  • I agree !!

  • the depression project

  • god that is so true

  • Depression = fallen state of humanity. Depression is not a sickness that only you deal with. Everyone deals with it in some form. If they say they don't, they're a liar. No one has perfect, stable, supporting relationships. No one has perfect brain chemistry. No one has anything perfect and so everyone battles "depression". It is not any more a sickness than being a human being is a sickness. Just thought I'd get that out there. I hate thinking of my depression as a sickness to "get over"....

  • Very true, with me anyway.

  • I'm 42, and i have been living with it most of my adult life. IT SUCKS!!! I have tried everything under the sun. Some days, I'm fine, but when an episode hits, It's the worst. My marriage failed because of it, I don't date, I'm isolated from friends. If I can learn to control it, things will be better. It's a daily struggle.

  • in depression, you can occasionly self harm. my sister found out and called me an emo freak :(

  • depressed: read the Quran

  • @NoorminAllah what if you don't believe in that faith?

  • @neotri45 How can you say you don't believe in it if you haven't read the Quran?

  • @NoorminAllah read quran?? yeah hearing how allah kills and burn every thing and reading about hell and torture will really cheer them up -.-'

  • @lefthandovRA Try being positive

  • @NoorminAllah ???

  • @lefthandovRA Many people don't feel that way about the Quran. If you do that's fine. But many don't. :) thanks

  • @NoorminAllah ur trying to help her or spread ur religion?? and have u read the quran or any Ibrahamic religion they all repeat over and over if u dont do what they want ur going to get tortured for eternity and that u are bad and sinful...i dont think reading any holly book will help someone with depression

  • @lefthandovRA no. It helped me. I use to be in the same boat. It changed me and gave purpose to my life. Even if someone weren't muslim, they might find benefit. Why would you want to prevent someone from this option if it could save a life (someone from commiting suicide)?

  • @NoorminAllah what if reading those books drove someone more into suicide ???

they need nothing more than someone telling them how bad and sinful they are..and depression is a mental illness part of the brain that produces happiness is malfunctioning..not having purpose etc.. is more of a lack of self esteem issue..that they want to feel good about them selfs

  • @lefthandovRA In every mental institution in the U.S. there is a twelve step program. And that program encourages people to seek out help from a higher power. The Quran speaks straight to the soul that which is in need-hence depression. It's not just a problem of self esteem. You see many times people try to find happiness in people or things, but these don't fill the void that is there. People let you down and material things-no matter how much you buy you only want more and are never happy.

  • @NoorminAllah ur saying that religious ppl are mentally ill and thats why they believe what they believe ?? to help them with their mental illness?..as i said depression is a brain illness it has nothing to do with souls..souls arent even scientific entities...and ur saying if ppl cant find happiness in ppl or things then they should invent imaginary ones and call them religion? i wonder how can someone love something that doesnt reply words or reply love...

  • @lefthandovRA and in fact many many many people have found the QUran to be the key to their happiness

    youtube dotcom/watch?v=5G2BpZZYOvY&feature=related

  • @lefthandovRA youtube dotcom/watch?v=JY9yWVLOfpo

  • @NoorminAllah iam too lazy to open links u can summarize it if u want

  • @NoorminAllah read it and become a crazy terrorist.

  • @bekacynthia that was mean

  • @NoorminAllah sorry, dude, didnt mean to offend you, but honestly, I dont think that becoming religious is what those people need right now. they want to feel better, thats all.

  • @bekacynthia just trying to help that's all. My major was actually psychology.

  • This is very true for me as well.

  • i know exactly where you come from. i was diagnosed in october. :\

  • Forgot to mention that you look very hot. If you were my lady, I'd treat you well. My wife has depression, me a bit too. But I have mastered it. I just take it day at a time. Screw success, money and the like. Just live, be happy. Read alot and Cancel TV. That's a biggie. Makes you feel better. More in control. The world is a bad place. micro your life and live it for you.

  • My dear. Google for "Hardings Ginseng". I've found that this stuff supplements my welbutrin. I feel better on the stuff. Avoid the Korean ginseng....makes you shaky. Use the American ginseng.

  • Nice looking chick

  • yes its more inner thoughts then wat people think of you and people dont understand how you could think that of yourself

  • tottaly its not really much bout wat people tell you that your a loser and stuff its more inner thoughts

  • Thanks for posting this Therese. Youre totally right that the self criticising is the worst part. I hadnt thought about it that way. Im training to be a psychologist, and also suffer from depression myself, which makes it very hard or even impossible for me to have self confidence sometimes.

Take care, and good luck with the happiness :o)

  • Thanks for sharing. You are a beautiful person and you are so full of wisdom.
