TrueBlood is amazing, the Vampire Diaries is also very good. Don't just dismiss TVD as another frivlolous Twilight-esque show. it has substance, and the actors and script are very strong.
But TrueBlood and TVD can't really be compared. They're too different.

@rachelford2068 In my opinion the series will not ruin the books although I do find Sookie to be one of the most irritating creations known to man sometimes in the series. The vampires make up for it though. It s a good series with some changes from the books that I think enhance the show. I recommend it, if you havent already started watching it that is.... If so do you like it?

There are A LOT of vampire books out there. They all are similar in many ways. It's hard to be "original" when you're all talking about the same creature. There is only so far you can get away from the original vampire without it failing. So it doesn't matter if Twilight and True Blood are alike because they kind of have to be. Currently Twilight is for some reason "a huge sensation." So there will be A LOT of fighting over if Twilight stole from True Blood, Vampire Academy, etc
continuing, Twilight was a great series in my opinion until the movies came out. I'm sorry to all the Twilight fans, but the main characters are played by awful actors. I'm tired of walking around and hearing Twilight this, Twilight that. I can't even stand the whole Twilight subject. The series was ruined for me. There are A LOT of vampire books out there. They all are similar in many ways. It's hard to be "original" when you're all talking about the same creature. There is only so far you can get away from the original vampire without it failing. So it doesn't matter if Twilight and True Blood are alike because they kind of have to be. Currently Twilight is for some reason "a huge sensation." So there will be A LOT of fighting over if Twilight stole from True Blood, Vampire Academy, etc

continuing, Twilight was a great series in my opinion until the movies came out. I'm sorry to all the Twilight fans, but the main characters are played by awful actors. I'm tired of walking around and hearing Twilight this, Twilight that. I can't even stand the whole Twilight subject. The series was ruined for me. Maybe some of you feel the same way about Twilight or you saw True Blood before reading or seeing Twilight, and that affects your opinion. I'm not saying that anyone posting here is..

for sure but I'm sure those people do exist. Honestly, everyone should just end the Twilight thing, and try not to ruin True Blood in that way. I'm starting to hear a lot about it now, and it causes me and many others to not enjoy it as much. Let's just all pick our favorite vampire book/movie/show and just enjoy it. I don't want vampires ruined forever T-T

@love2hate14 because, vampires are supposed to be harmed by the sun. (supposed to, but some authors take it upon themselves to reinvent vampires to be immune to the sun.) they're normally very, very white. so pale, they're almost grey, because their skin has never touched sunlight. black people, though, are so dark because once upon a time in ancient Africa, the inhabitants would spend all day in the sun.

I feel so stupid for going crazy for the twilight books but i mean the books werent bad but compared to True Blood, this is more suspense, blood, love, humor and everything and twilight sas been wayyy overrated. True Blood should be getting alot more attention right now, not some stupid shit that sparkles in the sun..so lame !!

truthfully ima guy and i love twilight but i think true blood is real cool is more adult kinda way,true blood is really good but i still cant say its overall better twilight just because twilight is diffrent from every other vampire movie ive everseen.now diffent doesnt always translate to better but a vamp wolf human love triangle is a interesting dynampic plus that fact that its well casted and geared towards a younger audience makes you feel young when you watch it.

@RaWrTiNyDiNo personally i watched the first ep. and it was more like a porno.but thats my opinion. and the reason in twilight the vampires sparkle( so tired of explaining this) is because they are the ultimate predator.everything about them is supossed to just draw humans in so they can eat them. they are beautiful,their voice draws you in, their smell, and they shine in the sunlight. they are so mesmerizing ppl flock to them and they dig in. if you read the BOOK you would know this.
