actually, they kind of are. if people were more caring of those around them that weren't born on a silver platter, they'd give them aid they needed to stand up on their own. because most people don't give a shit, it has to be take forcefully (taxes). of course charity isn't systemimized, and the redistribution would be uneven, if communities were more in tune with their members, it would work better. i do think that giving a person a fish and a rod is better than just one of those.
socialism...right. socialism is when the government takes money from a guy who works his/her ass off and gives it to a lazy person who doesn't do shit!. I'll give money to people who need it I don't have to have the government do it for me
You are completely right. Giving money willingly is not socialism at all (something I do quite a lot of, however am a libertarian). However, this video is still funny.
And a 2 party system has its flaws: i.e: allowing only 2 viewpoints and a middle one that tries to reconcile both extremes.
Furthermore it's always the same 2 parties that continually argue how important they are, never giving a chance to a newer party with potentially more modern ideas. It's also not particularly democratic when your choices are so limited or people adhere to a party out of loyalty or other irrelevant sentiments. *puts on flame suit*
When you give it's called charity and Conservatives give 40% more on average then liberals do. When you take from an individual it's called theft. I always laugh at the constant rebranding of tyranny. First they called it socialism, then they called it fairness and now they're calling it charity. When an individual is trying to sell you something and they can't call it by it's real name it's probably because the product is a piece of shit. Let's call a spade a spade. Fucking tyrants!
Arthur C. Brooks, a professor at Syracuse University, states it in "Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism. Just google "Conservatives give more to charity" Do your own research if you don't believe me, it'll just take half a second.
GOP and the kick-ass dems and the green party give.
All parties are made up of some sort of people who care.
A socialist is someone that is very good at spending other people's money. That is what Bush did, and not in ways that were beneficial to the country such as infrastructure, education or useful military equipment.
Obama is spending money, but in hopes it will get us out of the mess. I don't know if it will work but I hope it does.
For the people who somehow blame Obama for the shit economy, it was already SCREWED by the end of 2007, long before he took over. Nothing to do with him. Btw I didn't vote for him, I'm not even american, but I do work in an investment bank so I would say I'm more qualified to talk about this than all the 'internetz worriorz'.
Neither did I...but we should still get behind our president , even if he makes mistakes. I mean, sure gas may become outrageously expensive because of our crappy economy, but I'll be fine, since my car runs on CHANGE.
Good thing Obama plans on taking your money FOR you and giving it to those who need it! AIG Executives! Yup, thank god we elected him, now already-rich people all over the place are going to get our money with us having no say in it :D
Taking from the poor and giving to the rich, Obama. An American Hero.
wow, i like the rest of your guy's stuff, but isn't redistribution of wealth just the government, an entity that by design can't make money, telling people who are successful through hard work that they know better what to do with it than you who earned it?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Redistributing the wealth is just extending government control way too far by stealing from American citizens and sending it who knows where. For all you know, that money could be used for aiding DRUG distribution.
oh, and btw, congratulations on an Obama win. Now he's cutting into tax deductions ***for charitable giving*** and America has you to thank for it. Hooray for people helping people.
I'm being serious. Are you aware that != is a symbol meaning "does not equal"?
Yes, I've heard of charity organizations. That's the whole point. There's a difference between not wanting our industries socialized, and not giving help to people who need it.
If the government does anything to help tax payers, it'll end up hurting them with higher unemployment rates estimating at 20% of the work force. If it buys the toxic assets from the financial institutions it'll hurt them by raising the tax percentages. Either way, tax payers will get hurt; however, I'd rather pay more money now to have my money getting rid of the bad loans rather than having people "give" me money.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about, and I'm not sure you understand either.
On an unrelated note:
Does anyone else take some perverse joy in an aggressively conservative show's characters being repurposed for a cartoon supporting the democratic nominee? Yes? No?
So there shouldn't be the freedom of choosing who or if to give your money to? Instead it should have had Obama come in and put a gun to his head and say "fuck your freedom of choice, give me %65 of you money or go to jail."
Oh, yeah, saying we shouldn't give out billions of dollars so people can have an extra hundred bucks to pay bills or hoard instead of stimulating the economy is the exact same as not giving a homeless person money... right...
Cuz yeah, that isn't dumbing down the left wing's idea at all. There is a lot more to liberal plans than just giving out cash. Heard of Healthcare at all? We have that in Canada, stops poor people from dying for no reason.
If you relate those issues, denying public health care is basically saying, you are poor, if you get sick and don't have money, you don't deserve to live. Come back when you are upper class.
Not to argue, but isn't the waiting time for medical attention such as surgery in Canada a little lengthy on account of all the people being treated? I believe I've heard some instances of people not able to get medical treatment in time because of this. There's generally a con for every pro you find.
you don't know the half of it. I could have a broken anything or bleeding out and it will still take 14 hours just to get treatment in the emergency room.
Surgery can be months to over a year and that includes heart transplants just because they have the donar's organ, don' mean we have the room to operate.
That problem has a different solution though. Only allowing the rich to get treated does mean the rich get better treatment, but I don't want that coming with the sacrifice of many poorer lives. I think most would agree with me. The health care in Canada needs to be improved, very true, but we are doing much better than America.
Wealth aside, doesn't everyone suffer when the system requires a long waiting period? I'm not understanding why you dismissed my point with one sentence and moved on to rant about your own.
socialized healthcare is the worst kind. I've read up on cases where removing a malignant tumor is considered 'elective surgery', and wasn't covered by the system. I've heard of lines stretching around blocks waiting for ERs in britain, and doctos who simply lift up your shirt and rip out stitches in france. Our system of healthcare may not be perfect, but i'd rather help someone afford healthcare than just give it away for free and let it degrade that far.
You're almost right, there are long waits for ER's in the UK but that is for non essential patients (those who don't want to make an appointment to see their GP or too cheap to pay the prescription charge) In the UK if it's an actual emergency you will get seen to immediately. We do also have Private hospitals so if you can afford insurance you get the best healthcare, the only difference between here and the USA is that if you can't afford it you can still get medical treatment.
Actually, in Canada at least (where I live) our healthcare doesn't work like that. If someone is in fatal condition, they are treated immediately! No waiting. If you come in with a broken leg, you'll be looked after later than someone who's arm just got chopped off.
Basically it's the same as US healthcare (I'm assuming you help those who need it first) except ours is free. No one dies in the waiting room.
I cant believe how funny these are, your palin and Mccain is amazing.. YOu totally captured the strange sort of casper the ghost shaped head he has... and theres such earnestness in his voice, he is really worried. Great job!!
This is fucking incredible. . . TheRealAkaRai has been trolling the comments of this for OVER A MONTH. Give this guy some kind of prize. . . dude is OBSESSED. And butthurt. Srsly butthurt.
Truth, Republicans give more to charity than Democrats according to a new york times report. Democrats however talk more about charity. in other words, democrats love getting attention and giving OTHER people's money to charity

You called someone a douche for not liking an internet animation, and you're calling THEM butthurt?
It's biased, one-sided, childish, empty-headed political satire. It attacks one group by twisting their argument, then spews empty insults at them, and finishes by demanding you vote for the other side.
It's the very definition of a pathetic political strawman.
No I'm calling you a douche and butthurt becuse you takes this so freaking serious. You make it sound like this was brodcasted on every major news station in America and subsequently cost Mccain the election. Grow up it's just a cartoon.
And it's so obious that the only reason you're so upset over this is becuse it made fun of the candidate of your choise
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
How am I taking this "so freaking serious"? Because I point out all the things that are wrong with it? Everything that makes it stupid? You're the one taking the time to comment because you're butthurt I dare say I don't like it. Pull your head out of your ass, hypocrite.
If you voted for Obama, then it's your own bias making you say it's okay. Has to cut both ways if you're going to try to use that as an excuse.
I'm all for GOOD political satire, this is shitty idiotic political satire.
You voted for Obama? Well that's wierd since you're subscribed to Mccains channel and not Obama's, And got "racist"(or maybe lingustical) comments in your comment section that targets Obama and yet you haven't removed them. How can you claim that you haven't taken this to serious? You've yourself said that you unfavorited (unsubcribed?) fortaxreasons becuse of this.
No not realy, I missunderstod what he said and tought that he meant that he voted for Obama. So I realy caught him (unaware of my error). But if he didn't attack my prior argumment then there realy is no change.
I actually have no idea what the osama comment is about. I have no control over what other people say, and honestly it's been a while since I've even looked at those comments. You have to admit it's funny the current president's middle name is the same as the last person we went to war with, and his last name is a letter off from a guy who's killed thousands of Americans.
You still haven't established how I'm "taking this too seriously" it's unfunny Lil' Bush political strawmanning. Lame.
If you have to admit that lexical coincidences are funny but you can't see the humor in these OBVIOUSLY satirical cartoons then you sir are a fucking idiot.
Obvious? An appeal to popularity fallacy? Seriously?
I'm an idiot because I don't find completely one-sided, inaccurate, poorly written partisan hackery funny? The "joke" relies completely on outright lies and strawman fallacies, and outright DEMANDS you vote for the candidate they support. This shit is the political equivelent of a Jack Chick pamphlet.
Also...the coincidence of Hussein as Obama's middle name or the complete lack of relation between the surname Obama and the first name Osama...these things are somehow funny or interesting to you? Get a fucking life.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Have you been to the main site of the fuckwads that put this video up? It's not satire. Their main entry is praise that Obama got elected. They're completely serious about this idiotic, poorly put together "joke".
Also, the fact that the president's name is similar to Saddham Hussein and Osama Bin Ladin causes you to tell me to get a life? And it's me that's butthurt? Hahaha, you troll too hard boy. You cease to make any sense at all.
"Fuckwads?" Why so angry, dude? So what, they support Obama and bust on conservatives. I hate to tell you, but a lot of people do. That's why Barack is your president.
I recommend you procure one of those inflatable rubber donuts to sit on, because you are SERIOUSLY butthurt, my friend.

1. That's an appeal to popularity fallacy. The majority is in fact, often wrong. Look at the popularity of religion, of pop stars, reality television. Saying "a lot of people" believe something is no evidence it's true.
2. Obama won because he went back on his public financing promise. McCain was limited to 87 million, Obama had 770 million. He bought ads in video games, and an hour long television ad on every channel. In the end it all came down to money.
Stow your logical fallacies bullshit for another day, kiddo. . . I ain't making an argument. I'm just saying if you're so mad about these "fuckwads," get ready for a looong 8 years of being mad at the world.
Also, you need to look up what it is to actually demand something.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You make a lot of assumptions in there, little guy.
First of all, why would I be made at the Obama administration for what two dumb fucks on the internet posted? Your correllation is at best absurd, and at worst indicative of mental illness.
Second, Obama has promised a lot of stuff there's no way he can deliver. How do you know it won't just be four years? One guy gets out of Gitmo after it's closed and blows something up, and his popularity will plummet.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If by "change" you mean "a bunch of Washington insiders, Clinton administration people, criminals and tax evaders" sure. So far, Obama has demonstrated repeatedly that he was in no way ready for the office. To quote him "I screwed up."
Duh, people are idiots wanting something new and therefore electing a man who lacks experience. Don't try to take this "higher than thee" attitude with me, this is a fucking cartoon, the election is over, its only a scrape on the knee rub some dirt on it, quiit crying and grow some goddamn balls. I did why can't you? But honestly letting the unions pester workers while they vote is a really dumb idea.
I'm not being "higher than thee" as you put it, I'm just saying the "eight bad years" were not the fault of any one political party. The faulty information that there were WMDs was gathered by the Clinton admin, and an overwhelming majority of Democrats voted in favor of invading Iraq. It's just another round of political scapegoating. I'm sure in four years when everything is still shit, the blame will be on Obama. He can only blame Bush for so long.
Just like when my parents caught on that the cat never broke any vases. I miss my childhood. You've been a fountain of information Aka Rai. Now I know.

I think it's most likely they have to go center because the extreme of either side is a terrible idea.
MoarOfTehRawkege 2 years ago

I mean 30% more. Even though liberals are supposed to care more about the poor and helpless in our society.

Redistributing the wealth is just extending government control way too far by stealing from American citizens and sending it who knows where. For all you know, that money could be used for aiding DRUG distribution.

There's generally a con for every pro you find.
justicetrooper 3 years ago
you don't know the half of it. I could have a broken anything or bleeding out and it will still take 14 hours just to get treatment in the emergency room.
Surgery can be months to over a year and that includes heart transplants just because they have the donar's organ, don' mean we have the room to operate.
TheJMachine 3 years ago
That problem has a different solution though. Only allowing the rich to get treated does mean the rich get better treatment, but I don't want that coming with the sacrifice of many poorer lives. I think most would agree with me. The health care in Canada needs to be improved, very true, but we are doing much better than America.
ScissorHand26 3 years ago
Wealth aside, doesn't everyone suffer when the system requires a long waiting period? I'm not understanding why you dismissed my point with one sentence and moved on to rant about your own.
justicetrooper 3 years ago
socialized healthcare is the worst kind.
Timberwolf7585 3 years ago
You're almost right, there are long waits for ER's in the UK but that is for non essential patients (those who don't want to make an appointment to see their GP or too cheap to pay the prescription charge) In the UK if it's an actual emergency you will get seen to immediately. We do also have Private hospitals so if you can afford insurance you get the best healthcare, the only difference between here and the USA is that if you can't afford it you can still get medical treatment.
jrh5573 3 years ago
yeah socialized health care is great!....until I die from blood loss after being in the waiting room for 6 freaking hours.
DrZann 2 years ago
Actually, in Canada at least (where I live) our healthcare doesn't work like that. If someone is in fatal condition, they are treated immediately! No waiting. If you come in with a broken leg, you'll be looked after later than someone who's arm just got chopped off.
Basically it's the same as US healthcare (I'm assuming you help those who need it first) except ours is free. No one dies in the waiting room.
ScissorHand26 2 years ago 3
You have to call an ambulance if you want that kind of treatment here.

TheRealAkaRai 3 years ago

formertofu 3 years ago
I'm not being "higher than thee" as you put it, I'm just saying the "eight bad years" were not the fault of any one political party.
