Interesting cover. "Sexy Sadie" was the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, whom the Beatles had gone to visit in India. John Lennon thought that the Maharishi had made a pass at a female member of their group. He left, disillusioned with the guru, but Paul McCartney still practices Transcendental Meditation to this day. Can you imagine if the lyrics were "Maharishi, what have you done?" as John originally sang? The Maharishi dies in 2008.
Tell you what inkymoon you go listen to your version and I'll go listen to this one. I was about when the Beatles were around and there were no more egotistical or ignorant people than Lennon and McCartney.
call the police - they've murdered a flawless song - it's an art to make such a fantastic song appear so lifeless. The new 'ending' truly sucks - trying to add to a Beatles song shows a total ignorance of songwriting and an over-active ego/PR machine. Awful version
well i was about to give a negative comment but what the eck you sang the song how you wanted to sing it and im sure lennon wouldnt have minded if he heard it, so carry on folks, your ok, keep making music, the world needs it.
@BGill76 That is because the song is about the degrading pitfalls of shallow and meaningless sexuallity. Nothing is less "sexy" than a girl (person) going through the motions of sexuallity in order to feel valid. Sadie 'lays it down for all to see' and yet her only real impact on others is as a distraction to 'the real deal'...love. She'll get hers' yet... Ps- Have you met Bob Dobbs?

Just back from their gig in an intimate venue- and chatted with Beki and Rachel after-which is not my style at all -but thats what real artists do to you -
I love this song, but the sound of this version calls to every hair on the back of my head to rise and consume every note! Absolutely awesome arrangement and mesmerising sound.
Excellent version of the song! Can't wait to see her at The Green Man Festival!

@MrBushytop Shame they let themselves down with the daft choice of song - must be twisted. I think a better choice would be to cover "Not Guilty" by Beatles - now that would sound good.
Highly innovative interpretation of this song. Lennon would have loved it (not sure if Paul would though). Highly dramatic and creative ending. Thanks Unthanks and come to Australia...PLEASE!!!

OMG - how did they suck ALL the life out of a song that should be impossible to screw up? I really would not have thought such a dull version of this song possible. Are any of them awake?
Utterly brilliant! Had never heard of those girls, but then I did on the free CD with some music magazine of covers of 'The White Album' and this was the best cover.
Well I love it and that's all I give a flying f*** about!

Not very inspiring, is it? Also, I do wonder why so many female singers these days put on that Kate Nash style of vocal.

Very dull, I recommend the Paul Weller version... Sorry, they lack emotion and the lady in the black dress is plain awful.

I think it's a really good version but possibly the least sexy song ever... that has the word "sexy" in the title?

Nice, but not well mixed, vocals are too low... also the other vocals are rather dead, you are supposed to go on the higher octave at parts,

I liked the way the stained glass depiction of piety lost focus as she sang how sexy sadie would get hers yet. And in a church! The nerve!
They took a most unlikely beatles song and made it their own...surely Lennon would be flattered.
I watched the whole 6 minutes and loved it.
I hope they went to confession afterwards..
