Public opinion changes in a slow, evolutionary process. This billboard probably won't inspire a drastic change that makes people who see it change their opinion entirely, but it makes them start to think, and get used to the idea, and in a while it will seem normal to the public.

But it's basically this: The Universe is space/time, that is, it is the meta-event that is comprised by all events throughout space/time. All time, distance and all events are the Universe. If it is, was, or will be, it is by definition, within the universe. What could "outside" all space and time mean? The universe would be infinitely small, with no before, no after: a SINGULARITY.

Religion is for the weak. Life is like a good movie, you know its going to end, yet you still enjoy it while it lasts. The pastor's Pascal's Wager type argument is flawed. Does he think one should believe due to "better safe than sorry"? What an insult to his faith and his god. Is his god that stupid? Or would his god know people are believing by taking the "safe bet" instead of TRULY believing in what the bible teaches them?

So I said, "I don't fucking know, no one does." Some have theories but we are a long way off knowing." Infact humans may never know what created the universe. Chance or otherwise.

It is wrong to assume that this sort of thing does not change anyone's mind. There is a reason why hard core Christians are so offended by such an innocuous message. I believe there are many, many atheists, who stay "in the closet" because they believe they are an incredibly tiny minority, when there are far more of us than many people--theist or atheist believe. But in this society you get punished for being openly atheist.

The word ritual can substitute for religion and more accurately describes what most people seek, whatever religious affiliation they profess. It hardly matters what the tenets of a faith are, most people blindly accept the religion of their parents or shop for a faith like any other product that satisfies their needs. People will accept absurd claims as long as they can find a group with whom they can perform ritualistic ceremonies that satisfy their powerful urge for primitive tribal unity.

I think such a billboard CAN change minds. It can open someone up to considering a different viewpoint, realizing there are many others the same as them and takes away a major crutch of religion, which is that you need it in order to love, behave, to have morals, to give to charity etc etc. The girl said Muslims think the preacher will go to hell - as a Muslim I believe his soul will be spared, though that's a personal opinion and based on faith, not evidence. Religion is not wagers, just faith.

Christian organizations can post billboards saying "Jesus Saves" and "Evolution is False" but damn the atheists that fight fire with fire. Hypocrisy at it's finest.
The Atheists may be wrong. The Christians may be wrong too. But saying Evolution is False, the billboard I see most often where I am from, is a bold faced lie. At least Atheists aren't lying to anyone.

As for the Muslim religion thing, all you have to do is study the bible's "antichrist" and the muslim's awaited "world teacher". Islam was formed AFTER Christianity. Therefore, you cannot say that the bible said this to prove itself to be the right religion. EVERY detail about the Muslim's "world teacher" is the exact same thing that the bible describes as the "antichrist". Just thought id let you all know ;)

Singularity, cont.. In the singularity, all events are co-existent in time, and occupy the same space, which is infinitely small. Nothing comes before anything else. The beginning of the Universe is the same as its end. No creation, no destruction. No cause, no effect. No sin, no obedience. This is all from god's perspective, which if god is true, is the true perspective. It's not that it is a mystery, but rather, an absurdity.

There's nothing wrong with the billboard. To those fools who believe that people shouldn't try to deconvert the religious: 9/11. Here's the fact: there is no god. Proof? All extant evidence is contrary to the premise that a god exists. Yup. All. The bible is full of lies and myths, with no history. Unless, that is, the Oddysey is history, too. Faith is the lie one uses when confronted with evidence that no god exists. God is not outside space/time, because of the singularity. God is dead!

But it's basically this: The Universe is space/time, that is, it is the meta-event that is comprised by all events throughout space/time. All time, distance and all events are the Universe. If it is, was, or will be, it is by definition, within the universe. What could "outside" all space and time mean? The universe would be infinitely small, with no before, no after: a SINGULARITY.
