this is the best interviewer ever, every question fed directly off what he said. His answers were never quickly dismissed and questions were tailored and not scripted. Its this kind of brilliant entertainment you can achieve if the subject feels like you are genuinely interested in what they have to say. Good job whoever you are.
@WeedVulva It actually wasn't that bad of an album. I just recently started getting into Wu tang Clan and it wasn't as bad as people said it was. It's like it is with Bone Thugs N Harmony; after classics like E99 Eternal, the fans just build up this hype and set unrealistic standards and if the group doesn't deliver like they did back in the day, fans spit on the record like its the worst ever - despite the fact that it blows most mainstream albums out of the water.
If we had more RZA's instead of Jay Z's being idolized, this generation would change the world for the better. Just read the comments, it's all the proof you need.
@nyrmcfc6814 Him and Paul Barman/MF Doom combo they among a few other major players in the game, would be able redefine the meaning of Hip-Hop. Back to the roots I say, no more of this "gangsta shit" and more about the issues of life.
I agree, I wish black people would stop with the gangster stuff and go back to rappin how it used to be. I can't relate to all that thug shit they rap about in the mainstream. Don't they realize how niggerish that gangster shit sounds?
@Broyale26 First of all, that type of hip hop exists you just gotta search. Stop listenin to what they put on the radio or on television...90% of mainstream music is fake bullshit. And second of all...Niggerish?? You're an ignorant fool...Do the knowledge and grow.
rza fell off big time with his hip hop hippy look and his wana-b timberland beats,,,"put yo army suit on kid and take it back to tha 90s,,do it for the real fans not these swago fly looking kids",,,,,,rip odb<<< tha real, stay real
Great interview, george lets RZA be RZA. i respect him for talking about dirty and even in the death of a cousin he becomes stronger and wiser, that sh*ts crazy
Great interview, george lets RZA be RZA. i respect him for talking about dirty and even in the death of a cousin he becomes stronger and wiser, that shits crazy
@jaylias-Agreed. That said, there is obviously room for improvement. It would be great if B.O.B. stripped down his production a little bit because he has great cadence and intonation. Sick flow too. T.I., despite having a few humdrum, generic hits, he has some deep shit that I like a lot. But remember, don't get your hopes up. The same promise was shown in Jay-Z and Kanye when they started, but they squandered it for the most part.
I agree that most new hip-hop is shit compared to the 90s.
But not Kanye West - he's done good things and his music is really emotional, which is good cos 90s era hip-hop didn't really have complex emotions...It was either bragging, threatening to kill someone, or it was religious bullshit.
Good interview. The interviewer asked really good questions to allow the RZA to show case his intelligence. You don't see that often with hip hop interviews. PEACE
@grammatas e file, je go o monos logos p ebika na do to video ine e3etias tu "strouboulopoulos", tixeros ellinas na piani sinentefksi p pion, ton RZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RZA is fucking amazing, he is fuckin amazing rapper, fuckin amazing producer, and a freakin hip hop icon man. RZA should do more Producing on next Wu solo albums. Cant wait for the new Wu Record to come out.
Thats why i love the WU they real and you can see the pain he feel with old dirty gone.good brothas man gotta respect the WU.They are probably the greatest rap group ever!
I fuckin love what he said in the end. Mountain of a man right there. I've been a huge fan since the beginning. I may not like everything that he's done, but I cannot help but respect the shit out of him and all those things he's tried. Why? Because he's genuine. Honesty and heart is what he brings to the table. I think the same can be said about the Wu Tang in general - they brought themselves: nothing more and nothing less. Artists.
@richardnixonisgod not sure what you meant by this, but rza WAS essentially the group's "leader". the abbot. he devised their whole plan for success, not to mention providing his now legendary production to all of their greatest work. I would say that he most definitely an amazing rapper AND leader.
Read his two books... Wu Tang manual and Tao of Wu
I will totally read the book bout Wu Tang thats sounds really awesome. In my personal opnion RZA is the really awesome creative artist one but I feel GZA is the leader. I don't know why but I do. And it seems the public leader was Raekwon. Like he was the icon
True that. I hope RZA branches out and does more stuff involved with films. I dig him as a actor and composer but i wanna see get in the directors chair. Word is around that he's gonna direct "Man With the Iron Fist" which sounds dope.
I'd love to see another Wu Tang album that has the ol skool feel to it, i dug 8 diagrams but even though he matured and ill always stick by him, us longtime Wu heads love RZAs ol skool dark gritty beats like on Enter, Gravediggaz, and Forever.
