At the end of the day, we are still neighbors, and still exchange a lot in economic and cultural terms; And look at the disasters that strike from time to time! I am a Greek myself and, indeed, I agree there are a number of deeply rooted cultural differences. I have also grown up, hearing stories of our "heroes" being savagely murdered by the "evil turks". At the end of the day, it appears that our guys did EXACTLY the same things to the other side! It's time to go beyond history. And that's what is happening, with turkish planes being sent to help with the fires, and greek-turkish collaborations on tourism. There is hope, I believe...

I am still having a hard time understanding why they do not recognise it and how big the blow would really be, considering the major changes between the Ottoman empire and the Republic of Turkey. As for your statement on buring homes, allow me to politely disagree. You cannot build a stable future by continuing to burn homes and maintaining hate alive.
