Okay, only even think about downgrading if you have an older wii, from mid 2008 or before. Anything after that is un-downgradable.

But if you do, then first thing you want to do is read up on IOS, what it is, and how it works. Then, use DOP-Mii to remove any stub IOSes that you may have installed. Then, install either IOS 60 (for 4.0-4.1) or IOS70 (for 4.2).  Then, you can safely downgrade the system menu.

Yes, you actually don't need it, you just need to have a trucha bug on an IOS, to get it, run the trucha bug restorer (v1.1) and first downgrade IOS15, then patch IOS36 while running the application under IOS15, and then restore IOS15. Now if you wish you can run AnyTitleDeleterDB and it will let you delete IOS249 and then run cIOS38 rev14.

I would just like to ask you a question, im on 4.2 , and used to be on 3.2 , i want to downgrade because when im on 4.2 you cant install hackmii HBC 1.0.3 on 4.2 u can only install the lastest version of HBC (1.0.6) i want to have the 1.0.3 version of hbc becaus ethat version of it was able to load my Gecko OS. Now taht i have 1.0.6 HBC it loads to a black screan, i was wondering if there is a solution to this, idc if you block me. Do if if you want , but im just asking ,its your choice... =/

That was the best reason ever but you don't need to downgrade (best non region free game reason). You just need to install a functioning IOS60 (v6174). PM me for details.

Nah because Nintendo's got a copyright on that file. In short, Im not breaking the law. The only reason to downgrade anyway is to be able to use your modchip again, there is NO other reason.

Im not gonna delete that comment and you can legally download it from Nintendo's servers which is how I got it (they release it for the upgrades) but you cant do anything with it until you fully mod your Wii at which point there is no point in downgrading.

Because the only difference was increased region protection so it makes most modchips not work but softmod hacks have done everything else. And its not a website and you CANT USE THE FILE until you fully mod your Wii. Which, if you want to downgrade, you cant do. You need to modify your Wii more, PRIVATE MESSAGE ME FOR DETAILS. First off, the most crucial file on your Wii, boot2 is updated in this update. The update is gltichy though so it often causes a permanent, fully permanent brick. In addition, it installs copies of stubbed IOS's over most backup loading IOS's.

it blocks the installation of the backup launcher but I don't believe it will be affected if already installed.

it will affect it, actually. It overwrites cIOScorps (by default except for the new bad ones) and overwrites IOS249, 250 222, and 223, all the backup IOS's. So yeah, it blocks that stuff.

Thanks for clearing that up. I understand why they do this stuff but they have to realize, if they release demos then people will stop downloading games to try them out. It worked pretty well for the Xbox and Playstation brands.

FSToolbox and WAD installs. WAD's can generally be used for piracy so I really don't discuss how to use them. At all.

There is no reason to downgrade, your still gonna need to delete the IOS's above 200 and your there is no reason.

You can USBGecko on Wiiware games on 4.2U, going back isn't gonna do anything. Your already boot2v4ed and you just need to undo all changes but that that the update did, unstump IOS60 and then run USBGecko.

You might need o unstub IOS60, its the IOS's issue, downgrading isn't gonna do anything.

And your done with boot2, you can't undo it. You can modify it for bootmii but you can't delete it for an earlier version.

Use bannerbomb v2 and use the HBC hackmii .5 and then your in better shape. Try using the fix for it though so you can run both. 1.05 is glitchy.

HBC 1.05 has issues, try using the Stack Smash exploit to load it. HBC 1.05 isn't perfect at all yet.

No, actually this is an FSToolbox theme, not a Softmii Tweak Toy theme, the former is very dangerous and risky to install for some people, I did it fine first time, someone bricked their Wii 11 times in a row though with it.

0% if you have bootmii as a boot2, like 80% for your average person through FSToolbox without it. I never have had an issue, some hackers have bricked their Wii 11 times in a row due to screwups.

There are no benefits, they recommend you don't upgrade and definitely DO NOT upgrade through Nintendo, their boot2 updater is actually riskier than almost all hacking system modifications, it has caused many bricks off people's Wii's.
