actually most great musicians got there from hard work and practice.. You been playing bass a few yrs.. but how many hours a day do you think your avg is?
@henniebogan1 I don't diss hard work and practice, but what I'm saying is, it's already NEEDED if you want to be a musician - some of us just not there yet mentally. My average is 5-6 hours a day.

My parents came from Indonesia many years ago, but I am born and grew up in the Netherlands, so from the other part of the world. But we are one in Christ.

I was a drummer for 20 years/many gigs. Now, I'm older and want to learn the bass guitar, but a part of me is filled with fear that I won't be able to catch on. I'm moved by your music on the bass, but I have to remember it's going to take me a long time to play at the level you do. See, now I'm comparing myself with you, which is not fair to me, lol. I need to start and work at my pace and enjoy the journey and not try to be the best over night! The ego is hard to control.

my avg is about 3-4 hours a day for 4 years.. and I'm pretty good in that short amount of time.. and i played ALOT....
Most people with a real life can maybe afford 30-45 mins a day of good practice..
All of the really greats i talked to SMV etc, all went through a few years where they really took it to the woodshed
