@BretHardy1 7 years later and they finally decide to show some signs of playoff hope :P this is coming from a leaf fan too 04 was an exciting year for our leafs tho
Flames get over it 2004 Tampa Bay won...U should be still proud of ur team they did hell of a good job they didnt give up at all..Its always these years to come that is 2012+ years..They get more Cups..
@Unkownperson1313 Yeah but as a flames fan it's unbelievably shitty knowing Iginla didn't get to hoist the cup that year, and may never get the oppertunity. Having a team so close, both personally, and game wise and not win is devastating, especially when it was on such a controversial call.
@m4x0wnzu14 yea i understand hey at least ur team won cups look at my team they 44 years old and still havent even won one.they been 44 years losers LOL but hey i like to watch them and thats the Kings.Been 18 years i believe not being in the Stanley Cup Finals.Yea it sucks Lighting got away with it.I still believe ur team will get couple of good players and find the way to get to it and win it.
@dbpain22 Tampa Bay would still have had seven minutes to tie the game up again. Even if the goal counts it's still anyone's hockey game. No one knows for sure if that 3-2 lead would have stood up even if the goal counted.
i don't care what ppl say about the hockey in the 04 playoffs , this was a great year i will always be cheering the canadian teams but i will never forget Dave andreychuk raising the cup !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Leafs4eva1986 Yeah, that's why I was cheering for Tampa, because I wanted to see Andreychuk win his 1st Stanley Cup after coming awfully close in Toronto in '93. Plus, I loved that Tampa team in 2004, they truely deserved to go all the way that year, regardless of what some folks in Calgary believe.
That was a great spring for playoff hockey no matter who ya cheered for:-)
@quikchitters He'd also do that every single time he'd look up at the score clock/replay screen and back down, usually after scoring a goal. Looks like he's all happy then he's all serious.
I know most of u guyz criticize Tampa for not being in a strongely hockey-enforced area, but they won, and what happens is what happens, so GET OVER IT!
guys seriously we could've played the flames ten times they could win 9 but we won the important one. our city is one the cup now. I'm a player who has had a lot of close goals taken out of my book but i don't dwell on those what i do is give the refs something to believe went in and if you can't beat the team thats your own damn fault you lost the one that mattered
ok look calgary had a great playoff run, but get over it, that was bullshit what happened with gelinas in game 6, but at least give tampa bay recognition. Forget their fans and where they are think about players like Dave Anderchuck (idk how to spell his name sorry), Martin St. Louis, Vincent LeCavlier and Brad Richards and Khabiluin to win that cup, thinking about it now though it would've been nice to see Calgary win but come on
@storeflack No, the Flames won game 5 in overtime, thus grabbing a 3-2 series lead, then they lost in game 6 ot, then Tampa won game 7 in regulation, thus winning the cup.
My heart jumped a little when I saw Pat Burns at around 1:47 in the video. Very fitting considering what he's going through these days. Hope he's doing well.
wait if the finals was 7 games and the final game was in tampa wouldn't the lightning be wearing their light jerseys wasn't the change after the lockout
Lets just get Quebec an NHL Team first, they are the obvious and most logicall choice for the next team in Canada with Hamilton in 2nd place. Winnipeg 3rd if those cities pass.
the best playoffs iv ever been witnessed. so many memorable series, such an emotional rollercoaster. last series in my opinion was the best of this last decade.
no they actually didnt win TAMPA BAY DID!.. and i no u r referring to the "phantom goal" when it cleary doesnt go in ... bc there was no CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT IT WENT IN.. get over it
@Tomko401 Nope. In game 6 in overtime Calgary scored but everyone thought it was a save. Replay shopwed the puck crossed the line. had anyone caught that in real time the Flames would have been presented the cup right there at home. FXXK SAKES.
@thomasmoonman They used some technology program thing that showed that the puck had never completley crossed the line. Calgary will always be a loser hockey team. Unlike my Hawks who actually have a cup
@Tomko401 "Some technology program? haha. typical youtube response. And you werent toating The Hawks until they won, Fail. Get a life. sources on this "some technology" ???
I was cheering for calgary too, but you have to consider how close it is (not to mention the angle is "pro-calgary") you can never say for sure because of inconclusive evidence
Are you kidding?! This years Montage was absolutely enchanting! Not taking anything away from this one, 'cause it's one of the best songs. But 2009 was awesome!!!!!!
oh man, really, 5 years later and your still bitching about the "phantom goal" eh? look at my video, I think you'll change your mind.
And about Stamkos? are you kidding? this kid is going to be sick. He had a decent rookie season at the age of 19 playing for the second worst team in the eastern conference, not that bad eh?
Listen, I have my opinion and you have yours. I stand by it. I never said he wouldn't have a good career, I said he wasn't ready. Therefore, the team will continue to suffer if they build around him now. They just need to add some vets and find a better first year player in the draft this year.
I know the "Phantom" Gelinas goal was in, but it didnt go in unfortunately.
I cant beleive calgary was in double overtime in game 6 to win the cup at home and they didnt score. IN AN EXTRA 40 MINUTES then they ended up losing the cup. 1 goal away from the stanley cup, thats heartbreaking
i think when the oilers where in the finals was the best i loved that...the fans sang the anthem every single 1 of them and then the hurricanes fans tried to be us and sing there anthem next game in oil country the fans just sang louder
Not by much though - I think that only truly started in 2003 in the first round against the Blues. Now it's become a tradition across the country, which is kinda cool.
I live in Calgary, even though ive been a penguins fan my whole life. The city was hockey crazy in those playoffs, game 6 in calgary, I was downtown, the game didnt even start yet, cars honking horns, people wearing red in the streets, amazing atmosphere
cause here in calgary we live for hockey, and the other big hockey cities trash talk us to no end but we stick together and support our boys in red. nothing was better than seeing the underdog canadian team become the first in the finals in 10 years. probably the most spirited playoffs in years. flames are gonna do it again this year, but this time it's for the prize.
I was sad to see them fizzle in the playoffs this year against the Hawks. I love watching Iginla and that team was so much fun to watch. The coach that got fired, Keenan, was pretty shitty though. I hope they're better coached next year because they have the talent to get to the Cup.
Amazing Memories. I really wish Calgary brought the Cup Home, because they deserved it so well. I mean, they weren't even suppose to make the Play-Offs that year. Most exciting Final I ever watched. And a remarkable run by the Flames.

but anyways, i love these stanley cup montages. i cant wait for hockey season to start up again. rangers are brining the cup home this year, as soon as glenn sather stops being retarded and signs shanny already. shanny>sundin
I will agree with that, the 2004 play-offs were amazing. I am english, but i was behind the flames the whole way and that stanley cup finals especially were a real rollercoaster, they went one way then another. I am lucky to have every game on video.
