saw this group on a Soul Train DVD set on Comcast -don't remember seeing them on the show at the time. I really didn't like disco but I remember this song. Very young adult then. Song is catchy and singable stays in the head.
The beauty and sound of this record and its featured vocalist just overwhelm me with feeling, though I was only a child, Barbara Roy sang this song with such stirring heartache and emotion; it still moves me the same way until today 37 years later!
I remember listening to this late at night on a tinny AM radio, broadcasting from Nashville to my pillow. My grandmama threatened, "If you don't get to bed, I'll BEAT Ya!"
This song was one of the lowest charting Billboard Hot 100 singles of 1974. It charted #93. But this song did chart at #14 on the Billboard R&B singles chart.
The video ain't shit, of course . . . however, the song was one of the vanguard songs for the ushering in of Disco.....and Barbara Roy is Numero uno for what she brang to disco!
