  • 2:03 los acordes de "I Won't Back Down" de Tom Petty...

  • @rogeliosarambeta It does sound like that. :o)

  • @Sawlon Jajajaja es que me encanta Tom Petty y también esa guitarra! Saludos amigo!

  • Go for a baby taylor.

  • What's the song you're starting to play at 1:40 ?

  • @Alexsuppan Blackbird. :o)

  • @Sawlon oh yeah. I should have known that. Thanks a lot though :)

  • @Alexsuppan that was prob blackbird -the beatles

  • This thing is a piece of shit ... & very nice playing on it $-)

  • @Eisenwisser Thanks! :o)

  • @Eisenwisser

Is it really a piece of shit? He made it sound pretty good. I travel(fly) all the time so I want something to take with me, I already have a Yamaha G-40 miniature but it's a little bulky still, to carry on.

  • "Because theres nothing there you know" that's funny for some reason.

  • nice playing---I've played one with steel strings but would rather have the Martin Little Martin LX1

  • @micmoable I hear ya. Thanks!

  • Gitar Impianku !!

  • @satryaleonardo They are pretty cool! :o)

  • I think it sounds great for the size and its cool it only weighs like 2 lbs =D! Wish it had more frets though =/.

  • @TheCrazyWolf I hear ya!

  • A buddy of mine had one of these at a music festival, I think they sound great!! I'm totally getting one for my cross country motorcycle trip next summer. Cause I sure as hell ain't gonna lug around a full size guitar!

  • @itsfloodindownintex lol They're great when you can't take the big stuff! :o)

  • BLACKBIRD!!!

  • @caulinrocker1 Yep!

  • My brother bought one of these and its an awsome guitar:)

  • @loliz76 Cool! It's great for a hike in the woods! Thanks!

  • Beautiful video sir!! I'm getting one of these in like a week!

  • @Gilmour3 Cool! Thanks!

  • you need the strap even when you are sitting as demonstrated. Straps pack a lot easier than 2 more sq.ft of guitar just so you can sit it on your leg. I got used to it pretty fast. It is supposed to be a small guitar not a replacement for a big body accoustic. It has a cool bluesy slide guitar kinda sound all it's own. The steel string has great sustain. I love the action. I've heard them with a pick up and sound awesome and don't feedback too bad.

  • @FreezyAbitKT7A Good scoops! Thanks!

  • cool

  • @13579946 Thanks!

  • I was thinking about buying the "Backpacker" once ( I like camping and backpacking too) but after playing it I really didn't like it...no body (hard to play) or volume..you are better off with the Uke or even a small "kid's" guitar I've found for those camping weekends. I like the Little Martin XLME guitar I bought last Sept and is in my recent videos...nice sound and playablilty.

    --Van

I had a Uke that got too close to the campfire...It wound up in the fire before the weekend was over--ha ha

  • You talk and talk. But you talk so entertaining!

  • @zenyricardo Thanks!

  • Black Bird for the win :D

  • @Aeonec :o)

  • Sweet, I've been thinking of getting one of these for a while now. Thanks for the video!

  • @AvidiaNirvana You're so welcome! Thanks!

  • @AvidiaNirvana and, what is you final decicion?

  • @clemorockt I don't think I would use it very often and don't have the extra cash so I prolly won't get one.

  • are you a hippie?

  • @JamesGD09 Use to be! lol

  • I love watching your reviews, you are soo laid back and cool....very easy to watch, thanks!!

  • @salsaguy1964 You're so welcome!

    Thanks!

  • I love the way the body looks! Fantastic! Despite the problems with it, it looks quite fun.

  • @Mrbluegold1 Great for backpacking! Thanks!

  • Hey Sawlon try putting the guitar in a plastic bag with a sponge soaked in distilled water (dont let the sponge touch the guitar) leave it sit for a few weeks and see if the bow comes out.. moisture is usually a problem... though Im sure your aware of moisture and/or lack of, being a problem..

  • @dscott333 Thanks!

  • have a backpacker and love the thing.realy needs light gauge strings to stop it from bowing.

  • No truss rod? yikes!!!! That's no good... there are better "backpacker" guitars out there. Chiquita guitars are smaller as the Martin Backpacker AND have a full 22 fretboard and have a truss rod, the only thing is that I think that the Martin Backpacker has a fuller sound.

  • @PeacefulAvatar Yikes is right! Chiquita's are very nice guitars. Had a used where I used to work.

    Thanks for the scoops!

  • whats the name of that song? I forgot =S

  • @marceloiacovone Blackbird?

  • yes! thanks =]

  • @marceloiacovone yeah it's Blackbird by The Beatles

  • @zeedog14 yea I knew it was from The Beatles, just couldn't remember the name =] thanks

  • you look like willie nelson

  • i also gotta know how to straiten the neck without a truss rodd

  • How much sound quality do you lose from down sizing to the backpacker? it's hard to tell in videos

  • how much you pay for it, i was lookin for one.

  • @bassgroove21 Quite a bit! I still like them though.

    Thanks for asking!

    Dave

  • @bassgroove21 Like he said, only get it if you do need something small and portable, but you can get one for £166 on Thomann.de :)

  • Hey thanks for the video. I was hoping to see what they sounded like and you just showed me. Thanks. Btw, great song choice.

  • @afrocoolio25 Thanks!

  • i used to have the steel string one with the narrow neck, took it round the world twice and then a housemate crushed it.. lol c'est la vie. got loads of comments from people who had no idea what it was. excellent practice guitar, kept my chops up whilst on the road, but agree about the volume.. tried busking with it once and -do not- recommend that!

  • wow. i love that song, and you played it really well. :) im dying to get a martin backpacker. im going to florida this summer to see my cousin and i want to have one with me when i go. thanks!

  • @powerpuffgirlzrule Cool!

    Thanks for commenting!

  • Thanks for the demo, i love blackbird.

  • yo this vid is cool and laid back like someone else said, dude has a really wry style and cool fingerpickin, man

  • Thanks Sawlon for the demo, I was checking one on line for sale "Used" and wanted to know how it sounded. YouTubes Great! Thanks Again.

  • You're so welcome!

  • That was the most laid back demo I've ever seen haha. I like your style = )

  • Thanks!!!

  • cool dude! XD XD

  • Thanks!

  • Ahhh, I used to play this thing at lunch time at my school, they said that if i wanted to preform the way i did, that i had to bring a smaller instrument, my principle hated me and my music. So when i came to school the next day and he saw that thing, his jaw almost fell off.

  • @stude444 Haha, nice!!

  • is this guitar worth it? cause i want tpo play mini guitars on stage and i wanted to know if this was worth it?

  • BLACK BIRD!!! :D

  • Whats that song being play around 1:40?

    Thanks

  • That is "Blackbird" by the Beatles.

    Dave

  • Cheers

    Sounding great btw

  • blackbird singing in the dead of night

  • take these broken wings and learn to fly

  • Comment removed

  • How many frets does it have?! I see it doesn't have as many. I liked the second thing you played on that!

  • Seems like a nice little guitar. You can make any guitar sound great!

  • My sister has one too. A friend once commented while we were playing around the campfire: "Hey look it's a bird house with strings!"

  • Nice sounds cool, quick question, when you did blackbird what picking pattern did you use when on like the 10th and 12th fret?

  • can u do a tutorial on blackbird?

  • Nice little sound.

  • nice song there

  • nice invention

  • sometimes when i store a guitar for long periods of time i take the tension off the strings, helps with a guitar with no truss rod.

  • Thanks Dave,

I think I'll save up for a Silent guitar and maybe a little ac/dc amp (I made a pun!). Another plus if my wife gets bothered of me playing when she reads her books, we'll will both appreciate the headphone. You made the backpacker sound much better than I did by the way.

    Thanks

  • was was that noise in the background right at the end of the video.

  • I think it was a weed whacker.

  • what was that noise in the background??

  • birds?¿

  • yeah sounds like it.

  • nice guitar!!!

    lol i want one haha

    5/5 XD

  • From little Martins i have the LXK2 Koa finish, is a very fun guitar and solid, very well made, is not realy wood, is grained HPL with wood finish, so is perfect for the beech or any hight humidity place, plus the look of the koa is fantanstic and the sound is very nice and bassi for the size. Give it a try if you see one

  • just a pleasure to hear your words of wisdom and playing, watched all your vids and cracking on with the lessons especially the tags nice one

  • Sounds like one of those ol time tincan guitars. I prefer the baby taylor for small guitars and more sound.
