There's nothing wrong with Florence and the Machine, but their fans always act like they are so "underground" and "special". They are a mainstream band and nothing particularly innovative or extremely talented compared to other acts out there. It's entry level indie, at best.

I don't think many fans act like that anymore,at least where I am anyway,her songs are everywhere and their signed to a major label.I think the main thing people find special about them is the harp and florence's weird(in a good way) vocals.The whole 'indie' label is applied so often its lost its meaning and it doesn't make a band special even if they are..But I'm happy they've achieved mainstream success.

personally i think florence is a wonderfully talented musician. her music is a delight to listen to, and she puts thought and meaning into her lyrics. unlike a lot of musicians, she doesn't seem like she needs to act out the story of the music, she tells it like it's possessing her. it's amazing.
