@NinjitsuKoala I forgot to mention, the actual metal form is poisinous but the stuff he uses is not (sodium acetate is made from 1 letre of vinigar and 3 level table spoons of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate).

@teresahopkins1980 probably keep adding the Sodium acetate until you can't disolve any more into the water. The reason this "ice" happens is your adding something to a liquid that is warm and disolving it. If the liquid was colder it would not disolve as much of the sodium acetate. Since hes cooling it, it still remains a liquid but then when moved, it solidifies.
