  • Always wondered how a "Penny Farthing" worked. That was very educational Paul. Thanks!Actually I like the sneakers. No need to be too proper. That would reduce the fun factor.

  • Just a couple of tips Paul,

    1:38 WATCH WERE YOUR GOING!!!!!!!!!

2:01 BOTH HANDS ON THE BARS!!!!

    2:35 DOG!!!!!

2:48 BOTH FEET ON THE PEDALS!!!!!

THE WHOLE TIME WEAR A HELMAT!!!!!!

  • I love your videos. You and TJ are soo adorable as are your cats. When I watch your videos it makes me appreciate my kitty even more! Keep up the good work. And I can't wait too see more!

  • The hat, shirt, jacket, and trousers looked about right but I'm not so sure about those sneakers xD

  • Next up - Downhill!

  • proper ataire besides the shoes lol.

  • YOU are the cutest thing EVER!!! And your cats obviously adore you!!! I've seen the new Cat Flatulance video, and was rolling on the floor!!! Your ingenuity is incredible!!! Thumbs up to you ALL..can't wait for the next installment :-) And I agree with Sweetberry 07..you guys would be hysterically wonderful neighbors!

  • Okay I wish I had neighbours like you and TJ. You guys are all kinds of fantastic!

  • While was watching you explain it, all I could think of were the classic images of Gentlemen in the (as you phrased it) Proper Attire. "Glorious" was what I actually said when you introduced that this was about to happen. YAY!

  • I love the part with all the kids following you AWESOME VID loved the flatulence video too!

  • Safety Bike!

    Is it safe to bike?

    Is it safe to bike?

    We can bike,

    We can bike,

Everybody look at your... um, never mind.

  • 1:36 is way EPIC!!!!

  • Your correct use of the word "behooves" made me very very happy. Not something I encounter in day to day life.

  • Ahh! I can't breathe! xD

  • I don't know how I missed this but I'm sooo glad to see it today! The complete outfit really made my day; thank you so much :) Really looking forward to the Cat Flatulence video!

  • haha i love that you wear a helmet 0.54.

    makes it all the cuter.

Hope youre doing well paul. Lots of love , as always.

Alice XxX p.s im working on getting the red ribbon back up asap, just for you. If thats not friendship, i dont know what is! x

  • @percythetrain1 Sweet!

  • LOL, I almost thought you were going to say you borrowed it from your friend, Number 1. Every time I see those bikes, that's all I can think of. Looks like a lot of fun though! =)

    Be seeing you...

    ^_~

  • I noticed your music is from Stavern, Norway. Are you Norwegian?

I'm a norwegian, an a fan of your cat yodeling video :)

  • Looking at your neighborhood, I was disappointed to see some split-entry houses. I thought they were an unfortunate affliction unique to my region.

  • oops i posted twice,so stunned was I by your pennyfarthing prowess, I must confess it made me swoon :-0

  • You sir,are a genius :)

  • Hahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

You Sir, are a genius :)

  • great music selection and salt/pepper filming

  • OMG! I love it! The kids following is the best part.

    >^_^< Kitty

  • This is kinda cool, but may I ask what it has to do with cats ? I was hoping for a preview with the cats.

  • Is this the 'brief history of farting'?

"Throughout history, most mammals and all people have farted."

    Am I close?

  • I must say, the parade of neighborhood children, following along behind you as if you were the Pied Piper of Pennyfathings made me giggle endlessly.

  • @tetrasnores Me too!

  • As usual one of the best things on the interwebs! You guys are great. But I have to tell you that 3 of my Siamese cats were sitting next to me at the computer and when the music started, one by one they stood up, yawned, and jumped down. Oh well.

  • @mary5827 Now, that's cats for ya!

  • It seems you sir, are getting hotter everytime.

Sorry, back to my lil dark place now...

  • Classy.

  • Loved this video. Very informative, entertaining and most importantly, I had a smile on my face the whole time you guys were riding the bikes. Thanks!

  • VERY excited to see you're coming back!!!

  • Marry me!

  • fun, informative video, enjoyed it a lot! especially the ride around the neighborhood.

  • Paul, I like the bit where you ride the old bike in a suit. But I don't like the bits without cats. So I expect an upgrade to cat footage in your next video, or I will be sending you a telegram of disapproval :D

  • I love the flapping coattails

  • Some trepidation from the title, but fortunately no parenthesis around the (h) in farthing, just le fin de si`ecle circus come to town.

Still, I'll watch Le Petomane special, particularly if there are any pen-protected labcoat and goggles-required experimentation to be viewed.

Looking forward to your next work of non-parenthetical () art.

  • Love it!

  • Your videos are always so edifying. I've always wondered how those big wheelers were mounted and dismounted (I have the same curiosity about stilts). Now I know! Thank you. How many times did you have to practice the mount/dismount to execute it so gracefully? It was almost cat-like.

  • The new video/movie - I'm holding my breath in anticipation.

The Penny fathing was also called the 'ordinary', my late grandfather had one. In my local Town a company (Spiller & Webber Est 1890 closed 2009), used to sponsor the racing of ordinary's until the 2nd World War. Quite a sport in its time apparently.

  • Ah, my favorite piece of classical music. Chopin's Waltz No.1 in Eb Major. What recording is this? I've never heard a full orchestral version before.

  • I really enjoyed this. My late Grand Papa was mayor of the little town he lived in around the 1920's and he told me that he rode on of these into the office until my Granny had it stolen so he wouldn't ride this, "dangerous contraption", and kill himself. Thanks for the sneakers, in my opinion it was good for a giggle.

  • Cor blimey!

  • I would just like to say that I believe the title of your upcoming video to be unecessarily long and cumbersome (unlike the word cumbersome which rolls off the tongue like... something that easily rolls off the tongue). Might I suggest "The Engineer's Guide to Catulence"? No? Oh, ok then. Carry on.

  • @ejskluz a circular lolly perhaps? it got into your mouth because you thought it would taste good but then to your distaste (:D) it was several years old and rolled of your tongue effortlessly.

  • Top o' the morning to you, sir! :D

  • Paul. Marry me. Now.

  • Paul, I'm hoping in the new video you'll cover the issue of why cats like to shove their rear ends into their humans' faces. Also their defensive use of flatulence when picked up. I've experienced both of these personally, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

  • @melhope definitely not the only one.. :D

  • The best thing is all those kids following the pennyfarthing around on their assorted and sundrey convenyances that are all offspring of the pennyfarthing.

  • Kitten farts are the worse!

  • Delightful video, Paul! I'm looking forward to your views on the history of farting particularly relating to cats as I have two champion farters myself. Zippy Bo Bippy, I'm happy to say, has grown up a bit and is no longer known as "The Smelly Kitten." In keeping with your nod to bygone times, will you reference one Mr. Pujol, a TRUE champion farter of yesteryear, who made a lucrative living at it? He regularly outsold the great Sarah Bernhardt at "concert!"

  • Those kids don't even know what a vinyl record or a rotary phone are, I wonder what in the world they think of this bike - hahahahahahhaa

  • Wonderful...! Loved the neighborhood tour, with trailing retinue... You've made my Friday!

  • Nice. I wheelie, wheelie like it! And I'm guessing that TJ's ride (which is pretty sweet too) would be a halfpenny-farthing?

Patiently awaiting the addition of some kitty side-cars so that Ginger can cruise the 'hood too...

  • Wahoo....what a trip and really entertaining. Love the parade at one point too...:-)

Two thumbs up for not breaking a bone. ;-)

  • Paul and TJ, you've done it again! Glad to see the neighborhood kids included in the vid. Love the non-reaction of the neighbor lady with the lawnmower, " OK yeah, that must be the crazy cat guy again." Love the old-timey clothes too!!

  • I loved the mustache and your escort. LOL. Very well done sir.

  • Well done Paul! Bravo!! However, points were deducted for failure to obtain proper foot attire. I was really hoping for some spats.... ;_;

  • @MegamiTenchi I figured the sneakers would look funny with the tux! Sorry.

  • @klusmanp I liked the sneakers. :3

  • @klusmanp it does! well in my opinion it does ☺

  • @klusmanp Outstanding... The kicks really added to the engineer's attire. You can use this.. the TKT affect. Tux, Kicks, Tophat... ;-)

  • @klusmanp I thought it looked funny--especially with the cheesy mustache!

  • @MegamiTenchi traditionally, one would not wear spats with a tux. Spats are day wear, tuxes are evening wear and a man would wear a highly polished evening slipper. So, sneakers with a tux so much funnier than spats.

  • @MegamiTenchi I'll stick to my Norco 6 Thanks any Paul

  • @MegamiTenchi I like the sneaks....

  • Paul, you're looking mighty handsome with the longer hair. You also seem a bit more energetic and expressive than usual. You really make me want to find a penny farthing.

  • Some of the kids must have been quite perplexed if they had little to no frame of reference! :)

  • Perfect music!

    ...

    One I can Play!

  • Sneakers with tails?

  • The trainers ruin the old fashioned attire lol

  • That's my old neighborhood! So cool!

  • You are very athletic Paul!! Very impressive.

Your cleverness and imagination plus ability to create AWESOME vidoes, in addition to your love of animals is a huge delight to us all out here in the rest of the world.

    Bravo!!!!!!

    Oh, loved TJ's smile!

  • I LOVE THIS!!! True entertainment, I can't stop smiling. <3 the Proper Attire. You and TJ are clever and adorable!! Can't wait to see the next vid. <3

  • I was laughing like crazy!!! You two are THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! I would have liked to see you live on the street! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • you guys rock!

  • i always go skating with that same outfit...

  • I wish I could look out my window and see this.

  • id' recommend to reduce flicker amplitude in jolly olde steady cam shots

  • Man, that had almost no farting cats in it!

  • A man of many talents. Seriously ~ that was fascinating! I learned something new, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone riding a Pennyfarthing before.

  • Oh my God those kids must of been creeped out xD

  • This was a hoot.Cat flatulence .. btw Paul, that reminds me of the time my family and Dog Sheba piled into our Car to go somewhere. All of a sudden the air was rank,so a chorus of,'' Did you do that?" resounded amongst the 6 of us in the Car.Then all at once we realized who the only one that was left."SHEBA!" we all cried out at once and all we got from the Dog were apologetic eyes and a sad look. The 'Penny Farthing' Bike looks very comfortable to ride as it promotes good posture.

  • Dear Paul,

The penny farthing bicycle and your attire are absolutely adorable: much like all of your videos. You are one of my favorite youtubers!

  • thumbs up for the mustache!

  • Anything worth doing is worth doing right... and with an epic mustache!

  • that bike is awesome :D

  • I must say, Paul was quite the "ordinary" student. No, no spills or crashes while learning to ride (I'm the teacher and proud owner of the beautiful Rideable Bicycle Replicas ordinary). He was quite proficient w/in a couple of hours. And remalns the only cat I've ever trusted my bike with.

  • @javavillain Thanks Kev!! You have been more than generous helping me with all my video nonsense over the years. Much appreciated!

  • @javavillain Paul is a cat? What? o.o'

  • @Rayningstorms Indeed, A cool cat, man.

  • @javavillain Kevin, I'm glad Paul gave you a shout-out in the vid, just so we can appreciate your witty username. :)

  • @burke615 ...I should have also mentioned - anyone interested in learning more about Java Villa Coffee shop please see their FaceBook page - search on "Java Villa Cafe" and you will find them. Kevin will update the page with Pennyfarthing content soon!

  • @burke615 But... but.... but.... doesn't his username mean his coffee is bad? ;o)

  • @javavillain Aww... no bloopers then.

  • OMG that's so funny..your neighbors must think you're nuts!

  • LOL.. This is another good one!!! Is it hard to ride one of those? I loved all the kids riding with you too! I bet you made the neighbors day too! How fun. ; )

  • The mustache is the only prerequisite. The rest is only rental.

  • Very graceful. Witchita looks to be all made of flat, though. Please bring your penny farthing to San Francisco. We will be pleased to watch. Ambulance at the ready, of course.

  • Why don't you have your own TV show, Paul? Your videos are so much fun.

  • classy with the sneakers XD

  • Cat farts?

  • proper attire plus sneakers lol <3

  • You have the best neighbors ever. Just thought I'd give them their props.

  • Looking very sharp there Paul! lol You have awesome neighbours in this video lol if I done this my neighbours would either stare like WTF or call the cops lol

  • 2:41 - Love the fat kid on the scooter that is too small for her :D

  • Looking very classy Paul!

  • Mr. Klusman, you are SO handsome! especially with the 'stache accessory

  • Lmao!!! I was expecting a lot of nosey neighbours thinking "what in the name of god" :)

  • What cat people really need is an Engineers Guide to Hair Balls!

  • This video is awesome. Very funny!

  • Who would have thought it was possible for Paul to be even more awesome? You have outdone yourself, good sir! You look pretty fantastic up there on that bike. ;o)

  • finally!!!!!!! it's here!

  • This is made of awesome. WOOHOO!

  • The greatness of this video caused one person to mistakenly press the "dislike" button.

  • "That weird cat guy from around the corner is in front of the house on his old-time bicycle again, and he's talking about farting while wearing a top hat. What do I do?"

  • Awesome! & Looking forward to the new video :)

  • UNHOLY FUCK, IM VIEWER 666!

  • You have 3:10 to be as british as possible, GO!

  • hahaha awesome :D

  • But how does it relate to feline flatulence? O.o

  • Marvelous. You are a highly skilled velocipedist. Dare I ask if you've taken a few falls while learning? Edwardian boots would have been perfection.

  • I'll bet it's REALLY hard to go uphill on that bicycle. And downhill would be dangerous.

  • This is a great preview. Made my day. :)

  • Love it! LOL

  • What a wonderful video! Bring back the days when such leisure was commonplace, and one knew one's neighbors.

  • This made my day! Can't wait to see your new vid!!! :D

  • A man rides down the street on a bike like that; you know he's not afraid of anything.

Also: It appears that we need to start a 'Winklepickers for Paul' charity.

  • lol What does it have in common with cat's flatulence? xD

  • I love this sneak preview!

  • You don't know how big was my smile when I saw the people's reactions :)

Keep up the awesome work, Paul !

  • Like all other videos Paul has done it's classy and funny but WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH CAT FARTS!?

  • oh so much win! :)

  • I was very impressed with the variety of wheeled conveyances that gathered around you as you took your leisurely ride through the neighborhood.

  • you could get a nose bleed on that bike!

You're like the bicycling Pied Piper.

  • You look quite dapper, although I must say, your footwear is not proper for riding a magnificent machine such as the penny farthing.

  • So excited for this!

  • you're awesome!!

  • how much does the replacement intertube cost? Do you need a backpack to carry it?

  • paul, you look so dapper in your penny farthing attire! =^..^= <3

  • You are so goofy, good chap! I laughed heartily!

  • meant to say "great". ...And now I hit enter too early. Wonderful. Dx

  • Wow. Auto-correct fail. I

  • Putting the non-coincidence of movies and penny farthings aside, the video should have sped up slightly during the "vintage" segments, rather than slowing down. Other than the tiny detail, Gretchen video, just like all your other ones! I look forward to the next one with great anticipation.

  • If the footwwear is good enough for The Tenth Doctor, it's good enough for klusmanp!

  • No brakes ? Down hill would be a B. I loved the kids following you !

  • Loved it!

  • I would pay so much money to see that go past my window every day.

  • i do say sir, superb footwear.

  • Gotta love it!

  • wouldnt want to go up a hill on that. :P

  • Jolly good!

  • That was elegant. Also I think you are what I like best about Kansas!

  • no brakes would be an 'issue' for me

  • A very graceful dismount sir

  • So why was the cat flatulence video put on hold for a year? If you are in dire need of a gassy feline, I'd be more than happy to loan you mine.

She also doubles as an alarm. Get within 10 feet of her and she meows non-stop.

I'm sure these two traits serve some type of evolutionary purpose, although I haven't quite figured out what exactly that purpose might be.

  • That bike is to cool, now I want one just so I can kill myself trying to ride it. lol

  • Hmmm. Did he say "Penny Farting?" I thought this was about kitty farting.

  • @hoppes9 Nope. Sorry, he said "Penny Farthing"

  • @shewolf51 You must be an engineer. That went right over your head.

  • You are so graceful!

  • thats so cool!

  • Bringing back jolly old England? Good show sir, good show!

  • First Tim I've seen u without the burgundy shirt!

  • How did you get a suit that's kitty hair free?!

  • This is simply too cute for words! I do have to say, however, that I wish those kids had been wearing helmets. Congrats to you for doing so before donning the "proper attire!"

I'm looking forward to the full video. My best to your cats.

  • I absolutely love you guys! <3

  • You guys are a big cup of awesome....luv ya!
