Hey, KH, there is a really dumb religious defense that requires bashing. The one where the sheep bleat 'these were all evil men misusing god'.
All I can say is these so-called wicked people using and exploiting the religion were religious authorities! You would think that if this did not like the actions of these ‘wicked’ people misusing him, he would DO something about it so no one else would continue that trend. It's not like he hasn't hesitated to kill before chrisitanity especially
People say, religion gives you hope and makes you happy. Sorry, but I live quite jollily by myself and friends (who are also atheist, for the most part) and religion doesn't even come into it. As for the 'hope' I don't care about what happens after I die.. If there's some sort of spirit world, I say cool. If not, meh I couldn't care less.
I consider myself an Atheist, yet I have to say this type of condescending attitude that 'kingheathen' is a large reason why Atheists have a bad name. As Neil Degrasse Tyson once roughly said: "As an educator, it's not the facts that create the biggest impact on an audience, it's the sensitivity towards the audience, combined with the facts =equals IMPACT. " Please think about this if you really want to make a change in the world, otherwise your wasting your breath & only entertaining yourself.
@NathanManga He's talking about roulette. Gamblers often pick a particular number and colour to bet on in Roulette based on a gut feeling. For example, they feel the ball will land on 22 black.
@sean151291 Someone who mocks people who believe in magic. What a surprise. He isnt even arrogant, he just (like anyone with a brain) laughs at how gullible and stupid people like you are.
Agnostic John 3;16 "God apparently loved the world so much that he supposedly gave his only begotten "son" so that who so ever isn't quite sure but thinks their might be a possibility, shall not perish but have everlasting life"
In Alfred the Greats time we needed religion to make people behave better, unlike the danes who killed people, and to create civilized society. Then religion just become zealous xenophobia and caused millions of deaths (crusades, KKK, holocaust, witch hunts), and now it is inhibiting and detrimental to human advancement. If the danes had conquered England in the 880's then England and its colonies would now be like Scandinavia, mostly atheistic and very peaceful and law-abiding.
If England had been conquered by the danes, then most of the world would be rid of the dangerous and virulent meme of christianity. We would still have to deal with the other religions, but the worst one would be gone, because it is due to christianity and its crusades that Islam became so violent and xenophobic. The downside would be we would probably still live in medieval times because the danes would bring no societal advancement. Catch 22. really.
There are people on here that are clearly rattled by ur video. Which says nothing about you. These people are so weak-minded and detached from reality that they can't bare the thought of their precious religion being false. And that bothers me. These are people that can influence the world, and yet they can't understand a very simple fact. I like what you are doing.
why spend so much time talking about religion? if your a atheist go out and live your life and shut up. all you do is piss people off. one day you are going o say the wrong thing to the wrong person and get yourself killed. for example go to a group of Muslims and call allah a pimp and see what happens. i'm a Jewish christian and i would just talk with you because debating atheist are fun to debate plus Jesus said to love you even if you are disrespectful ass hole.
Disrespectful? So? Respect is earned, not granted. It doesn't matter how long your paltry religion has been the cultural norm; that doesn't grant it anything that anyone else doesn't have. Besides, you should try acting as an atheist in a religious community for a day or two and then talk to us about disrespect. Christians and most theists don't have the faintest clue what respect is unless it's being heaped upon them by fiat.
@TheMrblake1314 I don't know what was said to you (I'm way to fatigued to try to look for it), but such close-minded remarks and generalizations, such as your new-found hatred of atheists, is exactly what sane and intelligent people despise. It gets nobody anywhere and perpetuates anger in a way that only hurts society.
The way your talking about christians it says to me that a christian or several have pissed you off in some way. I'm sorry that you have had to deal with zealots from our faith but zealots are in every religion, so its really not fair that you accuse us of being some kind of scourge on society. If your an athiest then your an athiest. If i'm a christian then i'm a christian. Believe what you believe and il believe what I believe but stop antagonizing people like this.
So says a member of the virulent plague that is Christianity. We have just as much right to talk about this stuff as the religious do; and you guys do it constantly. Atheists are routinely told they're going to hell, ostracized by theists, etc. On top of that the more repugnant of your 'faith' try stupid shit like getting creationism taught in schools. And so long as you support the base ideas behind that 'faith' you support the extremists.
"Atheism is so senseless. When I look at the solar system, I see the earth at the right distance from the sun to receive the proper amounts of heat and light. This did not happen by chance. The motions of the planets require a Divine arm to impress them." Sir Isaac Newton
Religion will disappear from this planet in about 200 years, new generations of the world at the present time will make more use of the brains and common sense, the new generations will learn that religions evolved from myths, tattle tales*, superstitions, our universe has millions of years of existance, human beings will be able to wait around 200 years. * some tattle tales: Adan and Eve, original sin, some ghosts watching us from the sky, the rainbow, Noah's ark etc etc etc etc.
@tumamacantaybaila Don't be so optimistic. As long as there's human stupidity, ignorance, and willing obedience, there will be religion. Religion is rooted in the despotic insticnt in people and is part of our chimp inheritance. In order to get rid of religion, you'd have to alter human DNA. :(
Just a funny thing I thought of: If the majority of people are stupid, wouldn't that cause the average level of intelligence to drop meaning that they are no longer stupid but at about the right level?
I'm not sure if this was a joke but i saw a quote a while back saying that 54% of American students are below average....
I really don't think I need to explain anything here.
Look at all the good religion has done (with the exception of judaisism because they never do anything bad)!!! BULLSHIT . it made the crusades and islamic and christian terrorists, The christians and islamic people have always massacred jewish people. Its also set us back to long to count. If from the beginning we didnt believ in a spiritual presence we may have exelled in scientific developments. We would probably be the same as in starwars because we could just progress with science!!!
@NoneShaltPass hmmmm.. Great question dude.. I think GOD created us and we created 'gods' the real one is just "ONE".. and only ONE, and GOD was not begotten (reproduced by some other GOD, cuz that would make him 2 and not 1, and GOD did not beget (Reproduce) another god, a son of god, cuz that would again make him 2 and not 1).. and that one True GOD is not in His creation and is not like his creation) - So he's not like humans, animals or anything we know! This is the islamic concept of GOD.
@NoneShaltPass "We" didn't create god. God is something anybody that believes in god creates for themselves as a method for comprehending what should be a simple and commonly accepted fact. But these people have boxed their minds in. And as they continue to stay close-minded, they continue to deteriorate their minds by throwing away useful information and replacing it with stories... that were written by people... at a time when people didn't know shit about anything.
I always liked number three. My example, though not perfect was always this, if a science book from 20 years ago says one thing, and we prove that one thing is not correct, it gets modified or changed in new books, and that one thing would no longer be valid to use. Ask them if they agree, and if they still don't think it applies, ask to see their bible, when they had it to you, hit them with it.
My biggest question is when the point that religion brings peace and love comes up. I dont understand why we can't just have peace and love and everything nice without this fake "believe what i say or else" bullshit actually starting wars and shit. If religions died out this world would be a hell of a lot better. I hope
who the fuck are you? and why are you posting the same shit every other fucker has all ready posted? man! you are a dull arsed geek ...."you get this a lot from christians?" fuck off! . who on earth would waste their time debating with a stay at home geek like you?
i say everyone should stop believing, not because its all complete bullshit... even tho it is... but that if everyone stopped believing, we would stop going to churches... we would get inspired into different things, like believe more in technology... we would create more... we will exist.. not because of a gay bible but because we would make ourselves exist...
How come some atheists (I say some because I have a LOT of friends who are atheists who do not do this) have to put down people who do choose to believe in something? How come we can't all just live and let live? I'm Muslim, and have to fight Islamophobia from idiot so-called christians all the time. I hate the idea of also having atheists being down on me, too. :-/ Can't we all just live in peace?
@DazeyLin I don't put down "people who do choose to believe in something"...I might put down someone who believes "something completely ridiculous." As I'm sure you probably do too. For example, I don't think you are stupid for being a Muslim, but you and I BOTH might think someone that HAPPENS to be a Muslim and believes that they get 72 virgins if they kill themselves would be a bit off their rocker, right?
@KingHeathen 72 virgins is a part of islamophobia so that has nothing to do with Islam or the quran... but most believe they do get rewarded for jihad... if your going to say bad things about a belief study it don't just look at the news then think you know everything... that why i think it is funny to talk with atheists about the bible because they usually no nothing only stuff like the easter bunny and Santa which has nothing to do with the bible or religion...
Funny since studies have shown on average agnostics and atheists know more about the bible than anyone other than Jews and Mormons (and in their cases they only know a lot about their particular denominations, not as much general info as atheists)
I don't expect a little thing like reality to get in the way of your preconceived notions though.
@Vire70 i'm Jewish and believe in Christ... i read lots lol... well i have talked to a lot of atheists since i have many friends who are and they don't know crap only a few know some... its fun to make their head hurt. i got in a debate with my driver ed teacher and he was a agnostic and he knew lots but he also was a minister before. and he likes to use stuff like the talking donkey lol i laughed at him.. typical come back for them which then i explain and make them think of something else
@Vire70 well my problem is i am nice to people even the stupid people... its better to have more friends then enemies and that's how i think of things...great come back a little noobish but funny :)
@DazeyLin I don't believe in putting people down. I just believe in putting down ideas that are not backed by objective evidence, and in honest debate. When, say, a young Earth creationist tells me there are no transitional fossils, I generally will point him/her to a few review articles that show the transitions and ask him/her to explain to me why the article is wrong. I have yet to hear back from a single one who was interested in discussing the evidence.
@DazeyLin I have a deep belief that one day I will become King of Atlantis after it rises out of the sea in the year 2054. This belief is not imaginary, it's real because my parents brought me up to belive in it and it gives my life real meaning. it helps me be nice to people and I can't imagine a world, in fact I wouldn't want to live in a world in which I don't become King of Atlantis.I don't have any evidence but that's why it's called faith.... so...would you trust me with your kids?
@DazeyLin When we look back over history its plain to see that religious people can't live with each other let alone with others outside their religion. Its time to show you that your life is a lie and that all you have to do is open your mind a bit.
@DazeyLin I'm Malay. In Malaysia, Malays are constitutionally defined as Muslims. Anyone wanting to leave Islam will have a very hard time doing so. Alienation and mockery I can handle, but the few times that I've been honest about being atheist I've been threatened with physical force and death. Can't we all just live in peace?
@DazeyLin I don't pick on a person's religious beliefs until they verbally attack me on account of my atheism. And if a religious person says they BELIEVE god exists, I leave them alone. It's only when they say they KNOW god exists that I feel the need to ask them how they KNOW.
@DazeyLin We don't put down "people who choose to believe in something", we just stand up for what has been denied to us for so long. We have been tortured, killed and done cruel things to just because we started reasoning, and now that we voice ourselves, it's wrong? We are constantly attacked by religious people, treated differently by them, looked down upon! We want peace, but to achieve peace, I'm sorry to say, Religion must be discarded, Period!
@DazeyLin - it is not about putting peoples beliefs down but combating ignorance and superstition that the religious seek to impose on others through the imposition of god in science classes.
I will not try to put religious poeple down. My parents are... i love them, and they love me even if we do not share faith. And that is why i will not try to put them donw.
They are open minded enough to understand that religion is what it is and that even thier own kid have the right not to follow thier faith.I had my reasons not to belive in religion. And i will fight each and every time someone will try to prove me i'm wrong.
@DazeyLin No because peace requires a lack of conflict. Humanity evolved in a world where conflict brought survival and progress to those that survived it. The world is not a fair place, it never has been and never will be, because of that, Humanity will never be able to fully agree on anything and as a result there will always be some sort of conflict waiting to erupt.
I'd also like to point out that your religion along with all others do not teach peace (except Buddhism).
@DazeyLin I don't think atheists want to put you down or make you feel stupid, but just like religious groups, we also feel misunderstood and like to have our own defence for our non-belief. Muslims and christians complain about other people trashing their religion, but religious people very often try to "save" you, or show up at your doorstep to convert you and tell you you are going to hell. How is that for discrespect? Why should we respect believers, when you don't respect non-believers?
@DazeyLin we cant a long as religion effects laws in this world. I cant accept that in countries women have to wear extra clothing or they will get punished. i cant accept that people give money to christian churches, when it could have gone to children in Africa who actually need it. i cant accept the wars they start over it. i cant accept that people keep science back and detrust things that we can actually observe in nature, because of religion. if religious people didnt do all that id accept
@Mrmcroller Religion leads to people getting lost in their own abstractions. Instead of seeing what is and operating on what is truly best for their people, children and themselves people get caught up in boundaries and other nonsense made up by our minds and butcher each other in a state of insanity that need not exist. If everyone was an atheist there would be no wars. We would work things out so that people don't succumb to desperation and so all nations (groups of people) would be protected
Actually that's not really true either: You discount greed, and other human faults. This is coming from a fellow atheist btw. But yes it would certainly reduce conflicts if everyone was atheist, we'd have none of the secterian violence, and religion vs religion wars. Doesn't make war over natural resources, or the vanity of dictators and politicians any less of a problem.
@TheKaerius Religion makes all that possible. If people understood that boundaries are just that and that we all just want to exist than people wouldn't send their children to die over stupid crap. Religion is what allows Tyrants and dictators to come to power regardless of their religious stance.
@DazeyLin No we can't, "peace " is not a natural state. Life is full of the most vile, extreme terror anyone can imagine but somehow, because we're human, we're immune to that? No, you believe in fairies, suck up the ire.
If Religious people stopped and thought for a minute they would realize how stupid they sound, I would more likely believe that we evolved from simple organism then were spontaneously created by some sky father who we have never seen and is always hiding and working in mysterious ways and must rely on *faith* with no evidence to believe in him. Whomever says that the bible is evidence is an idiot (carbon dating, DNA, fossils, and logical thinking are all the evidence I need.
and yeshu will save your life if you belive in him.. there will come many .. and no peace.. first the decieving.. and then if u stay with yehshu and DO NOT BELIVE IN THE DECIEVERS than u will see what's happening =)
belive me.. they wanna decieve me too men.. i am your proof.. let me be the one who tell you in the name of ישוע that they tried to decieve me haaard and badly.. but now .. i'm still praying to Ḡòḍ and belive in ישוע
@vanutra yea then give me a scientific - athehistic , stupistig, ignorantistic reason why i saw a devil in the clouds .. just like a dragon or a beast. and i saw more .. tell me.. what is your theory about magnetism and light.. and where got it its power. and you think no one is controling this powers ? hahaha now i laugh
@ItalyStyler07 Was it as clear as this: /watch?v=0ceSACVQCDE
If so, Geo-engineering, baby! They're trying to mind-fuck people so that all you religious people and stupid people get more programmed into the control, system. You know about the NWO?
If you don't believe me, wait and see. It's about to get a whole lot crazier. I hope Jesus can save you ;) ...All though, he's not done eff all in the past 2000+ years he's been around :(
@vanutra yea whatever .. your picture is lovley .. &&& you dont even know what geo engineering is. they think no one controling theese energys ? than why is it so perfect ? .. belive me god made it
jesus was a real person but i highly doubt he performed miracles he was probably just a normal person but the people loved him so they fabricated these stories about him and made him out to be a "messiah" he also probably had brown skin..just throwing that out their
I am so tired of the god of the gaps explanations from these religious apologist. Is that truly all they can come up after two thousand sum years of endless study of a poorly written and edited book. A book by the way that happens to be the worlds oldest game of telephone. Please tell me they have something more than this discredited book to base an argument upon. There simply is no need for a god what so ever!
lol your "parents created" you. ahahaha! they sure didn't. they had sex and you're a result of them having sex. People have absolutely no ability to create life at all. So when people end up with down's syndrome, deformities, any other hereditary diseases, or lack the ability to conceive, it is the parents' fault? No creature alive has ever "created" another life. Ever. We have absolutely no control over how another living creature will turn out. Everything is chance. It is why people pray.
@danielkrye That not true. Scientists have developed such a firm understanding of life and its origins that they have been able to create synthetic life in laboratories and resurrect endangered species. Life is a physical process and nothing more. Praying accomplishes nothing.
It's funny, when I opened this video, the Google ad that came up was from Liberty University, aka Box Top U., how did that place ever acquire a license to issue diplomas?
ok heres what bothers me the most,at first God made adam and eve from his ribs ok and then they had 2 boys ok how da fk did theyr kids made other kids,I mean with whom?if it was just them there?Religion was made as a book of knowledge so idiots wont make the same mistakes thats what i belive the original was ,then some assholes got the idea to rule the world using it and they changed it for theyr own advantage.
@darkerzap5 That's because I think legally, atheism is considered a religion and so corporations like Google will treat it like such and give atheist videos religious ads
Thank you, I hope all Christians are not morons. I really don't like religion and I am an atheist. Also, to refute their innocent, pure children (trusting god), I am a minor, and I would ban religion.
Those are all great points and I found myself nodding my head to some...but I just hope you know that not all Christians are total morons. Don't hold the entire religious population in contempt because of the most popularly ridiculed defenses.
One argument for creation, though, that I'd like to hear your opinion on is "You can't get something from nothing". :)
We do have proof. the shroud of turin was carbon dated to the exact year jesus died. Noahs ark ship marks were found. The bible in genesis accurately talked about biology and Geography scientist this century only figured out.
@flamer41 Are you joking or are you really this naive? The Shroud of Turin was PROVEN to be WITHOUT A DOUBT a fake. There is not a single PLANK from Noah's ark that has been found and all supposed claims of finds have been DISCREDITED by the CATHOLIC CHURCH as being frauds. There is NOTHING "accurate" in biological terms about plants being created BEFORE a sun to feed their photosynthesis. There is nothing geographically "accurate" about penguins making it onto the ark.
@KingHeathen I found a video made by the most brainwashed person I've ever seen. It begs for a challange. it's an animated short called "The Truth About Atheism". just be ready to be a very angry person afterwards.
@KingHeathen Actually, the shroud was not proven fake. There is cotton from later centuries, but that is only because someone tried to fix it up. That was cause of the mistake. However, I'm not saying that it comes from the exact date when the shroud, nor do I believe it to be the actual shroud, is know. It can't be known. We can date it to within a few decades, but not the exact year. Also, Jesus wassn't the only person to be killed in that time frame.
@HimesInu Yes it was...look it up. But this time DON'T go to an apologist's website. Go to an actual historical source with people who publish their results through peer reviewed journals.
@KingHeathen Dude, no it wasnt, just the opposite it was proven WITHOUT A DOUBT REAL. Check into it, I dont want to debate but look it up, its real. There is no way to prove it was the Christ, but the resemblance and timing is perfect.
@arkansasbean I have checked into it...it was one of the first "artifacts" I looked into back WHILE I WAS A CHRISTIAN. The SECULAR evidence was overwhelmingly clear while the "religious support" was VOID of "facts" and filled with "wishful thinking." Check a source that IS NOT an apologist website.
@KingHeathen I have read a lot about it from all sorts of views. I am a Christian, but still view archeological artifacts with skepticism. The only void evidence that I seen was pure conjecture of its validity. The carbon dating was the best, taking samples from the worst possible place on the cloth, full well knowing it was the worst possible place to take a sample. Could you suggest a good source? The only debate that I could find on it was that there is no way to prove that it was the Christ.
@arkansasbean You want a good source to verify that it was determined to be a fraud...how about THE VATICAN!? Even they say it was produced long after the crucifixion would have happened and they even explain how it was made. If you didn't find much out there debunking it, then you simply didn't try very hard.
The worst part of the whole thing is that you keep claiming that "carbon dating" is your support. That is PRECISELY what proved it WAS NOT real.
@KingHeathen Im afraid that you will have to be a little bit more informative then just saying the vatican says so. Interesting that they would make that claim though, but by what athority do they have? Actually, I wasnt debunking or trying to prove it, just trying to get the story straight. Personally, I dont see to much out of the Catholic that makes me think they are even Christian, by far the worst acting, false teaching sect of our faith.
@arkansasbean Before even looking at Carbon dating, historical evidence or even religious doctrine, I must ask why is it that we can recognize the human face on the Turin. Take some face paint, mud or anything that will come off fairly easily. Apply it to your entire face. now place a cloth on top of your face in order to transfer the image. There is an effect of distortion that takes place making an elongated funny-looking face. If the shroud is real why isn't there a similar distortion?
@flamer41 No, the shroud has been dated to around that time. Also, Jesus is not the only person in that area to have died in that time frame. Second, we have what the Church claims to be planks from the ark. Honestly, we don't know where the ark is, so that is impossible. Third, ho the hell would plants survive without sunlight and carbon dioxide? Weren't plants made before the sun? And nowhere does it state anything about CO2.
@Hectom8 DInosaurs were in the ark. In simple logic they were in the ark as an egg or baby to provide space. Since the flood changed the entire earth, the plants and food are scarce and they probably did breed but died out since dinosaurs were big animals and needed way more food, they probably also had a hard time adapting to the new biome and climate in the new earth.
@flamer41 That's frekin' unbelievable. You theists whine about how inaccurate and bogus things like carbon dating are because they undoubtedly point to an earth older than 6000 years. However when it comes to supporting your silly little stupidities about the shroud of Turin (lmfao) it's OK. This accurate representation of biology in genesis. Was it before or after the talking snake. Maybe it was the biological processes that allows an adult male to rise out of the dust of the earth. LOL
@ptango101 What the bible says is snake/serpent is a name for satan. He decieved Eve by looking like an angel NOT a snake as how many people percieve it to be. If it was a snake, Eve would be frightened. Would you listen to a talking snake or an angel? as for the dust, scientists discovered that every single element found in the human body exists in the soil covering our planet. God doesnt directly talk about atoms and elements becuz nobody talks like that in those times.
@flamer41 So you are happy with an adult male rising out of the dust of the earth but you piss and moan about abiogenisis, panspermia and any other natural explanation of how life originated. There is also a lot of toxic elements in "the dust of the earth", what about those? All life shares genes as well but you won't recognise common decent. So how old is the earth? Since you are happy to use carbon dating that means the earth is at least 50,000 yrs old.
@flamer41 "If it was a snake, Eve would be frightened" Why? According to your story they had absolutely nothing to fear until the fall. Snakes and all the other predators weren't predators yet. Actually what did snakes eat? And what did things like spiders and ants ect eat? What was the first web used for? This story just gets sillier and sillier.
@flamer "every single element found in the human body exists in the soil covering our planet" Yes but according to the bible god did not create dust/soil out of man, he created man out of dust. Therefore you would expect to see trace amounts of all elements in the earth, including silver, gold, titanium, tin, antimony, cadmium, cesium, uranium, radon, and mercury and more in the human body. However, since this is not the case, we can conclude man was NEVER made out of dust.
It has stood the test of time? I'm sure the Romans thought that about their empire, until time beat it. It is just a matter of time until Christianity is replaced by something else, which will 'stand the test of time', or at least until that is replaced. And so on and so forth.
as far as christianity standing the test of time, lol, what crap. if time is the factor here then the religion of the dreamtime of the australian aborigines is the oldest of about 40,000 yrs yet the christians wont recognize this belief system.
also christianity has plagiarized most cultures myths to suit their own needs in a bid to have it identify with the ppl they are trying to assimilate. the original virgin birth and resurection story comes from the myth of horus in ancient egypt. these stories were created to help aid ppl to understand the celestial precession. the church has taken these stories and used them as a tool for control right down to the way ppl think. wake up people.
the last thing he said there, about complete, absolute blind faith? I wanna know how ANYONE can do that. I have faith in my friends but because they've given me reason to. that's besides the fact it's not blind faith. christianity has not a single shred of concrete evidence that god exists, therefore I refuse to put my blind faith in him. My goddess, lunar, may only be wishful thinking, but it's a sort of idol I created for myself to represent what I hold dearly. Loyalty, love, and friendship.
You do a terrible job of explaining "number four, every creation needs a creator". You say you were created by your parents, and they were created by their parents. The continuation goes on for how long? What created life, originally? A seed was created by an adult tree, which was created by a seed, etc.
Religion may be a crutch, but there should be serious thought in debating arguments for it. Ever hear of Kierkegaard? His philosophy deals with reason number 1.
@SquallLionhart409 Actually he did fine. Its just when you get so far back you hit the abiogenesis wall which organic material becoming life which goes through stages of non life to life. then if you go further back to get what made up the non organic material that became the organic material and so on and so forth. But to explain this you have to have a decent understanding of many fields of science and it is just easier to stick with the life that is on earth now.
@xynth101088 I know a little about abiogenesis and the supposed Big Bang. We don't know what happened then, which is where religion is able to insert an answer. The correct answer? Well, only the dead CAN know, and dead men tell no tales. There are existential questions to be asked, but the simplest question for me to ask, is how do you know you're not in the Matrix? How CAN you know? How can you know everyone you meet exists for the sole purpose of testing you? One answer is God isn't a prick.
@SquallLionhart409 First off absolute certainty is a waste of time because it's impossible to know something is 100% true. It doesn't make a bit of difference to me if I'm in the matrix. Because this is my reality and where everything for me takes place. Which is all that matters until there is evidence to show that I'm in the matrix. Also even if your god didn't put me in the matrix he is still a prick based on what the bible says about him and his lack of a effect on reality if he is real.
@xynth101088 My point is that it is impossible to declare religion is wrong about creation. You can state religion is likely wrong, but insulting people for being likely wrong is just less satisfying. You answered what is real by saying what you perceive is real is real enough. Fair enough. That doesn't mean its real. That's the inherit problem with this argument. Old Testament God was a bit of a prick, that's supposedly why Jesus died for us. My God? I'm atheist.
@SquallLionhart409 I never said anything of the sort about creation. You did. As of now there is simply no evidence to support that life or the universe was created. There is evidence to support that they were caused by natural causes however. When did I insult anyone? Again absolute certainty is a waste of time. I really don't know why the writers decided to change gods character between acts one and two. Well you do a very good job at playing Christians advocate then. You fooled me, lol.
@xynth101088 Of course creation is a topic in this discussion. My original post, which you disagreed with, deals with point 4, every creation needs a creator. 4:45-5:35 is where I'm saying he did a terrible job of disproving the religion defense. Your comments have done a better job in disproving 4. The video does the insulting. I apologize for insinuating it was you. God of the Old Testament was meant to be feared, New wanted to be liked. I play devil's advocate quite often. (continued)
I'm a bit offended by this video calling theists stupid with such poor reasoning. That's why I originally posted. Calling a group stupid without good facts or (scientific) theories to back yourself up with is stupid. My opinion is almost always that a question must be asked. Thought must be given. Both sides of an argument must be examined. The brash dismissal of theism in this video bothers me. Even Einstein was agnostic.
Religions leads to apathy, apathy leads to ignorance, ignorance leads to weakness and weakness evolves into a grass chewing bipedal cow type biological organism that bangs on one book, sees a bearded "holy" man even in their droppings, can only mumble the same phrase time and time again, can't understand anything at all and is too lazy to learn anything other than what's written in their little manual of simpletons life they call the bible. Darwin was wrong with one species; "Homo Biblebangus"
also remember the bible was man-made, made about 1900 years ago, about past events occurring before the majority knew how to read and write in some instances were large groups of people died.
the bible is only a tool these moralizing monkeys use to elevate their words by invoking some mysterious, invisible third-party. it is merely compensation, and people who invoke the bible can not make any claims or assertions on their own merits
i agree with 90 % of this

Religion = "state of life bound by monastic vows"
Monastic: stricly disciplined
What does this have to do with Jesus?
Answer: Nothing
By the way, any government with a constitution is 'strict' on anyone who is not 'disciplined'/conditioned/brainwashed to follow 'their' way

:)
MegaSolipsist 2 months ago
@MegaSolipsist Continuing my own argument:
Catch 22. really.

@TheMrblake1314

If your an athiest then your an athiest. If i'm a christian then i'm a christian. Believe what you believe and il believe what I believe but stop antagonizing people like this.

@DazeyLin I don't put down "people who do choose to believe in something"...I might put down someone who believes "something completely ridiculous." As I'm sure you probably do too. I have yet to hear back from a single one who was interested in discussing the evidence.
acr08807 5 months ago
@DazeyLin I have a deep belief that one day I will become King of Atlantis after it rises out of the sea in the year 2054. This belief is not imaginary, it's real because my parents brought me up to belive in it and it gives my life real meaning. it helps me be nice to people and I can't imagine a world, in fact I wouldn't want to live in a world in which I don't become King of Atlantis.I don't have any evidence but that's why it's called faith.... so...would you trust me with your kids?
MusicStudyMan 4 months ago
@DazeyLin When we look back over history its plain to see that religious people can't live with each other let alone with others outside their religion. Its time to show you that your life is a lie and that all you have to do is open your mind a bit.

@DazeyLin I'm Malay. In Malaysia, Malays are constitutionally defined as Muslims. Anyone wanting to leave Islam will have a very hard time doing so. Alienation and mockery I can handle, but the few times that I've been honest about being atheist I've been threatened with physical force and death. Can't we all just live in peace?
TADahar 3 months ago
@DazeyLin I don't pick on a person's religious beliefs until they verbally attack me on account of my atheism. And if a religious person says they BELIEVE god exists, I leave them alone. It's only when they say they KNOW god exists that I feel the need to ask them how they KNOW.
TADahar 3 months ago
@DazeyLin We don't put down "people who choose to believe in something", we just stand up for what has been denied to us for so long. We have been tortured, killed and done cruel things to just because we started reasoning, and now that we voice ourselves, it's wrong? We are constantly attacked by religious people, treated differently by them, looked down upon! We want peace, but to achieve peace, I'm sorry to say, Religion must be discarded, Period!

And i will fight each and every time someone will try to prove me i'm wrong.
alis3301 3 months ago
@DazeyLin No because peace requires a lack of conflict. Humanity evolved in a world where conflict brought survival and progress to those that survived it. The world is not a fair place, it never has been and never will be, because of that, Humanity will never be able to fully agree on anything and as a result there will always be some sort of conflict waiting to erupt.
I'd also like to point out that your religion along with all others do not teach peace (except Buddhism).
scaryninja1693 3 months ago
@DazeyLin I don't think atheists want to put you down or make you feel stupid, but just like religious groups, we also feel misunderstood and like to have our own defence for our non-belief. Muslims and christians complain about other people trashing their religion, but religious people very often try to "save" you, or show up at your doorstep to convert you and tell you you are going to hell. How is that for discrespect? Why should we respect believers, when you don't respect non-believers?
synnesne0204 3 months ago
@DazeyLin we cant a long as religion effects laws in this world. I cant accept that in countries women have to wear extra clothing or they will get punished. i cant accept that people give money to christian churches, when it could have gone to children in Africa who actually need it. i cant accept the wars they start over it. i cant accept that people keep science back and detrust things that we can actually observe in nature, because of religion. if religious people didnt do all that id accept
Mrmcroller 2 months ago
@Mrmcroller Religion leads to people getting lost in their own abstractions. Instead of seeing what is and operating on what is truly best for their people, children and themselves people get caught up in boundaries and other nonsense made up by our minds and butcher each other in a state of insanity that need not exist. If everyone was an atheist there would be no wars. We would work things out so that people don't succumb to desperation and so all nations (groups of people) would be protected
Luigi84289 2 months ago

Actually that's not really true either: You discount greed, and other human faults. This is coming from a fellow atheist btw. But yes it would certainly reduce conflicts if everyone was atheist, we'd have none of the secterian violence, and religion vs religion wars. Doesn't make war over natural resources, or the vanity of dictators and politicians any less of a problem.

So when people end up with down's syndrome, deformities, any other hereditary diseases, or lack the ability to conceive, it is the parents' fault? No creature alive has ever "created" another life. Ever. We have absolutely no control over how another living creature will turn out. Everything is chance. It is why people pray.

There is an ad for a Christian College right next to this video.

@darkerzap5 That's because I think legally, atheism is considered a religion and so corporations like Google will treat it like such and give atheist videos religious ads

@RRV85 either that or cause there's a tag "religion" in the video

Why do you think that?

Thank you, I hope all Christians are not morons. I really don't like religion and I am an atheist. Also, to refute their innocent, pure children (trusting god), I am a minor, and I would ban religion.

@MrCombineFaces I would also ban religion. Imagine a religion-free-world... BLISS.

The bible in genesis accurately talked about biology and Geography scientist this century only figured out.
flamer41 7 months ago

@Nomis095 Thank you. There's going to be one pissed off Christian. This will be fun.
HimesInu 6 months ago
@Nomis095 I failed. I wanted to go and make my case, but I couldn't stop laughing long enough to do so.
HimesInu 6 months ago
@KingHeathen Actually, the shroud was not proven fake. There is cotton from later centuries, but that is only because someone tried to fix it up. That was cause of the mistake. However, I'm not saying that it comes from the exact date when the shroud, nor do I believe it to be the actual shroud, is know. It can't be known. We can date it to within a few decades, but not the exact year. Also, Jesus wassn't the only person to be killed in that time frame.
HimesInu 6 months ago
@HimesInu Yes it was...look it up. But this time DON'T go to an apologist's website. Go to an actual historical source with people who publish their results through peer reviewed journals.
KingHeathen 6 months ago
@KingHeathen I didn't. My source for this was is a History Channel show that premiered a feew years ago.
HimesInu 6 months ago
@KingHeathen Dude, no it wasnt, just the opposite it was proven WITHOUT A DOUBT REAL. Check into it, I dont want to debate but look it up, its real. There is no way to prove it was the Christ, but the resemblance and timing is perfect.
arkansasbean 6 months ago
@arkansasbean I have checked into it...it was one of the first "artifacts" I looked into back WHILE I WAS A CHRISTIAN. The SECULAR evidence was overwhelmingly clear while the "religious support" was VOID of "facts" and filled with "wishful thinking." Check a source that IS NOT an apologist website.
KingHeathen 6 months ago
@KingHeathen I have read a lot about it from all sorts of views. I am a Christian, but still view archeological artifacts with skepticism. The only void evidence that I seen was pure conjecture of its validity. The carbon dating was the best, taking samples from the worst possible place on the cloth, full well knowing it was the worst possible place to take a sample. Could you suggest a good source? The only debate that I could find on it was that there is no way to prove that it was the Christ.
arkansasbean 6 months ago
@arkansasbean You want a good source to verify that it was determined to be a fraud...how about THE VATICAN!? Even they say it was produced long after the crucifixion would have happened and they even explain how it was made. If you didn't find much out there debunking it, then you simply didn't try very hard.
The worst part of the whole thing is that you keep claiming that "carbon dating" is your support. That is PRECISELY what proved it WAS NOT real.
KingHeathen 6 months ago
@KingHeathen Im afraid that you will have to be a little bit more informative then just saying the vatican says so. Interesting that they would make that claim though, but by what athority do they have? Actually, I wasnt debunking or trying to prove it, just trying to get the story straight. Personally, I dont see to much out of the Catholic that makes me think they are even Christian, by far the worst acting, false teaching sect of our faith.
arkansasbean 6 months ago
@arkansasbean Before even looking at Carbon dating, historical evidence or even religious doctrine, I must ask why is it that we can recognize the human face on the Turin. Take some face paint, mud or anything that will come off fairly easily. Apply it to your entire face. now place a cloth on top of your face in order to transfer the image. There is an effect of distortion that takes place making an elongated funny-looking face. If the shroud is real why isn't there a similar distortion?
ShrodingerFu 6 months ago
@flamer41 the bible also says the earth has four corners, check the world map, it has five corners, so much for the bible....
Mrmcroller 7 months ago
@flamer41 No, the shroud has been dated to around that time. Also, Jesus is not the only person in that area to have died in that time frame. Second, we have what the Church claims to be planks from the ark. Honestly, we don't know where the ark is, so that is impossible. Third, ho the hell would plants survive without sunlight and carbon dioxide? Weren't plants made before the sun? And nowhere does it state anything about CO2.
HimesInu 6 months ago
@flamer41 Noas arc makes no since, since dinosaurs lived with humans according to the bible and noas arc saved all animals where are the dinosaurs?
Hectom8 6 months ago
@Hectom8 DInosaurs were in the ark. In simple logic they were in the ark as an egg or baby to provide space. Since the flood changed the entire earth, the plants and food are scarce and they probably did breed but died out since dinosaurs were big animals and needed way more food, they probably also had a hard time adapting to the new biome and climate in the new earth.
flamer41 6 months ago
@flamer41 That's frekin' unbelievable. You theists whine about how inaccurate and bogus things like carbon dating are because they undoubtedly point to an earth older than 6000 years. However when it comes to supporting your silly little stupidities about the shroud of Turin (lmfao) it's OK. This accurate representation of biology in genesis. Was it before or after the talking snake. Maybe it was the biological processes that allows an adult male to rise out of the dust of the earth. LOL
ptango101 6 months ago
@ptango101 What the bible says is snake/serpent is a name for satan. He decieved Eve by looking like an angel NOT a snake as how many people percieve it to be. If it was a snake, Eve would be frightened. Would you listen to a talking snake or an angel? as for the dust, scientists discovered that every single element found in the human body exists in the soil covering our planet. God doesnt directly talk about atoms and elements becuz nobody talks like that in those times.
flamer41 6 months ago
@flamer41 So you are happy with an adult male rising out of the dust of the earth but you piss and moan about abiogenisis, panspermia and any other natural explanation of how life originated. There is also a lot of toxic elements in "the dust of the earth", what about those? All life shares genes as well but you won't recognise common decent. So how old is the earth? Since you are happy to use carbon dating that means the earth is at least 50,000 yrs old.
ptango101 6 months ago
@flamer41 "If it was a snake, Eve would be frightened" Why? According to your story they had absolutely nothing to fear until the fall. Snakes and all the other predators weren't predators yet. Actually what did snakes eat? And what did things like spiders and ants ect eat? What was the first web used for? This story just gets sillier and sillier.
ptango101 6 months ago
@flamer "every single element found in the human body exists in the soil covering our planet" Yes but according to the bible god did not create dust/soil out of man, he created man out of dust. Therefore you would expect to see trace amounts of all elements in the earth, including silver, gold, titanium, tin, antimony, cadmium, cesium, uranium, radon, and mercury and more in the human body. However, since this is not the case, we can conclude man was NEVER made out of dust.
charbroiledmonk1033 6 months ago
@ptango101 what are you talking about the earth being older than 6000yrs I never said anything was 6000 thousands years.
flamer41 6 months ago
It has stood the test of time? I'm sure the Romans thought that about their empire, until time beat it. It is just a matter of time until Christianity is replaced by something else, which will 'stand the test of time', or at least until that is replaced. And so on and so forth.

as far as christianity standing the test of time, lol, what crap. if time is the factor here then the religion of the dreamtime of the australian aborigines is the oldest of about 40,000 yrs yet the christians wont recognize this belief system.

also christianity has plagiarized most cultures myths to suit their own needs in a bid to have it identify with the ppl they are trying to assimilate. the original virgin birth and resurection story comes from the myth of horus in ancient egypt. these stories were created to help aid ppl to understand the celestial precession. the church has taken these stories and used them as a tool for control right down to the way ppl think. wake up people.
thx1103n 7 months ago
the last thing he said there, about complete, absolute blind faith?

SquallLionhart409 8 months ago
@SquallLionhart409 Actually he did fine. Its just when you get so far back you hit the abiogenesis wall which organic material becoming life which goes through stages of non life to life. then if you go further back to get what made up the non organic material that became the organic material and so on and so forth. But to explain this you have to have a decent understanding of many fields of science and it is just easier to stick with the life that is on earth now.
xynth101088 7 months ago
@xynth101088 I know a little about abiogenesis and the supposed Big Bang. We don't know what happened then, which is where religion is able to insert an answer. The correct answer? Well, only the dead CAN know, and dead men tell no tales. There are existential questions to be asked, but the simplest question for me to ask, is how do you know you're not in the Matrix? How CAN you know? How can you know everyone you meet exists for the sole purpose of testing you? One answer is God isn't a prick.
SquallLionhart409 7 months ago
@SquallLionhart409 First off absolute certainty is a waste of time because it's impossible to know something is 100% true. It doesn't make a bit of difference to me if I'm in the matrix. Because this is my reality and where everything for me takes place. Which is all that matters until there is evidence to show that I'm in the matrix. Also even if your god didn't put me in the matrix he is still a prick based on what the bible says about him and his lack of a effect on reality if he is real.
xynth101088 7 months ago
@xynth101088 My point is that it is impossible to declare religion is wrong about creation. You can state religion is likely wrong, but insulting people for being likely wrong is just less satisfying. You answered what is real by saying what you perceive is real is real enough. Fair enough. That doesn't mean its real. That's the inherit problem with this argument. Old Testament God was a bit of a prick, that's supposedly why Jesus died for us. My God? I'm atheist.
SquallLionhart409 7 months ago
@SquallLionhart409 I never said anything of the sort about creation. You did. As of now there is simply no evidence to support that life or the universe was created. There is evidence to support that they were caused by natural causes however. When did I insult anyone? Again absolute certainty is a waste of time. I really don't know why the writers decided to change gods character between acts one and two. Well you do a very good job at playing Christians advocate then. You fooled me, lol.
xynth101088 7 months ago
@xynth101088 Of course creation is a topic in this discussion. My original post, which you disagreed with, deals with point 4, every creation needs a creator. 4:45-5:35 is where I'm saying he did a terrible job of disproving the religion defense. Your comments have done a better job in disproving 4. The video does the insulting. I apologize for insinuating it was you. God of the Old Testament was meant to be feared, New wanted to be liked. I play devil's advocate quite often. (continued)
SquallLionhart409 7 months ago
I'm a bit offended by this video calling theists stupid with such poor reasoning. That's why I originally posted. Calling a group stupid without good facts or (scientific) theories to back yourself up with is stupid. My opinion is almost always that a question must be asked. Thought must be given. Both sides of an argument must be examined. The brash dismissal of theism in this video bothers me. Even Einstein was agnostic.

Religions leads to apathy, apathy leads to ignorance, ignorance leads to weakness and weakness evolves into a grass chewing bipedal cow type biological organism that bangs on one book, sees a bearded "holy" man even in their droppings, can only mumble the same phrase time and time again, can't understand anything at all and is too lazy to learn anything other than what's written in their little manual of simpletons life they call the bible. also remember the bible was man-made, made about 1900 years ago, about past events occurring before the majority knew how to read and write in some instances were large groups of people died.
the bible is only a tool these moralizing monkeys use to elevate their words by invoking some mysterious, invisible third-party. it is merely compensation, and people who invoke the bible can not make any claims or assertions on their own merits
