There may be a good reason for that, both the Guess Who and April Wine had the same producer, Jack Richardson. There is also the fact that for many years the Guess Who was the gold standard of success for Canadian rock bands, so I'm sure that many bands were influenced by then whether they realized it or not. The GH was the first band to hit #1 in the US on their own terms, they didn't go stateside to become American.
