Why can't they repaid spinal cords? They can do all sorts of other things?
Also, why was Picard going to die when his artificial heart was shorted out? Why not replicate another one with the replicator, and beam it into place without an incision?
@kmg4 They can't replicate such complex things, and they can't just be 'beamed' in as they need to be placed perfectly in the correct area linked up to his viens and arteries properly, it was a one-off, complex, artificial heart that was designed specifically for Picard.
@Usul573 Yes, but the holographic lungs were fixed in place so he couldn't move what so ever, so a holographic spine would be of no possible use as Worf still wouldn't be able to move and even if he could, he wouldn't be able to leave sickbay.
"Ethics," which was an episode from the fifth season. It has a Wikipedia page with a pretty decent summary. I remember when it first aired, it was a pretty weighty subject for them to go into.
It's a miracle, he can walk!

I think that's Worf's way of saying he wants a second opinion.

Medicine is where ST technology lags a lot.

@JapDaZomby
Neelix had his lungs removed and they were able to do holographic lungs.
Holographic lungs.
Nothing to think too much about though.
