liked the video i watched the original trilogy on video before the prequels but being a kid who actually watched the prequels in the cinema and growing up in their time, i prefer them, people are so easy to judge them when it actually has a gd story, actors and characters, and people say the phantom menace is the worst when i think its attack of the clones, phantom menace is my favourite :)

In fact they're presented as being quite seperate and independet from the government, only working closely together with the government for the time being, because the circumstances require it.

i guess in episode 3 anakin wanted the high ground. and in the phantom menace, darth maul was either a little hungover or not expecting obi-wan to get a lightsaber. and finally, when obi-wan fought darth vader in episode 4 or 5 (i think it was 4) darth vader was mostly machine, which can be replaced so it's not crap, but obi-wan was old and decided "fml" and lifted up his lightsaber to be struck by darth vader and die. When I saw Episode 3 I didn't like it,it was so harsh!! I hated Obi Wan for what he did to Anakin and then told his son a lot of lies and wanted him to kill his own father !!! He didn't care about how he had left his life and reputation behind. He was a major hero for the clone wars, and probably had fanes across the galaxy. He was sorta famous. Am wondering though, what happened to his padawan Ashoka after his fall?
I'm guessing that one killing children, his friends and enemies that could have been captured, betraying his allies, beating his wife, and turning a democracy into a dictatorship to be ruled by his clan's sworn enemy isn't enough to deserve that fate?
the ending for ep 1's duel was not realistic... in the rest of the duel he was fast and agile bt at the end he failed to move a muscle although he had a few seconds...
at least someone seems to get it ;) I remember thinking to myself in the theatre just how contrived the ending of the light saber battle was - which is a pity cause it was totally sweet up until then!
But wouldn't comparing the two scenes make darth maul's loss contrived, and not the otherway around? I mean, Obi wan was open to attack the whole time he was jumping up in front of, and over darth Maul. And later when Anakin jumped over to Obi wan, he had no way of dodging since he was in the middle of a jump.

darth vader didnt fear palpatine as much as people think. he lost the will to be good. padme was the light of his life, then she died :P and also, other sith masters always try to control their apprentices with fear. Revan and Malak, Sidious and Maul, Exar Kun and Ulic Qel Droma

When I saw Episode 3 I didn't like it,it was so harsh!! I hated Obi Wan for what he did to Anakin and then told his son a lot of lies and wanted him to kill his own father !!! I've got mixed feelings about Lucas: he made my favourite movies but them butchered them with the prequels. He said there were ewoks and Jar Jars in his movies cause they were films for kids and then comes Episode 3, "a more civilized age" with lightsabers used to slaughter people and even children. For kids?

Actually, lightsabers have a setting that lets you turn them from lethal to training setting, for when you spar, and don't mean to cut anything.

Anakin deserved it though. I mean, he betrayed everyone who trusted him. Padme, The Jedi, Obi Wan, and even R2! if I was Obi Wan, I would probably do the same thing. If the entire galaxy was at risk, you would probably do the same thing.

I think NOBODY deserves torture. He could be shown trying to help Anakin, but he didn't, he just stood there watching and shouting at him. When Obi-Wan saw he was beaten he could have shown a little mercy to him.

True, true. Unfortunally, Anakin chose not to see how Obi Wan was trying to help him. His mind was focused on the path of power and darkness. He didn't care about how he had left his life and reputation behind. He was a major hero for the clone wars, and probably had fanes across the galaxy. He was sorta famous. Am wondering though, what happened to his padawan Ashoka after his fall?

But wouldn't comparing the two scenes make darth maul's loss contrived, and not the otherway around? I mean, Obi wan was open to attack the whole time he was jumping up in front of, and over darth Maul. And later when Anakin jumped over to Obi wan, he had no way of dodging since he was in the middle of a jump.
