A better written character isn't the one you would rather date. It's who has more layers, consistancy and motivation. Anyone could write about the perfect kid that every girl would want to date. Anyone could write about the perfect chick that every guy would want to date.

That being said, I haven't read either of the books, so I really have no definitive say. That being said, I really dislike the Twilight films.

Harry could win without his wand. I would much rather be best friends with Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Ginny, and Neville, than Edward, Bella, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie and Emmet. Chick who likes twilight...liking Edward because he always talks about how beautiful you are is living in a fantasy world. He isn't realistic at all. You also have to take into the account that we had more books, so we got longer with our obsession. Plus, most kids started reading Harry Potter, and have stuck with it well into their adult years. Twilight is read obsessively for a while, I dont really know any people who read the book when they first came out that still obsessively read the books. Their crazy love for them seems to die off the longer their fans.

I'm a bigger fan of Harry Potter, but honestly, I never get why people pit these stories against each other. Have you read both stories? If not, you really can't dis it or discuss it. I've read both, and I do believe Harry was better written, but honestly, these stories are nothing alike. The subject matter, style, view point, time span, location, and emotions are far to vastly different to accuratley compare them.
