  • nice tank man !!

  • What's the difference between flowerhorn cichlids, red devils and midas cichlids??? They all have a lump on their head.

  • So do green terrors

but flowerhorns are a cross between a few fish,

and parrot fish are a cross between a red devil and a severum i think,

so u can come a cross a breeding flowerhorn and parrot

  • Thank you!

  • @neelhound There are certainly "Flowerhorn parrots", but their parentage can seem confusing. Your summary of parrot lineage is correct. A typical flowerhorn is a hybrid of red devil/midas and trimac. Hybridization in all but the rarest of cases renders subsequent generations sterile, making hybridizing hybrids a pretty empty pursuit. A flowerhorn parrot is the product of breeding a severum with a trimac, lending a slightly rounder body and often darker coloration.

  • dang.. thats a real man's tank ! A+

  • wtf blue severum?

  • @Ren728 It is common for less reputable retail outlets to label Texas cichlids as "blue severum". Heros Severum is a very popular aquarium fish due to it's substantial size, moderate temperament, and wide range of acceptable water parameters/tank-mates. Many often get duped into a larger, more aggressive fish than they had bargained for with this sales tactic. This owner was lucky enough to have an appropriate tank. Walk out of any outlet that tells you they have a "blue severum"...

  • nice ;)
