@FromKreuzberg Simply because if you take the book literally, there are things you need to do, like leaving your identity behind, including your family and friends, giving up all of your possessions, to stop eating. It really depends if you take this literally or as a rough guide, but my cousin in law is currently running around the country, left her children, trying to get picked up by UFOs because of this book. Her dad gave up his life for the book and had a breakdown when he wasn't abducted

@AaronStarseed Yes, but the same thing happens with any "book" or religious text. Some take the wrong things literal, go too far, throw common sense out the window, become obsessed & act compulsively, etc. Whats this bit about "Not eating" though? Is there a literal instruction to not eat, nothing, at all, ever? That sounds like something only 1 out of every few hundred million people could do. There are adepts, yogis & masters who have been documented, even scientifically as "living off air".

I think you're misinterpreting that passage. (food is poisoned, water is poisoned, air is polluted)...this is not food or water or air that our body demands. A book cannot ruin lives a person's expectation however may bring dissapointment. It's not about belief systems .

And this book is obviously not for you.

@pidza21 Actually its you that misinterpreted my entire statement, I was defending the ET 101 against this person's claims. Try reading it again after reading the comment I was responding to. And then all I did was ask if the idea of not eating food was absolutely literal, THAT was a question, not a statement.

@AaronStarseed Yes it is another religious book, there is no rules in the new age, only those given by people in a 'movement'. The book states that you need to teach yourself that you need air, food and water, and so depriving yourself of these is the lesson, once you realise that without these you would die, then you move on to step 2...

Personally I don't think the book is negative, but it is controlling..
