Why does religion have to be this source for prejudice and hate? I go to a Catholic high school where people from all religions are welcome. i do read my bible, i try too every night. i do know that there are some really harsh punishments in the old testament (OT), but as Christians we use mostly the new testament (NT). now don't get me wrong, the OT is very insightful and a good guideline in certain areas but the NT symbolizes the New Covenant, it tells us that as Christians we need to live the way Jesus did and follow Him to the best of our abilities.

i do read my bible, i try too every night. i do know that there are some really harsh punishments in the old testament (OT), but as Christians we use mostly the new testament (NT). now don't get me wrong, the OT is very insightful and a good guideline in certain areas but the NT symbolizes the New Covenant, it tells us that as Christians we need to live the way Jesus did and follow Him to the best of our abilities.

There is no one who has "done nothing wrong" before God. All have sinned, and all are dead in sin. You are already dead. Dead in sin and transgression, dead to the life of God. Unhearing, unfeeling. Your spiritual heart before God is stone cold dead. It does not beat, there is no life. The Bible does not threaten dead people with death - It explains why man is dead and condemned.

God sees every action we take "good" or "bad" as an act of spiritual advancement.
