there's an elevator like that one I know of, but the chime when it arrives is absolutely horrible.

Amazing, and is there a video of it?
CaptainElevator42189 9 months ago
@CaptainElevator42189 yes, i think i have a video of it.

Okay, thanks.
That's interesting how one elevator is a Dover traction, and the other is a ThyssenKrupp hydraulic, but both use vandal resistant signal fixtures.

the hospital where i live is a dover traction and it has that type of call button

If the elevator started at 1, what was that sound when you pressed the button??

No. They should have the elevators like the one's at the UT Co-Op Parking Garage.
Yes, I agree, even if it's conventional traction, it's faster, and more energy efficient than hydraulics.
yep but keep in mind. with a hydraulic, all the energy is used for the ascent. the descent uses little to no electricty.. and a hydraulic traditionally has less moving parts..

Yes, but traction elevators are more practical, with fewer parts and energy consumption than hydraulics.
@CaptainElevator42189 That's why I think traction should be cheaper to install than hydraulic.

I agree 100%.
CaptainElevator42189 2 years ago
Yes, but it would have been better if it was 200 FPM.
pretty fast for a hydraulic

The turquoise green LEDs in the up lantern must be GaInN type. Little perks like that drops hint about the recentness of the installation.
GaInN LEDs were prohibitively expensive in the 90s.
UrbexNW 3 years ago
Yes, they were, but I like the green up/red down colors, and LED's are now getting more economical.
Or even ThyssenKrupp's Synergy MRL elevators.
But that wasn't introduced about few years agon when those were installed at that time.
seClip9 3 years ago
No. The elevators were installed in 2003-2004, which was around the same time ThyssenKrupp came out with their MRL elevators.
Oh I get what you mean now
Thanks.
They could have gone with Kone's MRL system.
