@solemndemon check the video at about 4min 40 sec. in. I give you the right hand pattern that I use but you may find a pattern that suits you better if you don't care for mine. Good luck.
Yes you have it right, the chord is E minor, even though you are note playing the notes you are holding down it is best if you finger them for a couple reasons.
You will know the chord that goes with that part of the melody so that you can at some point just strum instead of fingerpicking if you choose, and if your fingers wander to different strings (accidentaly or on purpose) you will already be set to play the correct notes for that chord. wait, hold it. just a second. Em is 2nd fret of 4th and 5th string, but you are telling me to thumb sixth string, and pluck 12&3. so we aren't playing the ones we are pressing.
did i get it wrong and just dont understand yet?????????
