@KISSfan000756 I think he played for the Redskins and the ST coach tried to mess with his form to make it quicker. Didn't work out. Being a punter in the NFL is tough, since there's only 30 of them and the best ones have a 15-20 year career.

ok there is a secret to this, he is useing a helium inflated ball so it will travel further the kicker at greeneville high school in greeneville tn uses helium inflated balls and he has a touchback everytime he has kicked off except for 3 or 4 times and he punted the ball over 60 yards so its just the ball but look up "greeneville and sullivan south football" and u will see wat i mean
No he's just a hell of a kicker. Also you're mistaken because helium would decrease the momentum of the ball by taking away its weight, so congrats you're wrong...
@RollTidetexassucks The snap and foot contact must be made faster in the NFL because the players can usually break through the defense and come at the punter quicker than at a college level.
They released him with an injury settlement. If they wanted to bring him back next year they would have put him on injured reserve. They have cut ties with Brooks. Hes a bust.
They might not have been 76-yarders, but Brooks pinned 'em deep pretty good in today's game. I'd say that he's definitely a step up from Derrick Frost
hold crap, i was not too sure about drafting a punter but damn that was awesome. Just hope he can do that often and also beable to do those punts from midfield and getting it inside the 5
But can he do it consistently? During the 1970s/1980s there was a punter in the CFL (and he tried out with an NFL team) named Hank Ilesic, or nicknamed "Hank the Shank". He'd run off long series of punts of 45-55 yards, and then shank a 10-20 yarder once in a while.
well i have been watching football a long time and i have seen most punters shank a few punts here and there. we will see, he will be better than derek frost though, which isnt saying much i guess. Hope he is good though, hail to the redskins!
One thing that people often forget is that the most important guy on a football team is the punter. Even though technically a special teams guy, he helps your defense out a lot.
A punter is *not* that important, but the difference in net yards on an exchange of punts, 76 versus 40 for the other team, means a net difference of 36 yards.
That much yardage could be the difference between a TD and a FG or between a FG and nothing. And in a 27-25 game, that punt may have been the difference between winning and losing.
I'm a Big 10 guy, so I love those defensive battle games that keep you on the edge of your seat, waiting for someone to score. My favorite kinds of games are the defensive battles. Did you see the 2006 Penn State vs Michigan game? It was classic smash-mouth offense combined with a pair of knock-your-molars-out defenses. Michigan won 17-10, but had to punt more than Penn State, who missed an early field goal and an opportunity for a game winning touchdown at the end.
You're talking about a Ray Guy award winning punter that has been consistent over his entire career. Being a punter, there's not going to be a whole lot of adjustments to make. Druant Brooks is the biggest "sure thing" in the whole draft. He's also never had a punt blocked or fumbled a snap.
I was joking in my post, the idea was that I came here complaining about the pick until I watched the clip. I thought I made that clear by ending with "Welcome to Washington".
HTTR! if anyone wants to see this guy live, NinjaTickets comparison shops a bunch of ticket stores so you can get good prices on redskins tickets. I can't wait to see this guy.
Those who don't like the idea of drafting a punter don't understand the massive importance of field position. Combined with the upgraded offense, this kid may just be one of the most valuable players on the team. It's hard for the other team to score when they're pinned back within their own 15 consistently.
We drafted a punter because our punter sucks and this guy is a beast. Imagine what we could do with a guy who can kick a 70 yard punt. Frost can't even kick a 50 yard punt.
why does it sound like water is dropping during the whole video
