Yeah, Gate's lab was a throwback to this, just as some of the stuff in X5 was a throwback to X1 (the first Sigma fight, for example).

I'm surprised that he kept the tracks true to the originals. Before he would implement something in between for an extended cover which you would noticed that it kind of trended that way. I'm glad that he kept things short and sweet.
