that's wrong. So we need this law. It's simply about fairness and equality.

As a man who works for a corporation that frowns on employees disscussing what they get paid (even though employees generally violate that company policy, because each employee negotiates their own deal for employment, and a man who gets paid less than some women, I may want to get paid the same as others but I know that it is not going to happen. But when I sue, everyone may enither take a pay cut or lose employment altogether, so I figure that they won't be too happy.
If the individual is responsible for negotiating their own deal, then the capitalistic view would be, that person should work on and improve thier negotiating skills... Again, not necessarily a gender issue...

I work at a local retailer in my town. My employer is Unionized by the UFCW. My question concerns this act. I am "classified" as a Part-Time Grocery Clerk, hired to do the same work as a Part-Time Checker Clerk. I have been employed for over 3 years. My coworkers are doing the exact same work for nearly twice the pay. My hourly rate is $9.25, and their hourly rate is $13+. There are employee's with LESS time than me who are paid more as well. Plz Help.

EEOC’s work load didn’t increase that much in the past 6 years but they wanted nicer offices. I just spent two hours researching EEOC’s own reports and the ACT itself. Yes, many of these studies are funded by universities, as such could be exgtremely dmaging to said university if falsified. The emotional display of girls at the end of this rite of passage is most often attributed to the strong social and friendship bonds, not necessary educational experience. If boys do, in fact, feel as though they are being released from prison at graduation, that points more towards teen socialization, effective teaching techniques and parental support of the child.

Since businesses have paid unequal salaries based on gender instead of merit for well over 50 years and refuses to alter this inequity, it is time for legal action to correct this. If a woman earns 80 cents to the man's 1.00, they're going to have to take .10 from than man to even things out, even if the man merits more. If a woman earns less, it has to do with many factors, not cuz she's dumb. My sister in law is smarter and has higher education creds than my brother, but earns 1/3 his pay. Her job is a comfy happy mix of family and work. His is absolute hell, which he does for his family. Some day, the extra work would pay off if it is not transfered to a woman.

Fair pay only works if a person has a job. at 10.2% unemployment this bill has little effect. Also yea we are all created equal but it does not mean we are all equal workers. No, there is no requirement for the people to "obey" the government. Governments elected by the people are not elected to rule over the people they are elected to lead the people. Leadership has no guarantee of followership. The right of redress of grievance is a part of the system of the U.S. government.

Yes, when a government is demorcratically elected and there has not been gross violations against those elligible to vote or disenfranchising them, then the gov't should be obeyed, but this doesn't mean people can't complain. Per amendment 1 of US Constitution, "Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom to petition the Government for a redress of grievances..."
so yes, we can and SHOULD complain.

I've always been a strong proponent of equal rights/responsibilities. Here's an interesting factoid: when people negotiate their salary - on average they get 20% more starting pay. And most women don't negotiate - they take the first offer. Learning to negotiate would eliminate 20 out of 22 cents of pay inequity. Women, we have to take responsibility for our outcomes ourselves - that's a fact in business.

As a man who works for a corporation that frowns on employees disscussing what they get paid (even though employees generally violate that company policy, because each employee negotiates their own deal for employment, and a man who gets paid less than some women, I may want to get paid the same as others but I know that it is not going to happen. But when I sue, everyone may enither take a pay cut or lose employment altogether, so I figure that they won't be too happy.

I work at a local retailer in my town. My employer is Unionized by the UFCW. My question concerns this act. I am "classified" as a Part-Time Grocery Clerk, hired to do the same work as a Part-Time Checker Clerk. I have been employed for over 3 years. My coworkers are doing the exact same work for nearly twice the pay. My hourly rate is $9.25, and their hourly rate is $13+. There are employee's with LESS time than me who are paid more as well. Plz Help.

As long as the other employees are a different race/gender, you may have a case. If you all are the same race/gender, you won't have a chance in hell to win under this act. If you are a white male, you automatically have bias against you. The best alternative is find another job that pays you more. No one is forcing you to stay at that job. If I were you I would question the union. They should be able to get a print-out of the Grocery Clerk's responsibilities and thsoe of Checker Clerks. If you are doing the higher paying duties, then approach your manager and politiely bring it to his attention and ask for the higher pay. It would help if your union had a representative present for this. Good luck getting your deserved raise.

I have had great results when I've maintained eye contact and good posture. It is amazing how much it affects people's opinion of others. If the manager gives you a hard time, don't quit but start looking for a job with better management. A bad boss negatively affects your health. Good luck,

That only takes effect if the country has a no double-citizenship policy, like China does with America. I'm a Hong Kong permanent resident and an American citizen. Also, just because you live in a country for a long amount of time doesn't mean that you've necessarily naturalized, your not forced to.
If you can provide proof that he was naturalized please show me, because you can be president even if you only live 14 years in the United States.
