I live 65 miles from this lake..beautuful place....used to go feed the big bucks every yr for several yrs..this is a game refuge as well as a state park... the lake has hugh kokanee in it also..word of caution..these deer r still wild animals...feeding them is also risky...small wonder that dog did not set one of those bucks off...
@aceqball This place sure is neat...this place is called Wallowa Lake State Park...Its near a small town called Joseph in northeast Oregon..they call this place Switerland of America..there were some record kokanee caught here in 2010 also...
@prophet59 That is very neat. When is the best time to go and feed the deer? Are they always there? I would love to take my family and feed the huge mule deer bucks like you did. Thanks for the reply
@aceqball the deer r there most of the time..best time to feed the deer is about june on through early oct...do not try try to feed the deer from late oct trough the end of nov.early dec......thid is when they r in rut (breeding) will attack and kill ya...I like to go feed the deer in mid dec through early jan..they start dropping there horns in late jan through march..like I said before, these r wild animals and not tame deer..approach w/ caution...hope u and your family have a blast, be safe.
Velvet does not mean young deer. All deer loose their antlers and regrow them every year, once the antlers are developed they will rub the velvet off.
i've been there cause i live in Union Oregon and joseph is like 65 miles from my house and awesome video!!

What kind of dog is that? It looks like my Lewellin (English) setter.
